NFL Week 12

I just think of an interception as the absolute worst-case scenario, as opposed to "they have an equal right to the ball."

But, they do "have an equal right to the ball."

OPI isn't called nearly enough. I'm glad people are starting to notice this, as opposed to way back during the Cowboys' dynasty, when Michael Irvin would routinely put the DB on their ass and snag an Aikman softball.

To avoid interference calls, draw up better plays.

I know, you're right. It's just that I struggle with the semantics of it, I guess.

The Giants are a really funny team. I cant believe what they are doing week in and week out. I still cant believe how they won the Superbowl last year. The Giants are on one of the best runs ever since the start of the playoffs last year. They are beating playoff caliber teams week in and week out. I believe the best part of them having a difficult schedule is that it forces them to bring their A game and maintain their excellence. The loss to the Browns was probably the best thing to happen to them this season because it reinforced that you cant take anybody lightly and you have to maintain that A level if you want to win in this league.

Defensive backs play on that side of the ball for a reason. It's laughable how many times a DB blows a gimme interception or a play like the one you mentioned at the pro level.

Thank you, Atlanta! Tampa's win in the Motor City coupled with Carolina's loss in the Chocolate City gives the Bucs sole possession of first place in the NFC South. And, the first quarter aside, today's game was pretty solid for Tampa. Garcia had two very rare TD passes of longer than 10 yards. Clifton Smith is awesome and has given us a welcome alternative to Ike "Fair Catch" Hilliard on special teams. Warrick Dunn proved that he can still carry the load, but only if we get to play the Lions every week. Caddy was unspectacular.

8-3.

Chocolate City?

And since any financial gain went out the window with Washington not covering the spread - hey, Oakland won a game! In all seriousness, I'm delighted the Raiders beat a divisional rival. I didn't see any of the game (oh, how I miss Sunday Ticket), but 31-10? Surely they couldn't all have been field goals and defensive touchdowns. This also keeps the door open for my stubborn prediction of San Diego getting past Denver in the West. In the preseason, I stated a hope of a 5-11 season, and that seems reachable now after some baffling moves by the front office, not the least of which was hiring John Goodman to coach.

Carolina still has to play Tampa again, so that game will probably decide the South now.

Yeah, and it's on Monday Night Football, too. While I'm sure that Kornheiser will spend the three hours discussing Tampa's flirtation with Brett Favre in the offseason, it's still going to be an awesome game. Due to this team being miles better than the last two Tampa Bay teams to make a run at the playoffs, I can say without exaggeration that this will be the biggest Buccaneers game since the Super Bowl in 2003.

At the moment it's the difference between the #2 seed, a first-round bye and a home game, and the #5 seed with no bye and no guaranteed home game.

Then they should quit shoving Wayne to the ground while the ball is in the air and grabbing Clark by both arms.

I really do wish they'd do away with the stupid yellow first down line on the field because its hardly ever near the official markers and the announcers after years of "remember the yellow line isn't official" have been treating it as such a lot more lately.

Well that should have STILL been a measurement, it wasn't even that definitive to signal first down like that. It was just too close to instantly signal it.

Annnd it's short. But that's ok, cause Peyton Manning is just icing the hearts of Charger fans everywhere.

The Chargers have probably had the most excrutiating season I've ever seen and there's still 5 weeks to go.
