JHawk Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 Rules are subject to change, but the base is as follows: 1. The contest will be split up quarterly (January-March, April-June, July-September, and October-December), as well as one winner for the entire year. 2. Scoring will go as follows: You will receive one point for correctly guessing a winner, five bonus points for correctly guessing every winner on the PPV, and additional points may be scored for specialty matches (Royal Rumble, Survivor Series, etc.). Additional points will be listed when the PPV lineups are posted. A minimum of ten points will be awarded for each PPV. The five point bonus is only for guessing the winners. 3. Should a match be changed during the PPV (for a last minute substitution/whatever) most likely the match will not be counted. Exceptions would be for the Royal Rumble where half the time they don't announce all the names ahead of time anyway. 4. Winners for quarterly contests will have $20 dropped into a paypal account, and the annual winner will receive $50 into a paypal account. 5. PPV lineups will be posted shortly after the last TV prior to the PPV (usually around midnight Eastern Thursday for TNA and 11pm Eastern Friday for WWE.) 6. Only live PPVs will be scored, so no looking at spoilers for ROH results. And if TNA pretapes anything in Orlando like they did for Abyss-Judas Mesias a year or so ago, those will not be scored either. 7. Deadline for all submissions is one hour before the PPV. Absolutely no exceptions. This contest is in conjunction with Smart Mark Radio. Quarterly and annual winners will get the opportunity to guest co-host one week. All signups for quarter one must be done in this thread prior to Thursday, January 8. We will allow new sign-ups every quarter, but for my sanity I want to keep the same people for the entire quarter. Quarter #1 begins with TNA Genesis on 1/11 and ends with whatever TNA's March PPV is this year, meaning quarter #2 will officially begin with WrestleMania 25. Signups, questions, and rule suggestions go in this thread.

CubbyBr Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 Question: Are we just trying to predict the winner and that's it or do we need to predict the type of finish that will take place, possible run-ins, etc? If not, is there a possibility of adding more points for predicting the type of finish that will happen or would that make it too complicated?
CubbyBr Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 DOUBLEPOST (sorry) Question: Are we just trying to predict the winner and that's it or do we need to predict the type of finish that will take place, possible run-ins, etc? If not, is there a possibility of adding more points for predicting the type of finish that will happen or would that make it too complicated?
JHawk Posted December 18, 2008 Author Report Posted December 18, 2008 Question: Are we just trying to predict the winner and that's it or do we need to predict the type of finish that will take place, possible run-ins, etc? If not, is there a possibility of adding more points for predicting the type of finish that will happen or would that make it too complicated? We may do run-ins and types of finish on occasion, but for the most part it will probably be winner only. I have ideas for bonus points for multiman matches (who takes the fall, etc.) that will help shake things up.
JHawk Posted December 19, 2008 Author Report Posted December 19, 2008 Good to see there's a lot of interest in this one. There will be a minimum of ten points available for every PPV, so expect (at least) 1-3 bonus points available for each PPV.
cd213 Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 Sounds interesting enough. I'll try it.
