Most Unique Wrestling Entrances

Recommended Posts

OK, was doing my Royal Rumble Marathon...currently watching the 2006 Royal Rumble event...and John Cena's "Spaceship" entrance got me thinking...

What are some good, unique entrances that some wrestlers have done over the years.

Some off the top of my head:

-Gangrel & The Brood's "Rise from the fire" entrance

-Michaels' zip-line from Mania 12.

-The Spaceship entrance by Cena at Rumble 06.

-Both Cena and Triple H's entrances at Mania 22

-Dustin Runnels' entrance for his "Se7en" character.

So...your opinions on some good ones...maybe some from Japan that I don't know about?

Austin, WrestleMania 13...glass shattering.

Cena, WrestleMania 24 with the band playing him down. I was there live and was like WTF...didn't realize it was Cena's music until he came out. And the spot n the card threw me off too.

Owen Hart at Over the Edge '99

Now that's just cold...

Austin, WrestleMania 13...glass shattering.

Ah yes, forgot about that. And how the announcers played up that Bret had to walk through that glass as he was announced second.

Flair’s entrance at Chi-Town Rumble where he had like 40 women come out to a trumpets and line the aisle. Then Flair entered. Find it on youtube, one of the grandest entrances ever. I always used to love The Road Warriors coming out to Iron Man and pounding the ever loving piss out of jobbers before the music even went off. New Jack’s entrance was also unique in that Natural Born Killers played during the entire match. And this list isn’t complete with mentioning The Sandman’s entrance at One Night Stand.

Austin, WrestleMania 13...glass shattering.

Didn't Nash beat him to the punch by a couple of years on this? I seem to recall a match against Hart at the Rumble where they did a broken glass bit for Diesel.

Rey Rey's original WWE entrance gets no love? That one's one of my favorites.

Even though it's an obvious one, Taker needs to get a mention. Damn near any of his Mania ones work.

Papacita: I think my favorite Taker entrance was his Mania 21 one...where he seemed to "Float" to the ring

And I will admit, I thought for a second when I saw you post here that you were gonna revert to your old ways and mention Chyna with her blaster thing that she had near the end of her in-ring career.

I never did get the Chyna hate; I thought she was kind of cute, until she lost her goddamned mind... Of course, I tend to find myself attracted to buff women, anyway, so that could have something to do with it...

If you dare, watch her porn with X-Pac, "One Night in China", and that may answer your question.

EDIT: Plus, she only really got "cute" after she got about as much surgery as The 6 Million Dollar Man did.

Oh wow, I *completely* forgot about that! Yeah the C-2000 gun was cool as hell. I would definitely toss that in now that I think about it...how the hell'd I forget Chyna?! I'm slipping!

Edit: And I still think she was cute before the surgery...when they weren't trying to make her look like a beast.

...Okaaay with Danshoku Dino...

Anyway, speaking of Japanese entrances: I always loved how in ECW (and I think a few times in TNA too), certain Japanese wrestlers would get the rolls of streamers thrown into the ring for them.

You can't go wrong with BxB Hulk!

Saw his entrance live at the Dragon Gate L.A. event; didn't have backup dancers. Halfway through, he stopped, then started again. I was so disillusioned.

Do we even know if Chyna was a woman?

I also liked it when they did it with Diesel at the 1995 Royal Rumble, what with the semi-truck crash entrance.

But what on earth happened at WrestleMania XI? Was it a production snafu or were they really trying to project an underlit image of Sid/Michaels onto the to-be-shattered glass?

As cool as the the shattered glass with Austin at WrestleMania 13 was, it would have been a lot better if they actually timed it right. Austin music started (which had the glass shattering at the beginning), and then they show Austin on his was to the ring for about 10 - 15 seconds, and then they shatter the glass and have him walk out. I just think it would have been a cool visual to see the glass shatter in tune with his music, but then again, I'm nit picking.

Black Scorpion, Starrcade 90.

Shawn Michaels, WMXIX, just for the fact that when the Johnny B.Badd pyro guns didn't go off he improvised and went with it, instead of panicking and looking stupid.

Shockmaster.

They timed it right when they did it again at WWF SummerSlam 1998: Highway To Hell, I believe.

Some of my favorites (Many already mentioned):

-Pretty much any Undertaker/Wrestlemania entrance

-Edge coming out of the crowd, but I do like his new entrance now

-Any entrance where Flair got to come out with a bevy of ladies

-The Fabulous Freebirds at Halloween Havoc '89 (Simply based on the fact the crowd HATED The Dynamic Dudes and cheered the Birds like conquering heroes)

-Ricky Steamboat's entrance as the mystery partner of Dustin Rhodes against The Enforcers

-The Brood

-Austin's intro at WM19

Stan Hansen's storming to the ring swinging his lariat, ringing the cowbell and spewing chewing tobacco all over the place got a chuckle out of me.

I'm also surprised no one has mentioned Ravishing Rick Rude's coming to the ring and then informing all the men to pipe down while he showed the ladies what a real man was supposed to look like.
