Gary Floyd Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 Used to like Bill, now think he's too much of a prick. His love of Ron Paul last year was the last straw for me. Hm, I guess Will Smith doesn't want to pretend he's not a scientologist anymore.
Gary Floyd Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 Will Smith is a scientologist? I did a GIS, and nope, guess I was wrong, that wasn't a Scientology cross/symbol. He's a defender though. I did love the "Boom goes the dynamite!" reference.
BorneAgain Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 I want some footage from "The Day the Clown Cried".
Black Lushus Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 He and Jada are best buddies with the Cruises....I would expect the brainwashing to happen sooner or later.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 He looks like hes about to keel right over and die on the stage.
Gary Floyd Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 Everytime I see Jerry Lewis, I either think of "The King of Comedy" or Chris Rock's bit about him.
The Niggardly King Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 Don't forget to add him to your list in '10 then.
strummer Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 show really starting to crawl Hopefully Rourke's speech makes the show memorable
strummer Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 and yes Bill Maher completely bombing put a smile on my face what a prick He hasn't been entertaining since Politically Incorrect left Comedy Central
Maztinho Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 and yes Bill Maher completely bombing put a smile on my face what a prick He hasn't been entertaining since Politically Incorrect left Comedy Central I've never found Maher funny. Like at all. The whole way he delivers his "jokes" and then his smarmy look after waiting for people to laugh just irks the hell out of me.
strummer Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 just what the show needs...*another* musical number
Gary Floyd Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 and yes Bill Maher completely bombing put a smile on my face what a prick He hasn't been entertaining since Politically Incorrect left Comedy Central I've never found Maher funny. Like at all. The whole way he delivers his "jokes" and then his smarmy look after waiting for people to laugh just irks the hell out of me. His studio audience is unbearable. I'd most likely enjoy his show more if he had an audience that wasn't made up of howler monkeys.
milliondollarchamp Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 nothing against the slumdog songs, BUT if you only have three niominees then two can't be from the same movie
Black Lushus Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 Didn't Enchanted have like 3 songs nominated last year or the year before?
strummer Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 very predictable night so far. Slumdog is obviously winning Boyle is a lock for Director Winslet for actress. I just hope Penn doesn't win. I want to see Rourke's speech
Ravenbomb Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 the songs from The Wrestler and Gran Torino were good enough to be nominated too.
CBright7831 Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 BTW, I think I should repost this: "I didn't get it and I still can't tell you what happened in the movie, what happened to the character and in the end they need him to be a bad guy. I'm like, 'I get it. This is so high brow and so fucking smart, I clearly need a college education to understand this movie.' You know what? Fuck DC comics. That's all I have to say and that's where I'm really coming from"
The Buzz Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 The slumdog love this year is killing it for me, but I can't say anything one way or the other on the movie since I haven't seen it.
bob_barron Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 Didn't Enchanted have like 3 songs nominated last year or the year before? Enchanted had three songs nominated, so I think they made it so you can't have more than two. Watching the first 2.5 hours on DVR was awesome, best Oscars ever!
bob_barron Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 Also, they shouldn't have played music when Ledger won, let the silence tell the story. Also, Newman deserved his own tribute segment.
foleyfanforever88 Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 Did they not just show Heath in that video package?
BorneAgain Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 I'm a bit surprised Carlin didn't get a mention. Yeah, primarily a comic, but he did occasional film work.
strummer Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 and maybe I couldn't hear it over the song but did Chartlon Heston not get any reaction?
PUT THAT DICK IN MY MOUTH! Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 I'm kinda bummed that M.I.A didn't make an appearance during that best song thing. Her Oscar couture prob. would have been off the chain.
bob_barron Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 Did they not just show Heath in that video package? Heath died in time for last year's Oscars. Also to the whining about Button winning, come on. The visual effects in that movie were more impressive than anything in TDK or Iron Man
foleyfanforever88 Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 and maybe I couldn't hear it over the song but did Chartlon Heston not get any reaction? It didn't sound like it to me either.
