Steviekick Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 I don't believe it, i've drawn middle of the pack again! I'm a big fan of NOT talking about picks that haven't been picked yet. TheFranchise Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 Ah Stevie, you were one before me last year if I remember correctly.
Maztinho Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 I'll be dissappointed if 6foot9's rant in the first draft about who he'd pick first was a lie.
TheFranchise Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 LOL. All will be revealed! Lack of Drury saddens me.
King Kamala Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 I'm pretty happy with my draft slot. Though it sucks being far down initially, after that, I won't have to wait long between picks and I'll be able to get tag teams easily. Score one for the Ugandan giant! Franchise had a good idea, I'm ripping it off. TheFranchise Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 Good stuff Kamala. But I actually ripped it off myself, I did it with the first draft too.
Maztinho Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 LOL. All will be revealed! Lack of Drury saddens me. Want me to draft a bunch of random ass mid-90's midcarders in his stead? King Kamala Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 This draft certainly won't be the same without him. My favorite Drury moment was him drafting Eddie Graham. So out of nowhere. Thanks.
TheFranchise Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 The highlight of Drury was missing FOUR picks and then making them up all at the same time with some of the worst gimmicks of all time.
Maztinho Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 The highlight of Drury was missing FOUR picks and then making them up all at the same time with some of the worst gimmicks of all time. He did that twice as I recall.
King Kamala Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 So when does this thing start? Whenever Hawk gets here and makes his pick?
TheFranchise Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 I believe it started when the first post was made in this thread. He has eight hours to do so.
Jebus Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 Whoa...#3 draft pick. I'll be at work for the next 10 hours. I've PM'd my picks to our great leader.
tominator89 Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 I ended up getting a really nice spot. Like Kamala, I should be able to draft tag teams rather well. EVIL~! alkeiper Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 In the first post it states venue AND first round pick, correct?
naiwf Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 Yes it does al. If Hawk misses his deadline he's going to be terribly bitter because he's going to lose out on both.
tominator89 Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 Are we able to select a venue in a city in which someone else has already drafted?
naiwf Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 No, it says one city per player in the green text up there.
PILLS! PILLS! PILLS! Posted February 24, 2009 Author Report Posted February 24, 2009 Are we able to select a venue in a city in which someone else has already drafted? I want to keep it separate cities/territories. Anywhere in the world, though, so there are more than enough "hotbeds" to go around.
King Kamala Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 Man, the waiting game sucks. I want to play Hungry Hungry Hippos! Fake edit- wow soon as I say that I see Hawk in the thread! This is the second time in a week something like this has happened. I won't bore you with the anecdote.
JHawk Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 Grr... I leave for a day to work/spend some time with my girlfriend and I miss out AGAIN! You guys better have some kickass rosters.
Kahran Ramsus Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 Lousy number for me this go around. I was looking to build around a top guy, but I'll probably have to go with a quantity versus quality approach. My chosen venue is likely to be gone as well.
TheFranchise Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 Ramsus, the general feeling is if you draw a lower number, your first two picks will be close together so you can actually put some thought into your main two guy fued.
Kahran Ramsus Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 Ramsus, the general feeling is if you draw a lower number, your first two picks will be close together so you can actually put some thought into your main two guy fued. I get that, but I would have preferred to get one of the Big 3, who I won't mention because of the rules but it should be pretty obvious. Once those three are gone, I'd just as soon be at the end for the reasons you mention. There are a lot guys in the second tier, IMO. I'm not really bitching, I just saying that I will have to go with a different approach then I would have with a top pick. I was at the top of the NFL Draft, so I was bound to end up with a late pick eventually.
King Kamala Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 The more I think about it, the more I love my pick. I'll be able to craft my top feud with the click of a button with no waiting period. Also will have the ability to take tag teams with no problem. Pretty sweet. Only problem is waiting for my first two picks is going to be endless. Especially since I don't have classes tomorrow. Ugh!
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 16th pick. I'm putting together a list of my top 16 "top guys," and my top 16 preferred venues. It will be interesting to see how the actual draft shakes out.
