Independent star Colt Cabana, who worked briefly in WWE under his given name Scotty Goldman; was quoted in an SLAM.ca article on anti-semitism in wrestling and made charges against WWE developmental employees.

 

In the article, which also told a story by Paul Heyman regarding past anti-semitic behavior by Bill Watts and of Heyman family connections to the Holocaust (in the framework of a trip to the United Nations by Heyman and the article's author); Goldman repeats the story of an unnamed WWE trainer referred who referred to Goldman as "Kike Cabana" while he was in WWE's developmental system who "referred to him as 'Kike Cabana' in front of everybody...I looked at him like he was some kind of moron. It was one of the most ignorant things anyone could ever do. I'll never forget that."

 

Goldman further stated, "The WWE is part of corporate America, and for [one of their employees] to call me 'Kike Cabana' in front of everybody was one of the most anti-Semitic things I've ever experienced."

Some news that might end up being the final nail in Dolph Ziggler's future endeavors coffin..

 

 

-- Dolph Ziggler suffered an apparent injury during his match this afternoon against Sim Snuka (making his first WWE appearance since the January 12, 2009 episode of Raw) at the WrestleMania Axxess event. The former Spirit Squad member suffered the injury during his match with the second generation wrestler, resulting in the referee putting up the "X" signal. Ziggler was seen clutching his shoulder and it believed that he may have broken his collarbone. Here is more on the story, courtesy of his official website, www.NickNemeth.net :

 

Day Three (Day of WrestleMania): Dolph Ziggler competed in another singles match, this time against Snuka. While Ziggler may have picked up the victory, it wasn't without an unfortunate circumstance. After the match, Ziggler was escorted towards the back while being looked at by WWE Agents. Ziggler was said to be in excruciating pain, to the point of tears, as he clutched his right shoulder. When asked by fans what had happened, Snuka replied by saying he believes Ziggler may have broken his collarbone during the match.

 

Ziggler was expected to be one of the many Lumberjacks during the WrestleMania Tag Team bout between The Miz & John Morrison versus Carlito & Primo Colon. It is questionable whether or not Ziggler will make his WrestleMania debut tonight.

Some potentially huge news that got sort of lost in the WrestleMania shuffle:

Going into the WWE Draft on April 13, the idea is that Raw and Smackdown will no longer be treated as separate brands, but equal. Last year they moved Triple H, Jeff Hardy and Jim Ross to Smackdown to strengthen the shows transition to MyNetworkTV. The move is seen as unsuccessful considering the drop in ratings. The plan now is to move the top talent to Raw for maximum exposure, and keep two-three stars on Smackdown to keep house show business strong.

It's time to merge the brands. Raw & Smackdown will both seem important to watch in order to keep up with all the happenings & the fans will get to see a better mix of matches. I mean WWE basically has a couple interpromotional matches every week anyway so what's the point of keeping them separate anymore. I say go back to basics.

In my opinion, Smackdown and Raw should be the WWE "brand". They are just two different shows that would focus on the same roster.

 

ECW should be treated as a developmental promotion, with mostly younger stars and a few veterans mixed in to help teach the new guys. They should just tape ECW every few weeks instead of pairing it with Raw or Smackdown tapings and give it a smaller, distinct look in smaller venues to allow a more intimate, indy feel. ECW, being on Sci-fi, could also be pushed as a more teen or adult friendly program by featuring more hardcore style matches.

 

I never understood how having Smackdown and Raw separate would help differentiate house shows. For years, WWE always had 2 or 3 different touring teams for house shows since the roster was generally big enough to support it. They didn't need brands to do this.

I think that's the best idea right now. Have Superstars be under-carded by Smackdown/Raw guys and main-evented by ECW talent, continue some of the angles from ECW there so they can mutually help eachother.

 

Having continuity between your two major shows was a formula that largely led to the WWE being as successful as it was in terms of ratings. They want to flirt with it but maintain this brand separation, but at this point they'd be better off just having a general manager for each SHOW, not each brand, and combine the rosters officially. ECW should be more specialized and for the love of fucking god GO BACK TO AT LEAST A WATERED DOWN VERSION OF ECW RULES. Fuck make it some hybrid WWECW rules where you're just allowed to use weapons, but what is the point at all if there's nothing to differentiate it from the other two brands? You might as well make up some brand new gay name just so you don't risk old ECW fans tuning in and not even giving it a chance.

Kelly was released from the company shortly before WrestleMania 19 in 2003. After his release, he was publicly critical of Triple H's political power in storylines and match results.
