Oh man, what drugs are you on right now?

I'm a fucking alcoholic waiting to happen. It's getting worse. But I still enjoy it, so I still do it. -
Shit! Paul Robinson got a touch just then!
-
Probably not.

Kings of Leon are a country-retro shite factory.
-
Today - The Replacements - I'm In Trouble The Monks - We Do (Wie Du) Crime and the City Solution - On every train (grain will be bear grain) The Wedding Present - I'm from further North than you The Residents - Inner Space
-
I'm sure I've said it before, but Beavis and Butthead's championing of the Butthole Surfers is probably the single most important thing that happened to me as an 11/12 year old. Also, SHEFFIELD legends Pulp reaching no.2 with 'Common People'. That was a great day for music. Pulp and the Butthole Surfers are probably the only two bands I loved back then that I still love now.

They should be killed. Where I used to work, my manager would regularly play one Matchbox 20 CD on loop for 8 hours. As if liking them in the first place isn't bad enough, if you do that with any CD you don'rt deserve to listen to music. What a cunt.

May I share my delight that the mighty Owls actually seem to have created a footballer, in Drew Talbot. He's fast, he can finish, he's everything Lloyd Owusu wasn't! Shame our entire defence is injured/terrible. Still, it's only Torquay! I'm scared... And on the Heskey front, I agree he's a fine supporting striker, obv. he can work with Owen, he even does well with Clinton Morrison.

The Wedding Present - Take Fountain. I love parts of it, but I can't help thinking if someone like Snow Patrol or Razorlight had written some of the tracks I'd despise them. That's either a testament to my blind elitism or the effects of David's Gedge's personal brand of northern angst, depending on how you look at it.

Death.

As for underappreciated 90s rock, I give you Kerbdog's On The Turn. And Swell's ...WELL?.
-
The Replacements - Sorry ma forgot to take out the trash Absolutely wonderful. The Wedding Present - Take Fountain A good bit in every song. I like it.
-
Bollocks, 'Reel around the fountain' is one of the best songs they ever did.
-
Soton better have plans for Kenwyn Jones, cos they wouldn't even extend his loan to the owls. Bugger. Still, let's remember the seven goals in the seven games he played for the club. He's practically become a cult figure inside a month.
-
The Only Ones- 'The whole of the law' The Residents - 'Edweena' Killing Joke - 'Requiem'
-
Yay, I'm a proto-goth! Cheers, Redbaron. I also hate when people say I look like I'm in the killers. I wear suits, they were around before the goddamn fucking killers.

Top Three Most Played Albums in Recent Weeks
PLAGIARISM! replied to Giuseppe Zangara's topic in Music
The Only Ones - The Only Ones Satisfying late 70s Brit punk rock, with 'Another Girl, Another Planet' being the one true timeless classic on it. Swell - ...WELL? Not sure if it quite lives up to the advance billing as 'One of the American albums of the 90s' but it's a grower, great drawling whispery vocals leading up to the twatting of a guitar. Seamonsters is one of my favourite albums ever as well, so it gets solid rotation each week. -
People are starting to buy Sparks compilations. It begins. I got a promo copy of the new Residents, Animal Lover, and holy shit it's fantastic. Starts out like most of their newer stuff, but turns into a genuinely moving collection of haunting ballads. And I also got the reissued Not Available, and I think it's one of their best. Also, Swell - ...WELL? Coil - Gold is the Metal Slint - Spiderland (yeah so I'm slow) Bauhaus - Press The Eject and Give Me the Tape All in the very good-to-good bracket. The Best of The Vapors is merely ok, as if it would ever ascend higher, and as for Teenage Fanclub's Grand Prix, well I'm sure it's OK but I'm going to have to find a time to listen to it when there's no one around to laugh at me for listening to stuff that sounds like it sucks.

I just hate people who like crap. I mean, it's like, don't come in my house with your crap, dude. I'm also alarmed at the percentage of the 16-25 UK population who own one or more idlewild t shirts. Maybe they should be huge. That thought annoys me.
-
Good lad. Whilst Ali G is stale, Borat is still fucking funny.

Rewind: Best of the 80s. Another stoned night in then...
-
I know it's obvious, but 'Equator' originally finished Kimono My House and it's one of sparks' greatest songs. As is 'Suburban Homeboy' off Lil' Beethoven. I agree with 'That Feel' and 'Havalina'. 'Gouge Away' has to get a mention if they do, though. '22 going on 23' is a good'un, also.
-
I know, I first heard about them on some other board and they're just one of the best bands ever. It's not quite as good but you might like the more industrial newer stuff like Send as well.
-
Inc's nailed most of mine, but cos he's silly he missed 'This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both of Us' which is the best debut single ever to crack the UK top ten. Butthole Surfers - 'Jimi' (Even though the 'Day of the Dying Alive' version from HDLSD b sides collection is superior) that's all I can think of at the minute.

Pulp - Help the Aged
