  1. About Bishoff: "He was a sweetheart, he was a good guy." Awww...
  2. This has been a great show so far!
  3. Call in and ask him that very question.
  4. I just finished watching the DVD to get ready for Byte This to night, and I'm hoping for a really good show tonight, and it should be.
  5. Yes, just about thirty minutes from now. http://www.wwe.com/community/bytethis/
  6. If you haven't done so yet, go check out Dusty's video talking about Eddie on WWE.com really quick: "So many young atheletes have fallen...because of that, struggle. And I call it that, uh, I call it 'dying to be in the main event', and what it takes to get there." That is a really heavy quote right there.
  7. Flair dying would shock me, and most others. I've never heard of too many seriously health issues with him, he's in good shape for someone of his age, and it isn't like mid-50's is old. That's still a very young age to die. When Flair and Hogan pass, it'll be a huge news story and will be everywhere.
  8. Maybe it's just a delayed response by WWE concenring Taker.
  9. Then on that point we agree. Even I can sit here and say that I think that anyone who says he should be a main eventer, RIGHT NOW, is indeed just jumping the gun just because of Eddie's death. The fans will be on his side at the very start of the push, so they don't need to worry about that (of course, to a point fans have always seemed to enjoy Chavo). He will not need to worry about being over, especially right now. Then all they need to do is get him on TV, have him win a few matches with no feud involved really starting out with the lower carded guys, and have the only story be just that he's now dedicating his career to his uncle, and he's on a mission to prove the Guerrero name is still very much alive and well. After a few weeks or a month or so, then have him slowly slide into a few actual feuds. By this poing Ric Flair will not be the IC champion anymore, I don't think, and he can either start a program with the IC champion at the time, or maybe not even go that far yet. Maybe around the Royal Rumble time he gets in a feud with a couple of guys over the #1 contendership for the IC title, then his first major victor can come at Wrestlemania, where he actually wins the IC title. Have him carry that belt for an extended period of time, all the while continuting to build his character and everything, and then just go from there. It wont be too long after that point that we know if he really has what it takes to go to that next level. The point, is that it isn't now, it wont be next week, and it wont be in six months from now. A year from now? Well, maybe if they really actually push the guy the way it should be done and as long as he doesn't get hurt. He has what it takes, he just needs to be developed as a character. He already has one hell of a storyline to work with, so it's up to the writers, and himself, now. No, no, no, no, no! I don't think they should ever, ever, mention "Kerwin White" ever again.
  10. I'm not the one who said that, he's obviously not main event material right now. Now months from now, or a couple of years, I can't said and neither can anyone else here. I've seen people go from "not being main event material" to all of a sudden having a career surge, either set off by the powers that be or a personal change in their own life, and they did make it to the top. He's not there now, he wont be next week, he wont be next month, but it wouldn't surprise me to see him there way down the road. He's a great wrestler when he wants to be and when people let him actually work, I've always thought he as entertaining on the mic, and he's had a cool look to him since WCW. If nothing else, he could be a hell of an IC champion. All he needs is a few gimmick changes, personality changes, and overall character changes. The fans will be behind him, he just needs an actual push.
  11. Most people just don't have any idea just how good Chavo Guerrero can really be if they would just allow him to do so.
  12. This was the first Impact that I totally forgot about it also. I really like TNA, I really do, but I still haven't been programmed about the show coming on like I am for the WWE shows. It'll take months before you really know much. What's really going to say a lot about the state of TNA, is how they do in February, where they will be on in RAW's time slot (since RAW wont be on, the damn dog show). If that draws a solid rating, they are well off...if it doesn't, well, I don't know what that'll mean to TNA. NoCalMike is right, we can't expect the many to just accept TNA right away. Someone fill me in on some history really quick. I remember reading a while back that Dixie Carter (or Panda, whichever one it was), I believe that's the name, was sick of JJ and they had decided to slowly lessen the JJ factor on TNA shows. What exactly changed all of that and took it back right to where it has just about always been for TNA?
  13. I've also learned that just working out causes your heart to grow so large that it can possibly kill you.
  14. Shakedown is a great show. Yeah, this has been fair so far, but I didn't really expect anything rough on WWE.
  15. If any of you care, from WWE.com: They also have a bunch of videos, audio with RVD talking about Eddie, and statements from JR.
  16. Why is this news now and not a year or two ago?
  17. "Hurt" Tribute video from RAW: http://www.youtube.com/watch.php?v=PNKeFLFETtM Eddie Guerrero vs. Ken Kennedy - Eddie's last televised wrestling match, from Smackdown: http://www.youtube.com/?v=lOuvbMCvxwY
  18. You are so smart.
  19. What the show needed was a Mark Henry poem.
  20. When I say hard stuff, I'm talking about the blatant overuse of weapons and gimmick matches. You can work a stiff and realistic looking match in a very safe way, but only if you know what you are doing. I will say this though - I wouldn't trust a few of the new WWE guys to do so, because so many of them don't even seem to have the most basic of techniques down. And yes, of course the schedule has a lot to do with it. It wouldn't surprise me to see more and more guys leave WWE, especially after what we've seen the past two days, and what we're likely to see in the upcoming weeks.
  21. It's time to cut down on the really hard stuff, and put more focus back on match psychology.
  22. I've been saying for years that it is time to slowly phase out much of the hard stuff. Stop blading so much, stop using weapons like chairs and everything on every single show. Cut down on the gimmick matches using the ladder and different types of cages. Now only would it be easier on the workers, but when you do see stuff like that it would mean so much more. Put aside the well being of the wrestlers if you want to, I think it'd also just make for a better industry right now. Even though WWE has adopted a "safer style", it seems to me like the guys get hurt more these days than they used to.
  23. I really wish people could just fucking get over Rey's size, ya know? So what if he's small? He has a solid to great match with just about everyone he works with, from guys like Eddie to Kurt Angle all the way up to the bigger guys like JBL. By this point, I'd say many of the fans out there actually buy him as being able to beat the larger guys, since he does so in such exciting fashion. I still say he should be the champ one day. He's a far better worker than most of the guys that they are pushing, and he's over than most if not all of them. One of my favorite lines was from Lawler also, although it wasn't because of his wit. When talking about Eddie he asked him once what he'd ever do if he got a hole-in-one, and Lawler said that he told him he's mark down a zero. If that isn't classic Eddie, I don't know what is.
  24. I'm not saying he's a great worker, we all know he isn't, but I've been hearing from a few people that he's been having a pretty solid series of matches with someone (I forget who though) wherever he is working at right now. What he says is nothing new, we've all known it for years, but just like I said on this very board a year or two ago, it's time for some sort of change.
