  1. Basically, animation of any type is incredibly labor intensive. And ask any business owner you know what the most expensive part of their operating costs is and they will tell you labor. Yes, all movies move slow, sometimes taking a day or two to film one scene and they require a huge crew and support staff, but animation sometimes takes a day or two to do a few frames of action (24 frames = 1 second of film) and requires about the same number of people if you include voice talent.
  2. Nice. And I'm not just saying that because I'm in it.
  3. Well, I guess we'll find out in week #1 if I have a chance at winning this thing. I get to play Thugg. Lucky me.
  4. I would like to be booked against tough opposition and on every show between now and Genesis. Thank you.
  5. Oh Lord, an out-of-kayfabe list could go on for-freakin'-ever. And I'm not upset that the "Commissioner's Angle" is on the list really. More disappointed that something I put together eventually got so complicated that not only did I need an outline to keep it straight but you guys could see all of the seams we had to glue together over and over to try and keep the angle internally consistant. In retrospect, not the shining moment of my career. Although I might still pull out the outline so y'all can see it. If you are going to ridicule it, ridicule it with the facts straight.
  6. I'm kind of shocked that nowhere in the description above does it mention that Mayor McCheese was just that... a man with a giant freakin' hamburger for a head that wore an late 1800's suit and a monocle. And he was a light heavyweight. I think this makes the crucifixtion even sillier. I mean really... picture a giant man with a hamburger for a head hanging on the cross. Oh... and for accuracy's sake I am going to pull out my outline of the "Commissioner's Angle" last year and correct some of the major errors in the synopsis above.
  7. My initial reaction was to say XVII, and I am sure that would have been my answer except now that I've seen "The Mania of Wrestlemania" and I know both that it was Austin's last match and what the Rock and he said to each other at the end... to me it just makes that match mean so much more...
  8. Effectively, Windows XP Service Pack 2 is a "new" operating system. It makes some fundamental changes to the WinXP Operating system. My advice is to wait and install SP2 after most of your software providers say they are Windows XP SP2 ready (or compatible). Don't rush AOL X. I've been through too many AOL upgrades in the last few years as it is. I'm looking to get away from it, but am trapped there currently by the lack of DSL service in my area.
  9. I am both chagrined and upset that the "Commissioner's Angle" made this list. Chagrined because there were a few logic holes and some problems, but upset because, even with all of those things happening, I think it still turned out pretty well and it had at least one awesome moment. Besides, without that storyline to make me Commish, I couldn't be running the angle I am running now. Of course, some people might prefer that anyways... And one way or another, I have to say that Wrathapalooza, McCheese's crucifiction, Hell in a Pokeball and Angel's numerous title shots were far stupider (is that a word?) than my Commissioner's Angle.
  10. My best guess? Both.
  11. One thought on the nature of the Force... Anakin (or Vader, depending on the part of the story) did not bring balance to the Force until Episode VI. It had nothing to do with killing all of the Jedi in the least. Why? Well, here are my thoughts on the matter. I don't remember, outside of Luke explaining to Leia that he wanted to bring his father back to the "Good Side" (which I attribute to a relative novice explaining the complexities of the Force to an average person) I don't remember anyone ever using the term "Light Side" in the movies. Now I don't have my screenplays right here in front of me, but I have a pretty good memory for Star Wars trivia. Therefore, I have to assume that there is no "Light Side" of the Force. There is just the Force. Read the Jedi creed (from the EU, but valid IMHO): There is no emotion, there is peace. There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no passion, there is serenity. There is no death, there is the Force. I think that the Force, as used by the Jedi, is balanced. They were the "Guardians of Peace and Justice", in and of themselves, not purely "Good". The Dark Side is a pervesion of the Force, an unbalancing of all the Jedi hold true about the Force. Thus, the only way to truly "Balance the Force" is to make sure there are no dark side users perverting it. The Force itself doesn't give one whit about good or evil, it knows life and death, and it knows the balance between them. I hope I explained that well. As far as the three sequels? I always assumed there wouldn't be a 7-9. I remember Lucas saying, right after RotJ hit, that while he could tell the story of Anakin Skywalker in 1-3, there wasn't a story to tell in 7-9 so he would likely never make them. Once I understood that the entire Star Wars saga is about Anakin Skywalker and not Luke (or Han, and certainly not the fan-boy fave Boba Fett), I knew there wouldn't be a third trilogy. And if they bear even the most casual resemblance to 90% of the EU, I am thankful. Outside the Zahn Trilogy (which was pretty good) everything else I have read has been unmitigated hack-jobs of the characters. But to each their own... I know a lot of people that love the EU. Hell, I admit to liking the prequels so far, so obviously I am a heathen.

    Heads up!

Response to JD: Duh! Dude, I am 31 years old and spending a pretty big part of my free tme writing wrestling matches for an imaginary fed.

    Heads up!

How many people go to E3? Besides the fact it is only video games, GenCon has video games, role-playing games, card games, board games, war games, live-action games, etc. In addition to all of this there were five anime rooms this year, a 45 or 50 system LAN area, more seminars than you can shake a stick at, a tremendous number of industry pros, celebrities (although the list this year isn't nearly as impressive as some former years) and a dealer's room it took me a good eight or ten hours just to see evrything. Gen Con is huge.

    Heads up!

Gen Con is the world's largest gaming convention. King and I have been going for years. Check it out. That having been said, if any of youse guys are in the Indy area, maybe we can say hello and you can buy us a beer or something. Yes, you are buying... we are legends after all.
  15. Honestly? No, not unless they were obviously dogging it and not trying to play well at all. If they are busting ass, paying hard but just getting their asses handed to them, I would not, and do not, boo them.
  16. Munich... chill out man. Personally, I think the idea of you bringing back the IGNJL EUS Title to defend is pretty cool. But at the same time funny becuase you know that, in kayfabe, the Commissioner is just going to have his panties in a twist over you just "introducing" a title, particuarly one that still carries the "IGNJL" moniker. It is creative thinking like that that will put a guy over and let him "make his push".
  17. I've read the entire thread, and I have to admit that there are a lot of people far more passionate about the crowd's reaction than I am. That being said, regardless of whether or not they had the right to do what they did (they bought a ticket, they can react how they want IMHO) and regardless of how things were to the live audience, I can only report my reactions. I was annoyed by the crowd to the point of not being able to focus on the match. Had I been in the live audience, I would have been more than annoyed, I would have been embarrassed forthem and I would have been pissed that I paid money for the tickets and my enjoyment of the show was impacted by things that had nothing to do with the show itself. Oh, and for the record... I hate the freakin' wave no matter where I see it. Baseball games in particular.
  18. Bigger hooray for Stryke doing the job main eventing dark matches. Man, after I put you over like mad in my CF match... what a shame...
  19. Well, now that I have a match, I am a happy panda!
  20. It hurt a lot, the strike. I love baseball. In fact, my wife says that a line in "For Love of the Game" applies to me pretty well. Paraphrased: "He loved two things in his life: his wife and baseball." In fact, I remember being at work at the Ground Round and hearing Selig cancel the World Series. I was sick to my stomach. I almost asked to gome home. But it didn't kill my love of the game. It just made me a little more cynical and certainly more aware of the huge problems facing it. I think Bob Costas pretty muchnailed how I feel about baseball in his book "Foul Ball."
  21. No match for me? I am a sad panda...
  22. I mentioned Starship Troopers, but I've never read Stranger in a Strange Land. Why? Beats me. It's been on a "must-read" list for me for years, I just never got around to picking up a paperback. Maybe I'll run out and grab it after I'm done reading the book I'm on now.
  23. Ggeo... you're new here, so I will throw the benefit of what I have learned here towards you: Igonre RRR, he's just trying to start an argument. And he is particuarly good at it.
  24. It's things like this that make you realize the cost in pain and quality of life every wrestler pays to entertain us. Some pay more, some get lucky and pay a little less, but everyone gets hurt. I remember reading somewhere that the Hardys started referring to it as "punching the bump card". Everyone gets a certain amount of punches before something bad happens. They all know it is inevitable. And that is why I have a hard time existing alongside many (not all, I don't want to generalize, but there are a lot) Smarks that say things like "so-and-so sucks and he should die." or "I wish they'd get hurt so I wouldn't have to see them wrestle anymore." Yeah, so I may not be Bradshaw's biggest fan recently, and I don't miss Rikishi really. But I respect every wrestler that puts all of that on the line to entertain me. How can you not?
  25. Several people have kicked out of the Walk-Off, but only in huge matches on PPV.
