5th Round of RPG Tourneys 2k4: Good And Evil
Lightning Flik replied to Lightning Flik's topic in Video Games
There will be no seeds until next year and those who ended up where they are right now (top 16) will gain those seeds. The reason it was so random, and that was because I wanted to do it up and just see how different we were from GameFAQs. Obviously, not too terribly different, if we have Cloud making it to the final 8. This doesn't make this Tourney worse than GameFAQs. Just that it was a really tough and some favorites like Kefka and Sephiroth got knocked out early. And really, isn't it humorous to you people that the favorites to win got tossed? In the Villians Tourney, I've got no clue who is possibly going to win that tourney. None at all. Queen Zeal is still alive in it and the reason for her being alive was well explained by someone back in Round 4 I believe. A lot of people say that Queen Zeal is the true boss of Chrono Trigger, and the explanation to it is kind of sound. Hell, I'd like to add I see a lot more females in the final 8 of Heroes and the final 8 of the Villians than I thought I would. I thought for sure Nina would be the only one to survive to this point. Color me surprised she isn't the only one. Especially color me surprised that Zeal made it so far, considering how few female villians there are. -

^ what he said. Wow. Simply wow. That is definitely The Batman, as he should be. This will be interesting to see if the movie is as good as all the special stuff is. -

The first hour of RAW was beat out by Fairly Odd Parents?! The first hour of RAW was beat out by a CARTOON? TWO SHOWS OF A CARTOON? ...damn. That's just really, really, sad.
-
Actually, you COULD do this on a show, just have a pictorial of what's happening and stuff and technically it should work. Of course, you'd have to admit you weren't taking yourself seriously, and anyone in Pro. Wrestling does so... *shrugs* Meh. Anyways, funs all around Crowe. Nice stuff.

Ah, ok. It was just so "there" that I was kinda "hm... I'm quite sure that's sarcastic, but I wanna check base as maybe he's seeing something I don't." And frankly, I don't see anything at all in the guy. Once again, Kingpk. Nice job.
-
-Another Mordecai promo. Yeah, that guy’s gonna last. ^couldn't tell whether that was sarcastic or not. Otherwise, welcome back and spot on with the review. JD is looking less than basic right now and right now, I wish there was a RAW PPV for me to buy instead.

Too everyone who didn't want Tampa Bay sitting at home, you will now be disappointed as they will be.
-
Nah, pardon mine. I should've guessed that. My bad.
-
Excuse me, didn't I just say that I would've if I did live near it?
-
Christian is the best person to pair up with RVD.
-
If I lived anywhere NEAR there, you better believe I would show. Sadly, I'm Westside, so that ain't happening.

Does this really work What Ever?
-
Lunch Special anyone? Definitely got a chuckle out of me.
-
Um... Ok. If you say so. I don't think it is, but to his his own.

Actually, the only thing I didn't pay attention to was the Sophia backgorund on the first time through. That and I had finals to worry about at the time, XG went on the backbunner for at least a month. I needed a refresher course.
-
For a lot of people though, Rant it was. Even to me, it felt like it dragged. And there was some stuff I didn't really pay attention to in the beginning that I should've, so I had to turn around and restart when I finally got back into it. That second disk really didn't do many favors for that game. Didn't hurt it badly, but kinda dragged me down.

TSM Head-to-head FantasyBaseball League~!
Lightning Flik replied to Lightning Flik's topic in Sports
Am I the only person who finds it really interesting that only 6 teams are above .500? I mean that's just insane, that the teams really are quite similar to one another. Since there really isn't much seperation yet between team rankings. -
The only problem you might have Marney with XenoGears is that Disk 2 drags really badly, due to cost cutting as the game had taken a year and a half to develop at that point, so they cut and condensed at the end.

You know, Z, I'd shut up about her asking about RPGs to pick up. Just because someone asks, does not mean you need to go out of your way to shit on them for it, just because it has been done before. If you don't like it, don't bother responding. My personal recommendation is KOTOR off the bat. Doesn't nearly hit all the things you want, but most of them. Lots to do, and your game is never the same twice, so always a bonus. Another one would be Arc The Lad: Twilights of Spirits for the PS2. Quite a solid game. The battles and the graphics are pretty good, but the downfall to the game is if you played the rest of the Arc The Lad Series, as the story doesn't really hold up to the rest of it. Still quite good overall. If you like customisation a lot, I'd recommend Shining Soul 2 as it lets you build your character how you like. Battles aren't really random as it plays out more along the lines of Secret of Mana, not much for weapon creating (which is a pain to get right), however, it is on the GBA so a good quick grab and go game. Skies of Arcadia: Legends for the Gamecube is another one I'd say pick up. Has a pretty good battle system, is a little different, and random battles a plenty (so many battles of randomness). Other Recommendations: Grandia II - PS2 (might be a little hard to find nowadays, I might be able to hook you up with one, if I check with my local Microplay, but only if you don't find it. While the customization isn't there, it is a pretty good one overall. I liked it. Disgaea - PS2: fun game, customization, and horse wieners of dangerous porportions. How can you go wrong with this? Tales Of Symphonia - Gamecube: From everything I heard, this game will be a great pick up for any RPGer. Final Fantasy: Crystal Cronicles - Gamecube: If you can get 3 other people together, this game is just great all around fun. And shit, do you need to actually communicate so well. While you do need a GBA (SP) to play it, it is definitely worth while giving it a chance. Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter - PS2: Quite an interesting twist on this game, as it isn't your standard fair for RPGs. And not only that, I think this game is highly underrated (elsewhere than this board). Games I'd Suggest, But Not Writing Up Stuff Unless You Ask: Wild Arms (Series) - PS1/2 Suikoden (Series) - PS1/2 Tales of Eternia (Known here as Tales of Destiny 2) - PS2 Fire Emblem - GBA Arc The Lad: The Collection - PS1 CIMA: The Enemy - GBA Lunar (Series) - PS1 Kingdom Hearts - PS2 Kartia: The Word of Fate - PS1 Vagrant Story Valkyrie Profile

Ahem, it says "in addition to Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon"! So weee!!! We get Shining Force games! I'm thinking that the Shining Force game, is probably a remade Shining Force 3 for those of us who didn't get to play it on Dreamcast. As for Shining Tears, I'm not sure about it. Just from the name, I'm gathering that this one will be a very eye soring (in a good way) game.
-
Just so you know, Shining Worlds is not open till 30th of this month. However, we got two new Shining games! And they aren't remakes! I wonder if we'll see Shining Force 4? And what the hell is Shining Tears? Damn, I can't wait for E3 (as we'll find out more than). I love Shining Force.
