  1. Oh yeah, I'm not arguing that wouldn't be a nice Raw but for actual wrestling talent, the Raw roster is pretty thin . . . hell the WWE roster is pretty thin. Actually, a Benjamin/Edge feud would be a helluva program once Benjamin drops the gold.
  2. Why didn't WCW commercially release MANY of their ppvs? SuperBrawl IV, Souled Out 1997/1998, Fall Brawl 1997, & Spring Stampede 1998 just to name a few.
  3. Why would Benoit want to fight Jericho? "Well, it'd be a helluva technical wrestling match." Regal/HHH would obviously be great to watch as long as Regal works stiff. But, it'd make no sense unless Benoit wants to throw away his World Title shot. Benjamin/Edge would be A-OK. Orton/Christian . . . What's the score of that MNF game? Eugene/Flair would be pure entertainment, not technical wrestling.
  4. How the hell could Benoit (or anyone) be able to book a QUALITY two hour technical wrestling show with the roster presented to him?
  5. I don't think the Benoit character cares about the other feuds going on Raw. He just wants the World Title. So him just having the other wrestlers decide who they want to face seems consistent w/ his character. He doesn't seem like the type to sit at his desk w/ a pen and paper and think of all these neat-o matches for the fans.
  6. I dug Summertime Blues and hated everything else. Although, I do like "The End" song they usually play for Armageddon.
  7. Thanks!
  8. Shockingly not everybody that applies for a commentator job with the WWE is a Mike Tenay or a Paul Heyman. I'm pretty sure I remember reading in the Observer that Grisham got his role pretty much on the basis that he is knowledgable in pro wrestling and knew a lot about the product and industry when he was interviewed for the role. Not everyone however is entirely comfortable in front of a camera or working within guidelines at the beginning, look at how bad Michael Cole was when he started with the company. If one is not comfortable in front of a camera, why would that person apply for an on camera job?
  9. No, it was live. The only PPV's the WWF taped and aired later were No Holds Barred: The Match and SummerSlam 1992. -=Mike Didn't they tape WrestleMania 2, in the different locations and show them in the order they wanted? I believe it was only taped on the West Coast where they saw the LA portion first then moved on to NY then CHI . . . so if you were in LA, The Bulldogs vs. Dream Team was your WM2 Main Event. Not bad.
  10. So, everything's cool if he promotes next week's Heat Main Event as Chris BenOYT vs. Steven Richards?
  11. Don't hang him, just find someone who has expertise in wrestling to commentate wrestling matches. Not a difficult concept.
  12. On the Benoit dvd, he pronounced Lyger's name JUH-shin Lyger instead of JEW-shin Lyger and had to be corrected by Benoit.
  13. The JUHSHIN Lyger comment killed off Grisham as anyone w/ any wrestling knowledge. But he is a supposed expert on Sports Entertainment.
  14. Was Lenny Lane supposed to join MIA? I seem to remember in 2000 he was carrying around a "USE ME" sign. I figured it was a natural fit that he would join the MIA but he disppeared again. Any explanation on what went on? Thanks.
  15. McMahon did it for WM2 as he introduced Ray Charles to sing America the Beautiful.
  16. Just wanted to add my appreciation.
  17. I was just dubbing the Greater Power ep of Raw for someone and after the bikini contest w/ Debra and Nicole Bass, Debra pecked Lawler on the cheek which prompted him to let out an "OHHHH!!!" in excitement. Then, JR quips, "Good thing King is wearing black tights." BUT, Lawler was wearing red tights. Doh!
  18. What the heck was Nash doing when Awesome attacked him on the 4/10/2000 Nitro? He was just standing in the middle of the ring w/ a big, dumb, goofy smile on his face when Awesome ambushed him. Pretty funny actually. I assume he was just cutting a promo but I just wanted to point it out. What exactly was Jericho doing w/ the markerboard in the buildup to Starrcade 1998 on Nitro. There was a clip of it on Starrcade 1998 where Jericho whomps the Konnan imposter and there's a markerboard perched in the ring. Can anyone explain? Thanks again!
  19. For reference sake, that's on the InVasion ppv (July 2001).
  20. He used to phone it in big time when he did Action Zone w/ Todd Pettingill. JR sounded so ashamed that he was calling midget tag matches w/ a goof. He played along but w/ 1/1000 of the energy as when Austin got hot.
  21. In all fairness, even Vince didn't know what he was thinking when he jobbed Tazz out like a bitch to HHH. He said how he "must of thought it was a good idea at the time."
  22. Eh, I picked up the book w/dvd for $5.98 at Half Price Books so I can't complain about it. Great place to find ol rasslin books for supah cheap.
  23. The foreplay should be a hoot, but I ain't watching anything after that.
  24. Sort of. They held a Clash at the indoor portion of Ceasar's Palace, but not the outside part where WM IX was held. Those shows came in January of 1995 and 1996. As for a semi-rare outdoor show WCW had some matches one ep of WCW Saturday Night in Mayish of 1995 from "Speed Street". They held the Slim Jim Challenge there where the winner got a TV Title Shot at Bash at the Beach 1995 (another outdoor show). Orndorff won by defeating Duggan in the finals and Pillman in the semis. Duggan beat Big Bubba to advance . . . could be wrong, this is all off of memory. They also had a squash or two out there in the rain. In the arena, they had 2nd Round matches for the WCW US Title Tournament and was also Stunning Steve's last match of any impact getting beat by Macho Man Randy Savage in about three or so minutes. Kind of sad.
  25. In GB's defense, he probably barely noticed Luger's bunt-like swing of the chair. But yeah, that looked pretty bad.
