  2. he's right. hollaback girl grew me on me. but the former was fucking great from the first second i heard it. cool is pretty fab as well. I agree wholeheartedly with this. Songs not mentioned in this post are ass, however.
  3. ZORIN! STAY THIS TIME!
  4. http://www.youtube.com/watch.php?v=DuWAwtdWUoY&search=WWE If that link works, it's a link to the Rock's return to Raw to make the "this is my home and if you don't want to be here, then leave" speech after Austin walked out. He really said WWE was his home and in his blood and all that, but then he was already gone after doing the job of putting over Lesnar. Now he barely mentions wrestling and is very distant from the business as a whole. Of course, he's pulling down more money with less stress on his body and an easier schedule, but us wrestling fans (admit it) feel kinda jealous about him. I know I do anyway. At the time he faced Hogan at Wrestlemania XVIII he was in top form, both in-ring and on the microphone, and even if he was starting to get a little out of hand when talking he was still able to make his opponent look strong and credible. So let's say the guy actually lives up to his promise and we have Rock with the company through, say, Wrestlemania XX. Think about how much was in flux during the middle of 2002, as the roster split and injuries and departures were all going on at once over the summer before the co-owners idea was dropped in favor of general managers. Fortunately they stuck with that approach, which was followed by a comparative renaissance on Smackdown during the fall and winter while Raw had HHH, and lots of 'im. We all know this crap. But what would the realistic effects have been of The Rock sticking around after SummerSlam 2002, back on Smackdown, as he was drafted onto the show originally? Maybe Hogan would have stuck around to job to Lesnar since Lesnar and Rock would have probably continued their program into the fall. So what about the Smackdown Six? Do they even get the airtime to put on all those crazy-ass matches? I think it would have ended up like early-to-mid 2000 was, with a load of strong contenders underneath an extremely good champion in Lesnar and three other main-eventers in Benoit, Angle, and Undertaker. Rock's job would have to be to move back to the upper-midcard like in the fall of 1999 to keep that pool of solid contenders and midcarders going, which would help the eventual US Title and Smackdown Tag Titles flourish. Just some thoughts I had while watching this. Anyone else feel the same?
  5. Panthers/Giants will be the game of the week.
  6. Which isn't one of the bowls put off by NFL games on Sunday. New Year's Day is for college football. CBS wasn't showing any bowls, and Fox only had the early Cotton Bowl, which would be over in time to at least show a 4PM game. ESPN has no primetime bowls, so they could still show the Sunday night game.
  7. I don't get how people can't get into this holiday. It's like, the only one where no one can possibly be left out. Must be the same thing that keeps us all from voting.
  8. "Mark" is more than a wrestling term. Saying we're smart marks means (at least in name) we're able to see past all the ways the culture tries to fool us and write about things in an informed, even-handed manner.
  9. This year looks pretty good so far. I can build on this.
  10. FINALLY MIK DOESN'T LIKE ME AND SAYS SO
  11. NO ONE NEEDS CREDIT
  12. I can't wait for the next entry about how dumb we are. durrrrr
  13. Beat me to it. I don't think Mike ever really posted in HD. He'd venture in for the occasional scrap with people who insulted him while claiming he didn't care all along the way, for pages and pages. He NEVER won with his schtick in here.
  14. Sikh See, I didn't say Indian because it makes people think of our American ones.
  15. We're changing the name?
  16. They got disrespected twice this year already. Ain't happening again.
  17. DITKA! Hey, what do you guys think of the "The Top 5 Reasons You Can't Blame..." series on ESPN Classic?
  18. Okay, we're pretty much past the teams I don't know much about. There's no way in hell I finish next to last.
  19. Hey Dama, please shorten that sig. At least hack off the little message at the end.
  20. Edwin MacPhisto and Incandenza
  21. Oklahoma looks real good next year.
