I'd put Penn State in Ohio State's place. Their only loss was on a freak "we're gonna see this on ESPN Classic for a while" highlight play, after they'd thought they'd secured the win with less than a minute left (I think). C'mon, man.

I would take Wisconsin if it wasn't at Happy Valley. I feel they're better and really want to see them take the Big Ten, but that is a huge crowd. Miami beats VT, and I'm unbelieveably happy that we fired Randy Sanders. Maybe now we'll have a shot to beat the spread this weekend. I'll even fly out on a limb and say Tennessee pulls an upset. Has Notre Dame's (justifiably) hyped offense faced a super physical defense yet? Say what you want about being a conference homer, but you can't discount Tennessee's pounding defense. Anyone who's seen a single game of theirs could tell you they're a top ten team if they just had an offense that could score some fucking points to at least honor the defensive team's effort.

The other Jedi went down like real motherfuckers. She's just all "ah! I tripped!" I'll accept that Mace was a better fighter and Anakin was plan B. I always emphasized that Mace was just beating Palpatine in that fight and wasn't stronger in the Force itself or anything. Was the bonus disc the same as the one that came with the soundtrack? (I haven't bought it yet, believe it or not) I liked that whole feature, I guess because it revolved around the music.

The city is indispensable though, financially, culturally, and logistically (would you like to find homes for 500,000 people?). They had the right idea when the place was founded, but its own success is what lead to spreading into unsafe areas. The roots of everything that happened extend back 250 years, but none of that absolves failing to heed warnings and spending a small amount immediately instead of a massive amount later, and that isn't even taking the human toll into account. The $14b system wouldn't have been completed in time for Katrina which must be said, but the system was also for a lot more than the New Orleans area, and I'd imagine that's where they'd complete their work first, with about a year to spare (I believe the levee proposal was drawn up and proposed in 2001).

Christians didn't fuck up the planet. I don't get how anyone can not notice that the effects of Europeans' spreading out and advancing themselves have already shown to have many long-term negatives. Imagine how beautiful this place probably was before the Industrial Revolution. We're trying to take these sorts of things into account with any kind of new development or technology now, but years and years and years of accelerated wear on the planet have done a lot of damage already. The initiative is there, and we're gaining some new perspective on things thanks to advancements before it. All in all, we had to destroy the planet to make it totally efficient, if that makes any sense. And that's looking at this from an environmental perspective. S'far as the colonizing of the world went, it's not like anyone's really still doing that anymore (economic colonialism is way easier, and less bloody), so whitey gets off the hook on that one too. I don't hold anyone alive responsible for anything in the last 50 years or so. Saying something happened in the past, like "White people ruined the world" is completely fair, given history and what we're discovering about our ecosystem. It isn't "white people are ruining the world."
