Dude, the joke is right there. Geez.

If Miami and Penn State weren't in the same boat, I'd say LSU was the scariest one-loss team out there, fo rillz.

Man, a big win that was non-conference. I will have a winning record, dammit.

Dama, the #2 team in the SEC goes to the Citrus Bowl. Cotton's usually reserved for the #3 team. AND GODFUCKINGDAMMIT CAN WE STOP TALKING ABOUT MARGINS OF VICTORY?? IF YOU WIN, YOU WIN. If Alabama manages to make it through the SEC undefeated playing like they are, then they deserve at least a big-ass trophy for an undefeated season where the entire team was forced to score. Alabama/Miami in the Sugar Bowl is an extremely appealing matchup to me for some reason.

WHY IS VT WEARING THOSE UGLY-ASS JERSEYS AGAIN That's another reason why I like college more than the pros. They look like football players are supposed to look. Half the teams in the NFL look like their jerseys are fucked up art projects gone wrong. Miami's almost picked off Vick twice now. Better keep it on the ground, Marky Mark.

Chippendale's Rescue Rangers. Give 'em helmets and say they're from the firehouse of hot lovin'.

Yo, before that ND game last year he was looking phenomenal, and then he got his shoulder rocked. I'm almost fed up with the guy, but those games he played last year remind me that there's talent somewhere under there, Fulmer's just gotta find a way to get it out of him again and also get the boy to grow some balls. People get injured, Erik. Get used to it.

One and Only Star Wars Geekiness Thread

Hey, at least Ben Burtt wasn't on the commentary team. It makes the still-just-as-useless commentary at least listenable. -
Steve-O does all the stuff I have to look away for anyway. Good.

Goooooooooooo "who cares" games! Central Florida holding on (17-3 over Houston at the half) would give me the win without having to wait to see if my Miami pick was really as dumb as the media is making it sound.

Guys, UCLA has 'em right where they want 'em. I'm not ashamed at all of the Vols' performance today (though work prevented me from watching). Turnovers are a killer, but they kept plugging away and came back. That's huge for a team that really had no reason to go out there and try. From what I've read of who played and all that, it looks like Fulmer's in full Next Year mode. Ainge had damn well better regain his skills during the offseason. Kentucky and Vanderbilt remain, and we've gotta win both to simply be ELIGIBLE for a bowl. Half of me wants to see them not be invited to a bowl to jar everyone up in Big Orange country to get serious and not listen to the hype (this has been an even worse version of the embarassing 2002 season, when they were #4 in the preseason coming off of a huge bowl win over a strong opponent, sound familiar?). We play best when there are no expectations anyway. Can't explain it, but over the years we've sucked the meat missile every time we were expected to do well. Thus, I end my "Tennessee never gets any respect" angle to my fandom and usher in the more subdued "don't sleep on Tennessee" angle. Notre Dame's good all the way to a BCS bowl as long as they don't let that Navy game next week fuck 'em up. Fuck all this talk about having to win by so much and blow other teams out and all that bullshit. That's another reason I love the SEC so much. No one except Florida ever tries to blow anyone out. You win, you leave. Let the other team have some dignity. Beating someone 62-0 doesn't tell me you're good, it tells me your coach is an asshole. God I hate Texas. EDIT: BC lost to UNC? I know UNC's pretty decent this year and all, but that makes the only strong win I felt Virginia Tech had look like crap. Miami's gonna reassert itself tonight and remind VT they're not quite in the tippity-top realm of programs yet.

Gimme a microphone and two hours, we'll talk about everything.

When you play street ball style and get all crazy on offense, you always end up sucking when it ain't yo street.

Oh snap, I gotta look this up.

Great, my win is going to rely on all those "who cares" games.

And USC's weak link has long been recognized as their own defensive unit. With the exception of the beatdown on Wazzou, USC hasn't been the best at keeping their opponents at a safe distance, relying on their sensational offense (which I call the best in the country). I doubt USC's defense could rough up ND's receivers and O-line the same as a desperate Tennessee squad. The Vols also tend to win these games where they have little to no chance according to the bookies and analysts. They weren't supposed to beat Florida in Spurrier's last home game, they weren't supposed to go down to the Orange Bowl and beat Miami, and they weren't supposed to beat LSU at Death Valley this year. I can easily see this game being like the Miami game, where it might not be the most exciting to watch, but Tennessee manages to contain ND just enough to win.

The worst is that people seem to have forgotten all of this now that gas prices have abated. Surely all the problems are fixed if oil prices are going down!

I wonder what kind of conflict those Swift Boat guys had in their personal lives. It's gotta be difficult to go out there and rip apart a former fellow soldier, especially since they were full of shit. Anyone think that F 9/11 ended up having any kind of influence, intended or not?

I was wondering when this was going to go down ever since Cooper started co-anchoring NewsNight. S'long as they don't fuck with my Situation Room, it's all good. It's a daily rite to come home from work and turn The Situation Room on to see what's going on any day. Wolf Blitzer is my main man.
