I just want to know how Joe friggin' Gibbs doesn't keep a timeout for the end of the game if he needs it.

Any team from a conference that has a conference title game is guaranteed at least two hard games a year, that title game and the ensuing bowl should they win the conference. Oklahoma has those two, plus Texas and (some years) Oklahoma State. I'd say 3-5 (five being the number if another Big XII team happens to be good that year) rough games a year is standard.

Goddamn, I loves me some SEC football. LSU/Georgia and Auburn/Tennessee ON THE SAME DAY! What other conference has such fucking huge games week in and week out?

I know they want to have real wrestler names and stuff, but couldn't they have changed it to something that wasn't "Snitsky?" How in the wide world of sports can anyone sound imposing with a name like Snitsky?

Tennessee has had Notre Dame and friggin' MIAMI as non-conference games the last several years, with the second Notre Dame encounter this year (which should prove way more interesting since they blew in 2001). It would seem that these teams that people "don't want any of" were welcomed to Rocky Top. Miami themselves scheduled tough non-conference games every year (Florida State [who themselves scheduled Notre Dame, promptly losing to them even], Florida, Tennessee) before they joined the ACC. I give props to Oklahoma for scheduling Alabama for those couple of years, but that's about it.

Picking South Carolina in any game is madness anyway. Unless you're betting on Lou Holtz having a heartattack on the sidelines.

I want an Oklahoma/Tennessee game, just because they're two perennial powerhouses and never really seem to interact much.

Today marks my Two Year, Six Month, and Eight Day anniversary of posting here. As opposed to the one in LSD, this is the real suicide thread.

I think if we can take Auburn out, we have a very good chance against Georgia. Only problem is that two of our Big Three games (Florida, Auburn, Georgia) are at home, with the hardest one being between the hedges. Point is, this week's a revenge game for us. Last year we were in the same position. Cracked the Top 10 for the first time after a tremendous win in Gainesville, then went down to Auburn and let Cadillac run all over us, not even getting an offense together until the 4th quarter, by which time it was too late. We never really recovered from that game. Tennessee might have its own perceived weakness as its greatest asset. I certainly didn't think of it, but the rebuilding year a lot of fans envisioned is letting us run under the radar somewhat. People are so worried about the teams that are supposed to be good now that they forget all about the Vols. The LSUs, the Georgias, and the like are all proving to be somewhat underwhelming (although LSU is still better than Georgia) while we sneak in the back door. Like I said before, the Florida game is our whole season every year. A great win against them and at home no less has us ready to take on the world.

What an emotionally and physically draining win over Louisiana Tech by my boys. We were lucky to get out of that one alive. ... I joke now because next week is going to be HARD.
