Portland won the championship in their first ever trip to the playoffs... does that count? I realize that's probably not what you're talking about, but I just wanted to get that in...
-
Hey Commish, I need a ruling: does a tribute album count as a compilation?
-
Well, that wasn't the Marvin Gaye album I was going to take, but I see now that TheOriginalOrangeGoblin is going to take a lot of R&B albums from me.
-
Well now, I wouldn't say that...

I'm going to have to beg to differ with Milky; There are at least three rap albums that I personally think are better, starting with this one: The first four songs are four of the tightest rap songs to come out in the nineties and, quite frankly, I think that the rest of the album is underrated, too. My actual favorite song on the album is the catchy "Stranded on Death Row," followed closely by "Let Me Ride." I just hope I didn't make the mistake of picking this too high; there were two other albums I wanted to pick ahead of this one, but I was afraid that someone else might go for this first.

Okay, pardon my impertinence, but I'm dying to know: what does a person who doesn't like sports talk about? I mean, I can understand not liking all sports, but I can't imagine not liking any sports. I'd like to know where you are that you can know more than two people that don't like sports at all... -
Raja Bell put up an oh-fer in thirty-six minutes, and they lost by six; I wouldn't wave the white flag just yet, if I were Phoenix.

Of course not; why would it be any different from the first 22 years of the franchise's Sac-era history? Even when we were good, free agents didn't want to go there... because it's fucking Sacramento. In fact, since moving to California, the Kings have signed exactly two significant free agents, three if you count John Salmons, which I don't. That's why we need the cap space: the only way we're going to get a significant player is via trade or the draft, and teams that are under the cap don't have to take back equal salary in a trade.

Let's Talk About...Wrestlemania V
Mr. S£im Citrus replied to Bruiser Chong's topic in General Wrestling
I loved the commentary during the Bushwackers/Rougeaus match, for the simple reason that Jesse admitted to being wrong at the end of the match... stuff like that only added to Ventura's greatness, in my opinion: it made him come across as more legitimate, as opposed to other heel commentators, like Heenan. When Ventura admitted that a heel got outwrestled or beat clean, and didn't act like it was the end of the world, it made me take him more seriously when he would bash the babyface... I loved the commentary during Warrior/Rude, as well: I agree with whomever said that the match itself was somewhat disappointing, but the commentary made that match watchable, in my opinion. Plus, I know that the Heenan/Monsoon tandem is sainted around here, and I don't disagree that they were very good, but Ventura/Monsoon has always been my favorite, followed closely by Ventura/Ross. -
How would YOU kill the ENTIRE WWE in 5-10 minutes?
Mr. S£im Citrus replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
I'd just job everyone to Hornswoggle. Not even joke matches, let him legitimately beat everyone. WM 25: versus For the WWE Championship: Hell... in a CELL! -
Well damn, TheOriginalOrangeGoblin got me for my Number 1 pick: I consider this to be one of the top 5 R&B albums of all time, and the record that put Prince on the map...

Dude, forget '92... watch '89; Hogan at his cheatin' best, and Ventura apoplectic about all of it... -

This guy did: And that, among other reasons, is why he's my favorite wrestling announcer of all time... -
Sounds interesting... I'll play; I've got no chance to win, but it sounds like fun.

I think you're safe there, Annie; nobody's heard from Johnny since December... not even me... Great promo, by the way. (y)

long story short, he doesn't want to lose his bird rights to be signed over the salary cap, plain and simple. I doubt Dallas will resign him anyway though given that hes been out of the rotation most of the season, crying about wanting to be traded and then blocking it when he did get traded. The Mavs can always throw Keith Van Horn or any other guy whos rights they havent renounced in the deal to make it happen. Re-sign him? If I were Cuban, I would outright waive him, just for the aggravation he's caused me. EDIT - and given what big fucking babies professional athletes tend to be, it'll be interesting to see how Harris, Diop etc play for the Mavericks going forward.

Dude, you've got to share that with the league; that's hilarious.

SWF "Can't Get A Date" (Card)
Mr. S£im Citrus replied to King Cucaracha's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
You'll never break my record for being uncool! -
You make that sound like a bad thing! That's because it is! The whole appeal of this fed is the competition: you pitting your writing ability against another writer, and ostensibly exerting your will over your opponent. I'm against anything that's going to migrate us away from that, in any way.
-
Okay, let me try and spell it out then: As everybody here knows, the WCC is tops for the Wildchild character, because that's how I wish it to be; he regards that as the premier championship in the SWF, and that's the way I like it. I'm not exactly looking for someone to be as fanatic about it as I am, but I would like to find someone that considers it to be a goal worth aspiring to, rather than as a stepping stone to something else... if such a writer/character ever comes along, I'd like to try to turn over the Cruiserweight division to them and, unless Johnny crawls back out from whatever rock he's hiding under, I will then "retire" the WC character and switch to writing Bruner full time. When I asked Bo if S.I.N. needed a manager, it's because I could see the potential in a partnership between him and Mister Bruner, with both managed by Sir Marvelous. And, that would be a rather suitable rival for the VDN, if I must say...
