  1. I would have loved to, but I don't have time to come up with anything; I'll be hard-pressed to have enough time just to finish the match. I'll get it done though, by God; I'll find something that I can blow off to get it finished, if I have to...
  2. Yeah except the Male teachers aren't going after the popular, attractive, horny blonde with the big breasts, that looks like she should be in porn rather then math class...They're not? Are you sure about that? Really? I'm still trying to figure out how someone arrives at the conclusion that, if a male teacher has sex with a female student, that it's almost certainly because the girl is emotionally fragile and the teacher is some kind of manipulative sexual predator, but if a female teacher has sex with a male student, not only is that never the case, but it's probably because the teacher was "open for business" anyway. Basically, according to NoCalMike (unless I've completely misread his posts, which I'll concede is possible), female teachers who have sex with students only do so with handsome, horny young boys with healthy self-esteem, and male teachers who have sex with students only do so with ugly, overweight young girls with poor self esteem. Apparently, in NoCalMike's world, male teachers never try to sleep with attractive teenage girls, and attractive teenage girls never want to sleep with male teachers... I know it's been a while since I personally went through high school, but I find both those concepts hard to believe.
  3. "Sir Marvelous" is based entirely on a friend of mine, an old shipmate from when I was stationed aboard the USS Harry S. Truman. And when I say based on him, I mean Sir Marvelous looks like the guy, talks like the guy, and more or less acts like the guy. The guy upon which Marvelous is based is also the biggest Flair mark I've ever met, and has a tendency to imitate Flair's mannerisms; "Sir Marvelous" is actually a name he gave himself. As I've mentioned a couple of times before, when I originally joined the fed, instead of the Wildchild, I was going to write as a character upon whom WC was part of the prototype for; in fact, my original character concept was actually who I had intended for WC to mature into: as in, he starts out wrestling as Wildchild, and then, over the course of several years, he matures as a person and as a wrestler, and his style progressively evolves, until eventually he develops into my original concept character. After several months of writing WC, I decided instead to give him a background that was distinctly different from that OC, and I have continued in that direction ever since. What I have not previously said about that OC was that he was supposed to be one-half of a tag team. I was originally going to join up with my best friend, and we were going to write as a tag team; the "Sir Marvelous" character (based on our mutual friend) was going to be our manager. But, my friend got cold feet at the last minute, and I ended up joining by myself. I didn't want to debut my OC as a singles wrestler, and I also didn't want to risk ruining my "best" character in case it turned out that I wasn't any good at this, so I went with WC instead. And, since my OC is a heel, and WC is a face, and Sir Marvelous was going to be a heel (and I would prefer him to be portrayed as a pro-heel host, if anyone decides to use him), I didn't want to pair them up. Anyway, that's the abridged version of the origin of Sir Marvelous. I'm sorry if I didn't explain the name thing to satisfaction.
  4. Just about three years ago, I wrote the first HOLT report for the purpose of enhancing a then-ongoing storyline between Wild & Dangerous and Justice & Rule. I'd always meant for the HOLT to be part of my lasting contribution to the fed (for whatever that's worth) and, after my storyline, I offered it up for everyone to use. Unfortunately, people eventually stopped giving me stuff to put in it, and it was only a matter of time before I ran out of new ideas, so I stopped doing it altogether... You see, some time ago, people started writing these "swf.com exclusive" promos to describe all the stuff that was going on with their characters that didn't make it onto the show. And, while they've all been great, that was the exact sort of stuff that the HOLT report was dependent on to sustain itself (HOLT does stand for Happened Off Live Tv, after all), so when people all started to do the ".com exclusive" promos, the HOLT really ceased to be useful. So now, I've got this House of Marvelous thing. I was going to debut the House of Marvelous two years ago, but I needed for the WC/MVS storyline to run its course before I did that, and since Mike left the fed rather abruptly before that happened, Sir Marvelous went back into storage... Call me whatever you want, but I've always been the sort of wrestling fan who believes that the opening promo segment should be reserved for the legitimate main event/upper midcard characters. But, I also happen to be of the opinion that there should be some reasonably high-profile segment on the show for the rest of the talent (or whatever upper midcarder didn't get the opening promo). And, as a kid, I was always a really big fan of the interview segments like the Body Shop, and even the Brother Love show. Plus, dialogue > monologue, AFAIC, so it's always better to have someone else to play your character off of, something that bland face interview guys like Ben "Craig DeGeorge" Hardy can never quite pull off... So, the question is, do any of you guys have any interest in the House of Marvelous? If it's kept around after Genesis, is anybody going to use it? EDIT - There was supposed to be a poll, but apparently I'm retarded or something...
  5. Based on some of the nominations in the other threads, Ramadomination seems like the front-runner for PPV of the year.
  6. The Fallen Tag Team Trophy - For Tag Team of the Year If Va'aiga was reliable, TKO could have been the next truly great tag team. But, he wasn't, so Flesher/Matthews The Midnight Carnival Cup - For Stable of the Year Magnificent Seven on a write-in; they don't make stables like they used to. The Ace of Clubs Trophy - For Heel of the Year Landon Maddix The Grand Slam Trophy - For Face of the Year Jimmy the Doom The Cyclone Comet Trophy - For Promo Writer of the Year Bruce Blank The Nathaniel Kibagami Trophy - For Promo of the Year MANSON: Might Makes Right The William Hearford & Toxxic Trophy - For Rookie of the Year Akira Kaibatsu
  7. There's no way in hell that I deserve votes for WOY, but thanks for the consideration: The Jayson Grant Memorial Trophy - For Wrestler of the Year Tom Flesher The Divefire Memorial Trophy - For Comeback Wrestler of the Year Aecas; it was short-lived, but he did win a title, so he gets my vote. The Pay-Per-View Match of the Year Award Kevin Coyote vs Longdogger Pete, From the Fire '06 The Non-PPV Match of the Year Award ELM vs JJ Johnson, 2/8/06 Lockdown The Feud of the Year Award Michael Stephens vs Landon Maddix The Jay Dawg Improvement Award - For Most Improved Wrestler Bruce Blank The Axis Memorial Trophy - For Under-Appreciated Wrestler Jimmy the Doom The Rane Memorial Trophy - For Most Impressive Career Tom Flesher
  8. Angle extension? I've been milking this angle for two fucking years... you want me to drag it out some more?
  9. Will Strangler call the match down the middle? Will Toronto become the SWF's Montreal? Only time will tell.
  10. :: shrugs :: Like I said before, my bust; that'll teach me to actually read the whole match description. It's not like I'm worried about never getting another title shot...
  11. I'm just saying; had I known that, I would have turned in a competitive match, instead of one that ended in a no contest to advance my storyline. Oh well, it's on me anyway, I guess; it isn't the first match I've lost because I didn't fully read the card, and it probably won't be the last... I've really got to learn to do more than just glance at the header and skip ahead to the word limit; I mean, if it doesn't say "contendership match" or "title match" or "no dq" match in big bold letters, more often than not, I just overlook it...
  12. Wait, what? When did that Birdman/Zyon match get retconned into a title shot?
  13. I got over it.
  14. Well, I won't be doing any bandwidth-intensive stuff on it; I basically just want to be able to browse a few web pages on my lunch break, and maybe a little email/personal writing (which is why I'm leaning towards laptop over PDA). Anything major can wait until I get home. I might try to stream some music, but that'd definitely be as BW-intensive as I'd get.
  15. You know, re-reading the feedback from that show made me realize something: I'm still a little bitter over being compared to Crash f'n Holly...
  16. You don't have to lie, Drea: you weren't really conscious when you typed that...
  17. Well, if Verizon offers it, I'll probably end up getting it through them... Would something like that work with a laptop, or would it have to be with something portable like a PDA... or, could it be both?
  18. Edited to apply to me. I don't even know the names of rock singers in the handful of songs that I like... Except for Zach de la Rocha, but I wouldn't know who he actually was if I saw him, not even if he were standing next to me wearing a shirt that read, "I'm Zach de la Rocha."
  19. I don't think that the roster's been strong enough to support a Wargames since at least 2003; if we tied ten characters up in one match, there might not be enough actual writers to do another competitive match on the whole show. The closest we've had to having a strong enough roster to do a Wargames was when we did that 8-man at A2A in '03. EDIT - You know, now that I go back and look at it, that was a kick-ass show: Annie vs Janus as the curtain jerker (!!!), Dace vs. Duran, Danny vs. Va'aiga, Thugg (as Bastion) vs. Xstasy were the undercard, and just about any one of those matches could have main evented Ground Zero.
  20. Does he like hot butter on his breakfast toast?
  21. There aren't any hotspots anywhere near where I would most need to use it; that's one of the reasons why I'm asking about the wireless.
  22. Strike Force didn't compete at Series '88; Martel was "injured." Santana was on Warrior/Beefcake's team, I think.
  23. Not the Berzerker, the Barbarian. As in, one-half of the Powers of Pain.
