Fair enough... but since I didn't actually have Aecas use it as a weapon (and, in fact, he didn't actually put his hands on it; he just walked towards it, and Herrington, who wasn't around during Aecas' last run, was afraid that he *might* use it), I figured it would be okay. But, it's not, so lesson learned, right?

I didn't know that a violent fit could be out of character for someone who describes himself as "psychotic," but I'll take your word for it... Thanks for the feedback. I guess next time, I'll just have him talk to the scythe instead... but then, Reggie might get jealous...

Well, there was that one against Michael Cross (who may or may not have showed, so that may not count), and then there was the one against Jimmy the Doom at Battleground (who did show). So, I had at least one legit title defense... plus, I wrote myself to lose in at least two title matches against Hawke, so it's not like that huge reign was *all* him... At any rate, I'm just going to let it alone; I'm still a little sour over losing right now, so I reckon I'll get off the subject before I make a bigger ass of myself than I have already.

Rochelle? If this is a joke, I don't get it... I'd blame it on my being old and slow, but you're older than I am... what the hell; I'll blame it on being old and slow, anyway... I can't say that I was surprised that I didn't win; mildy irritated, but not surprised. Congratulations to Drea and whoever the "Destroyer" is. I'll keep it real, though: if we'd been taking bets on who was going to win what, I'd have lost a nice chunk of change over that match, so extra congrats for proving me wrong.

If this doesn't lead to some kind of invasion angle, I will not be amused.

SWF Lockdown Card (May 31st, 2006)

Define "later," plz. -
Avery has one; does he count?

I just mean that I thought we were having an interesting discussion; I didn't realize that you interpreted that as me trying to "crush your opinion by any means possible," or "wasting" your thread. Mea culpa.

I wasn't aware that that's what I was doing...

I wouldn't say that he promoed "heavily." He probably did a handful of show promos; he definitely didn't do any board promos, which I think would be more in line with the sort of "add depth to your character" promos that Sly seems to be talking about here. I concede the point for a one-shot, though; be rather hard to build up to a one-shot without promoage. Hey Danny (or someone else who's into puro), do they do a lot of promoing in Puro, or do they rely mostly on the matches themselves to tell/sell the story?
-
What do I need build for? I've managed to be involved in a handful of extended feuds without WC's "real life" having much, if anything, to do with them. In fact, I did about a four-month program with Pretzler and another four-month program with Hawke that basically just consisted of the three of us writing matches. They may never win FOTY, but that's never been a goal of mine. Promos have their place and everything, but I just don't think that they're essential for a character or a feud to get over: one of my favorite feuds ever in the history of the fed (Danny/Mak) had basically no promos whatsoever.
-
Maybe, but that has nothing to do with it; I just don't enjoy writing promos. I joined this fed to write matches, not to RP; RP-ing does jack-all for me.

No.

Didn't have one: my debut was a JL dark match.

I thought having all your opponents no-show won you three titles...
-
Don't try to kid me, Crowe; nobody loves you. Well, your supplier, maybe, but nobody else...
-
Apparently, they got so sick of hearing the talking heads saying "the Suns only know how to play one way" that they tried to play a different way. And failed.

Sorry, but I have to: I can't stand the guy... I think that Avery Johnson is a great coach (I wish that we could have got him), and I actually think that the Mavericks are the most-deserving team of the teams remaining, in terms of who's been together longest and who's paid the most dues in the playoffs, but my contempt for Cuban is such that I can't abide by anything that involves him succeeding.
-
How about WPCM? EDIT - Oops! That was supposed to be a "W," not a "Y."
-
I've decided that I don't care which of these teams make it to the Finals. ... as long as it's not the Heat or the Mavericks...

I didn't mean to suggest that I thought that MVS was trying to get over as a face here... I was more trying to point out that WC still has deep animosity towards VS and that, while WC is a career face, the idea of VS being on 'the side of the angels' would be the one thing that might make him turn to the Dark Side.
-
On another note, I didn't really read the last couple of shows in depth, so I'm quite curious as to see where this is headed.
-
You know, if there is anything that could ever possibly make WC turn heel, it's the return of a face Mike Van Siclen... DISCLAIMER: WC is not really going to turn heel.

Hrmm... [sidebar] All my intros/entrances are between 1-1.4K, regardless of whether it's PPV or a regular show. I do it that way, not because I write particularly elaborate ring entrances (which I actually don't most of the time, even on PPV), but because, as a deficient promo writer, I use the "pre-bell" portion of my matches to actually sell the plot, and put over whatever story I'm trying to sell. Take the program I did with Hawke, for example: I think that most people got how we were trying to get the whole feud to come across, despite the fact that neither one of us did any board promos or show promos to put the story over. I seem to recall Frost having some kind of "formula" for match times based on word limits, and I've always tried to more or less go by that... As I recall, he estimated that a 5K match would "realistically" be somewhere around 12-15 minutes; a 6K match ought to be right around twenty, twenty-five tops. I gotta agree with Maddix: I definitely don't think that a "47:39" match can reasonably be pulled off in 6K.
