Mr. S£im Citrus replied to Open the Muggy Gate's topic in The WWE Folder
... Or better yet, they could have portrayed them both as straight, and just had them playing mind games with each other... kind have the two of them playing a game of "Lesbian Chicken" to see which one could out-creep the other. The first one to look like she doesn't want it loses. -

I have to admit, that would definitely get my attention... but, is WWE even capable of pulling something like that off? Mickie James as the sympathetic character? If they had any imagination, they would have had Trish leading Mickie on this whole time, teasing her with hints of shared feelings; if they really wanted to get creative with it, they could have even had Trish sending Mickie out to get pasted in handicap matches against any combination of Vince's Angels, or even all three of them (since it was still the three of them for a while), saying that, if Mickie really loved her, she would fight for her, or some such... Eventually, Trish could have been setting Mickie up for what Trish should have promised as a reciprocation of affection on SNME, only to reject her, breaking her heart and humiliating her in front of the whole world. This could have set up the blowoff between the evil, manipulative Trish and her misunderstod, heartbroken lesbian groupie at WM... ... And it'd still be more interesting than half the WM card... -
Who's the guy who kind of sounds like a Muppet? Is that Johnson?

Demolition got a pretty good pop at WM6. -
Shitdamnmotherfucker! :: sighs :: At least the Lakers lost, too, I guess... But now Wednesday becomes a big game.

Well, at least the Lakers lost... we should stay in 7th for now.

SWF Smarkdown Card 3-20-2006

Curse you and your rematch clause! :: shakes fist at Jay Hawke :: -
Anybody else watching the DEN/IND game? Harrison looks like he's ready to swing on somebody...
-
Hrmm... and have newbs matches appear as "SWF.com exclusives" until they got a few wins under them? It would almost be like bringing back the JL, except not really...

Once Garcia is healthy, Hart becomes the ninth man in an eight-man rotation...

So, let's see if I can project this team's history: two months into their tenure together, Cross is writing the bulk of their matches by himself, while Akira is taking unscheduled and indeterminate leaves of absences... At this rate, two years from now, Cross will be holding the midcard together as the fed's most reliable writer while Akira, who passes in and out of the fed more times than a drive-thru, will be a two-time World Champion... they'll dominate the tag division until people get sick of them, and feud with each other three or four times because nobody in the fed but Cross wants to work with Akira... And then, Akira will retire and become a marker... By the way, the preceding post was done tongue-in-cheek style, because I saw that Johnny was reading the topic... I kid because I love, Johnny...

Male: Denzel Washington Female: Jodie Foster Which is funny, because I don't have any plans on seeing their new movie, at least not anytime in the immediate future...

You wrote 7K in five hours?

How do you fall behind by fourteen homework assignments? No offense, Akira, but how are you budgeting your time? I mean, I don't even let my son come away from the table until his homework is done... Granted, he's only nine, but the principles should be the same: no games, no computer, can't go outside, etc., until homework be done.

Of course, it helps when you don't have a backup point guard. I mean, really: if *you* had to choose between playing Artest at "point forward" and giving minutes to Jason F. Hart...

I'll be goddamned... she was fucking serious. [isiah Thomas] It's crazy enough that it just might work... [/isiah Thomas] Big ups to Muzz; has anyone else ever won the WHC with two different characters?

Who are you to doubt the Nuggets and their 3-1 Atlantic road trip??? They're fastbreakers of the fastest magnitude! Go Kings! Bring on the Pacers!

I'm going to co-sign with my fellow old man... I don't get the big deal about "bland" commentators myself; Gordon Solie was pretty "bland," and he was merely the greatest of all time. Jim Ross, at his best in the late-80s and early-90s, was pretty "bland." I happen to be of the opinion that when you're so concerned about getting over the personality of the commentators that it impedes your match writing, then the commentators having a personality becomes a problem. That's why, at the risk of not being "true" to the characters, I try to just write the guys in a way that helps put my match over, and don't worry too much about whether or not they would actually talk like that. As far as rotating teams, I'm not sure about that, but if we do decide to do that, one thing I always liked about how the WWE used to have seperate announce team was that they used their best announcers on PPV (eg, Ventura/McMahon on Show A, Monsoon/Heenan on Show B, and Ventura/Monsoon on PPV), so I'd kind of like to see that.

Didn't crusen write Axis? If so, I'd say that the answer would be, define "active."
-
Perhaps; I was just saying that, when all you have to go by is "bland face," you have the freedom to write him however you want to. When I was in the JL, I wrote Axis on commentary as a cross between Joey Styles and Vince McMahon, and I can't recall that anybody thought of that portrayal as being so terrible.

Hell yes! That Francis/Williams match was part of the feud I was talking about in the previous History thread.
