Ironic that the last time Pittsburgh had a seemingly great team with a tough defense, the special teams did them in... And if it's against New England AGAIN in the AFC Championship game, that'll be something. Pittsburgh, from what I've seen hasn't done too well on special teams, though of course you'd know better than I would. What's your thoughts? Pittsburgh's special teams coverage this year has actually been quite good. It's a big improvement over last year since they have several guys who have become sort of Special Teams Specialists. The problem the past couple weeks has been that those guys, most notably James Harrison, have had to come off of the special teams to step in as starters. The obvious solution would be to leave them on special teams as well since that's where they're at their best, but they dont seem to want to do that. They should be fine as more guys come back from injuries.

The playoffs came at the worst possible time for my team (Foreign Objects). Priest has been out for the past several weeks and is out the rest of the year. My temporary fill ins of Larry Croom, Lamont Jordan, and Arlen Harris are all not going to start this week because they were only in for injured starters. This week I'm most likely going to end up starting BJ Sams and hope for some big kick/punt return yards since he's averaging about 100 a game. Brandon Stokely and David Givens both came in as Questionable at the same time, and I'm not quite sure who to pick up to play that hole. The top 3 scorers there are 2 receivers listed as Questionable and another kick return specialist. Starting 2 kick returners doesn't seem like such a good idea to me. Hopefully someone else gets injured during practice so I can grab their backup.

EA signs a 5 year exclusive deal with NFL
jimmy no nose replied to MarvinisaLunatic's topic in Video Games
He was definitely in this year's ESPN. He even had a bobble head that made mention of their not being able to put his name in in the past. I'm not sure if he was in Madden. -
My local video store doesn't charge late fees. I thought there had to be some way they get you, but once I had a video 3 days late and I just brought it down and they didnt even say anything. I know people who've gone like 3 weeks late and nothing happens. They just call you more and more often the later it is. Pretty cool, but I don't understand why they do it.

EA signs a 5 year exclusive deal with NFL
jimmy no nose replied to MarvinisaLunatic's topic in Video Games
That's retarded. EA have been saying ever since ESPN dropped its price that they don't even view them as competition so I don't see why they'd feel the need to do this. I quit football games. -
Yeah the Foreign Objects CD is very good. Since you like Turbonegro I'd say try and check out Never Is Forever. No one ever wants to give it a chance, but I like it even more than Ass Cobra. It's no Apocalypse Dudes, though. If you really like The Wildhearts maybe check out the Backyard Babies and the Hellacopters.

I think they're actually playing half arenas from what I've heard. It'll have the stage in the middle with the half behind it blocked off. I'm not 100% sure on that though. Please, please tell me I'm not the only one who just saw them finally officially announce it....ON LARRY KING LIVE. It was quite possibly the weirdest thing ever. They did have a brand new live performance of Dr. Feelgood on it which was very cool. The guys all seemed to at least act like they like each other, and they were pretty funny as well. Mick didn't have much to say, but that's been the case for most of 25 years.

Velvet Revolver-Contraband. I'm not a big fan of Weiland's vocals, but I can tolerate them usually. They sounded pretty terrible on several of the songs on this album. I figured even if Weiland had a subpar performance on here the music could make up for it. I was wrong there. The song writing was mediocre at the best parts of the album and pretty awful at time. Even Slash's solos were disappointing.

That's actually about right if you look at any of the Crue shows since around 1997. I've actually heard good things about him recently though. He sounds good on that song even though the song isn't that good. I know that doesn't mean he'd sound good live after singing for a few songs, or after a few days of the tour, but he's shown some promise from what I hear.

Yeah it's the one written by Simple Plan. I didn't hear about that until a while after I posted this. According to Tracii Guns Nikki didnt even write any of it at all, it's all by Simple Plan and Nikki just says he co-wrote it. He also implied without actually saying that Mick Mars didn't even play on the song and DJ Ashba did instead. Tracii and Nikki got together and wrote what were supposed to be some real Motley songs, but Nikki started to lean towards the Simple Plan song instead, then Tommy Lee decided to ditch all the Tracii material and stick with this.

I was looking around and I found a new photo gallery and I think Mick Mars may actually be dead. Look at this: And Here's the tour dates: http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermo...ewsitemID=29955 Hopefully it's not a complete list because they missed hairband hotbed(I really wanted to say that) Pittsburgh, PA.

The Steelers-Jags game will probably be an easy Steeler win unless the Jags decide to go with Fred Taylor more instead of trying to pass the ball so much. Taylor has been a Steeler killer his entire career since they used to be in the same division. I think he went over 100 against the Steelers once when they had a pretty good D. I know it's a different team now, but I still think Taylor has been really underused for a back who is averaging nearly 5 a carry this year.

So Bonds admits to using steriods "Unknowingly"

Sheffield said pretty much the same thing a while back in some articles. No one really noticed it though for some reason. -
I just found this link to the newest Motley Crue song. All four band members are back for the first time since Generation Swine. If anyone's a fan you might want to check it out. It's an alright song, sounds a little too modern maybe. The big problem is there's no guitar solo in it. It has a good heavy sound in the intro and the chorus, and weakens up a bit at other parts. It does have Tommy Lee back on drums and the general Tommy Lee feeling to it. It's called "If I Die Tommorrow" There's supposed to be 4 new songs that they recorded, hopefully they went heavier on the others. http://d4.yousendit.com/E/9EC9D9B0530887FF...D/MotleyDie.MP3 Also there's supposed to be a tour coming up soon with an announcement coming on Monday supposedly. I definitely think it will be worth checking out since it's supposed to be the last time.

What does your team need to do in the offseason?
jimmy no nose replied to therealworldschampion's topic in Sports
Agreed on the secondary, but the unit they have right now looks like it may grow into something. They probably need to find a long term solution to play opposite Townsend since Scott and Williams are both just about done. At DE I think they still have a couple of years in production out of both guys, and while it would be nice to play for the future, they'll probably want to make sure they address other problems first. At RB I think they'll be fine even if Jerome does go. I know Duce has had injury problems, but I think he will eventually be able to carry the load for most of the time, and Veron Haynes is growing into a very capable back up. I really don't think tight end is a big deal at all right now. Riemersma is a pretty good pass catcher, but even after they signed him they didn't even try to throw him the ball. It's just not something they do. The problem I see is actually in the offensive line. I know they're playing very well right now, but other than Faneca and maybe Marvel Smith it might be a little shaky. Hartings is a very good center, but he's been having knee issues for a couple years already. Kendall Simmons should be a very good player, but he wasn't at full strength last year with his diabetes and had to miss all of this year with an injury. I don't think they have an answer at right tackle. Also, the big problem of the off season is Plaxico Burress and Kendrell Bell being free agents. I'm sure they'll end up franchising one of them, most likely Burress since Bell is always injured. I think they need to bring someone in as a replacement if they let Bell go. Larry Foote has played alright, but he isn't the impact player they want on the inside. If they let Plaxico go they of course need a real impact reciever, since Plaxico basically makes Hines Ward by drawing away a lot of the coverage. -
http://pantheon.yale.edu/~pmf8/harvardsucks.html That's awesome. That has to be a lot of work to figure out which seats need each color.

Keepers for Foreign Objects: QB-A. Brooks WR-C. Johnson WR-B. Stokley RB-W. McGahee RB-P. Holmes TE-T. Gonzalez

Maybe my being a fan of CKY is having some influence over me, but the New CD "Universal Culture Shock" by Foreign Objects is sounding like one of the best CDs of the past several years. It has some very cool riffs, decent drumming, cool death metal vocals, solos from James Murphy, and a death metal cover of a Sparks song. What more could you ask for?

Why can't I get college basketball on GC?
jimmy no nose replied to The Czech Republic's topic in Video Games
There is a reason third party games don't sell on Gamecube. A very large majority of GC owners own another console and don't rank GC highly for their third party games they can get elsewhere. PS2 has the advantage of having an enormous base of people who own only PS2 and will also sometimes have exclusive features or the largest online play. Xbox owners who also own other consoles are drawn towards Xbox on third party games because most often they have the best graphics and many do custom soundtrack or Xbox Live. The Cube doesn't have much of an advantage anywhere for multiple console owners, and the number of people who own only the Gamecube is not large enough to make it really cost effective for many third party companies to produce for it. I own all three consoles and the only ones I'll buy on the Gamecube are the exclusive titles, and it appears that most other people do as well. I'm surprised that EA decided to go away from the Cube with college basketball this year, though. They seem to not really care much about it and have continued to support the GC anyway. -
Apparently the Pirates are planning on offering up Rhodes as some part of a deal with the Dodgers for Milton Bradley. I don't have a lot of details, but I've seen that reported a couple places loacally.

I've heard about this a while back on some Guns N Roses websites. I don't know what to think about all this orchestration that has been done. Full orchestra on somewhere from 4-8 songs sounds like a bit much to me.

6 player dynasty is what I'd prefer over two players, but it's not really that big a deal. There are exactly 6 players on my team that I'd like to keep until next year, and four of them could probably be replaced.

I'm most surprised by the fact that Artest, before getting hit with the drink, looked like he was managing to keep his cool. I can't believe he didn't go after Ben Wallace. I know Wallace is bigger than him, but in a crowded scene like that he probably could've gotten a shot in without Wallace being able to hit him back because of all the people getting in the middle. If that drink doesn't hit him the analysts would all be commending Artest on growing up and not reacting. The way it played out was much more entertaining though.

I don't think it's a good idea at all. The Giants have a terrible O-Line, and the Falcons who will be his first opponent are 3rd in the league in sacks. I don't know how he'll respond to being sacked frequently early in his first game. The positive about playing the Falcons is that they have one of the worst pass defenses in the league in terms of yardage allowed.

I thought Golota probably had it by a point or two because the round where he knocked down Ruiz was an almost definite 10-7 round, plus Ruiz had a point deducted. I was thinking split decision for Golota. There were several rounds that I thought were too close to call, I guess the judges all had to give all of them to Ruiz which seems strange to me. Maybe they were seeing something that I wasn't. As for the trainer getting ejected, he was just having your usual swearing freak out session at ringside, the problem was that he wouldn't stop. The ref told him he was going to be ejected and he continued on so he sent him out.
