  1. wanted...not by an NFL team! ha ha !
  2. ...it's beautiful in its simplicity. Mega Man X was neat, but each subsequent sequel lost me. I think Mega Man games are a phase you kinda grow out of. I mean, I'll still go back and play II or III once in a while, but I stopped clamoring for new installments in about '95. btw a better order for going through MMX: Chill/Storm/Flame/Spark/Armored/Launch/Boomer/Sting. Most books said Chill/Spark/Armored/Launch/Boomer/Sting/Storm/Flame, but Storm Eagle is easily beatable with the Mega-Buster, and the tornado is like the best weapon you can get, so get it early. (EDIT: I just remembered, if you beat Storm Eagle before Spark Mandrill, the power plant is all busted and the floor can't electrocute you.) An uncharged rolling shield is pretty useless, but you always get one of those in a game. Homing missiles are good too, so sometimes I cheated with 222222222221 to start with rolling shield, homing missile, boots, and X-Buster.
  3. I'm getting the flu.
  4. This thread delivered.
  5. A group of Chinese immigrants who load trucks with boxes full of paper clips, pens, and printers plan a secret birthday celebration for a co-worker. It's called "Supplies Party."
  6. You'll have to excuse Mik, he had bad hush puppies and fishsticks last night. Or he's a douche. Either/or
  7. There's no such thing as an "American school system". Its a collection of 50 state school system, which get various levels of results. Maybe he meant the general approach to education that is taken in the United States. That one is a complete failure, wouldn't you say? No. "Complete failure" is entirely too strong a term when the real problem isn't that widespread. There are some really bad urban and poor rural school districts that are dragging the standardized test score averages down and making the rest of the country look bad. Plus, we test almost every single kid (opposed to most western countries which only worry about their college-bound kids). And kids with IQs as low as 60 are taking the same tests as everyone else because the percentage of kids exempt from taking regular standardized tests is set way too low. I see what you're saying with standardized tests, but what about from a pedagogical standpoint? Too many teachers aren't concerned with imparting any knowledge, they just teach the tests so you know how to get the A, then forget what you learned so you can get to the next chapter, so you can get the A in the class you need to inflate your GPA to impress the colleges so you can get in there and get a degree you won't use. I'm sure there are some bright ones out there who can actually make their students smarter, hopefully Jerk is among them, but if that's a road that has a B- or two in it, he's gonna hear about it from the parents of shallow overachievers, and that'll be that. We're sending all the wrong people off to college. Our population isn't overeducated so much as just overaccredited. Look at all the vapid girls and meatheaded guys that higher education is waving through. It's nuts. I probably won't finish college; it bores me and I don't feel I'm getting any intellectual or personal growth from it after the year and a half thus far. Oh well. I'll have to make it some other way. Or not?
  8. Remember the time Robert Fripp had somebody shoot Peter Gabriel? Man. Close call.
  9. Freak Out! preceded and influenced Sgt. Pepper's, McCartney said so. They're similar in that we can't fully grasp how different they were for their time. Make a playlist of mainstream songs from 1966, and throw "Who Are The Brain Police?" in there.
  10. Mega Man games that are good: II III V X You can judge a Mega Man game by its boss names. Yamato Man? Flower Man? DUFF MCWHALEN?!? Jay-zus.
  11. excape. AAAAHH http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/errors.html I'm like a pig in shit, reading this site.
  12. Matt. No. No, Matt.
  13. So should we send Matt Murton some postcards that say "greetings from left field" now?
  14. Mommy, what's a gagortion?

  17. Must be hard for HTQ not to be a douchebag, too. Deep_thought is gonna get his ass kicked...in blog form
  18. I love geography, but this is ridiculous.
  19. I don't really think those shirts look good on anybody. Those are the shirts that are always on sale at Kohl's for $15 that grubby losers seem to wear a lot. You can look less tacky for less money, I'd wager.
  20. Jesus tapdancing Christ, Laz, you're still at it Manic depression is one of those things where the treatment is almost as bad for some people. There are people who have been or are being treated for manic depression who say that the lithium or other means of treatment dulls the mind and turns them into zombies, almost. No highs, no lows. That's pretty damn miserable too, if you ask me. I'm just extremely wary of psychoactive drugs, and my only personal experience was 5 mg of Ritalin in the Great Ritalin Craze Of '95. Hypothetically, if I was even worse off than I already am, neurologically speaking, I'd take that over being medicated into a mashed potato-headed drone like I've seen some people become whilst "treated." Look, I know you're trying to do the whole tough-guy men-are-men blue-collar emoting-is-4-pussies thing as a reaction to emo music. "Grr, I'm a Masshole, rawk on kill the emos." Cool. But it's extremely ignorant and presumptuous to make a sweeping generalization like "anyone who suffers from depression and can't take it is better off dead." It's an imperfect world of imperfect people with imperfect brains; not everyone is going to attain a clean bill of mental health, so to speak. Drop your schtick and have some empathy, if that's not too pussy for you. I know there are a lot of emo kids who are playing just as much of a contrived character as you are, but you're going beyond them in your remarks, and I'm not certain that's fair. Many of the brightest minds in the world are afflicted with some sort of mental disorder; it practically comes with the territory. We need them around. Subtract them and we'd live in a nation of accountants. In closing, back off of disregarding the mentally ill, and tone down the posturing. I'll PM you every day telling you that you have balls the size of Rhode Island if you need that validation. So as the myspace emo kids say, kthxbye
  21. This guy sure went to the Choken One school of capitalization.

  23. Honestly, the site is TheSmartMarks.com. I doubt if a terrible number of people will be coming to the site and reading the main page looking for sports reviews and new DVD's available. It's all about the wrestling in my eyes. It's a wrestling site. Change the name, then. The supposed centerpiece of this forum is the worst part of it. It hasn't been "all about the wrestling" for years here. It's a place for people who used to like the WWF to come and bullshit about life and other stuff they like now. As for TheSmartMarks, just do what we all do here, and what MTV, ESPN, CNBC, TNN, OLN, et al all do, where the abbreviation becomes the primary ID because the full name no longer applies as well and was not as frequently used.
  24. I couldn't sleep tonight knowing that the 7-word bandit isn't me
  25. Why would they wear black in Texas, that's really dumb
