I think they decided to keep it short because they assumed (correctly) that with Joe Madureira doing the art for the book that it would be super delayed as is.

I really enjoyed Clouds Taste Metallic during high school. These days I would say that "Christmas at the Zoo" is my all time favorite Lips song.

WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot
Steviekick replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
Knowing the way that WCW did things, it wouldn't shock me if Madusa was paid while sitting around at home. I don't know why Hercules was given the gimmick, but all of the guys managed by Harley Race (Vader, the Kongs, Yoshi Kwan) all had some sort of weird Asian gimmick. -
I'd go with that, too. The Macmanus brothers do seem to be better fighters, but Jules and Vincent would get by through some fluke accident.

TSM Talks (to the voices in their head): The Legacy
Steviekick replied to Promoter's topic in The WWE Folder
It seems like its just plodding along for the most part. I'm not liking how everyone seems to be another inept lackey of Orton's for the most part, and quite frankly, everyone involved is interchangeable. -
http://www.bucketheadland.com/home_for_hemorrage.html Apparently Buckethead is a Lebron fan.

This is one of the best books out there today. It's purchase worthy.

I would assume sometime soon; weren't those shows taped during the summer?
-
Same here. It's been a very slow boil, and I can't wait to see how it ends. I hope they bring back Andy's anger problem as a result.

As one of the few Thrashers fans, I'm hoping that they will fire the GM. The team has completely crapped out since the end of the 07 season, and Waddell has put together a horrific roster.

I think one of the biggest part of the confusion of how you are supposed to take the character. The Spirit strips were pretty funny; I think too many people were assuming that this would be serious/brooding due to Miller's involvement.

So Secret Invasion #1 came out today, and this is what's happened so far: • A Skrull spacecraft crashed in the Savage Land. Both the New and Mighty Avengers went to investigate, ironically leading them to Sauron's base from the first New Avengers story arc. The ship contains what looks like the seventies/eighties versions of White Queen, Spider-Man, Power Man, Beast, Thor, Wonder Man, Invisible Girl, Jean Grey, Hawkeye, Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Mockingbird, Jewel, Captain America, Ms. Marvel and Wolverine. • Sue Richards has been replaced by a Skrull, who uses a portal device to send the Baxter Building into the Negative Zone. Inside the building are Johnny Storm and Sue's kids, Franklin and Valerie. • Jarvis the trusty Avengers butler has also been replaced by a Skrull, who hacks the Avengers computer system, effectively taking out the Avengers, Stark Enterprises and SHIELD bases. The Skrull also uses it to take control of the Iron Man armor, and shocking Tony Stark into a seizure A Skrull posing as Dum Dum Dugan takes out SHIELD's space station SWORD, and now a bunchy of Skrull warships are haded towards earth. • The issue ends with Yellowjacket zapping Mr. Fantastic with some sort of Skrull weapon and revealing that he is a Skrull. The last couple pages are some epilogues from Joe Quesada and Brian Bendis that say that the Skrull invasion has clues that go back to Secret War. Basically, they recommend a rereading of a bunch of Bendis books since he started at Marvel. Storywise, I enjoyed this first issue. Over on Newsarama, Bendis said that the one thing that he wishes he learned from writing House of M was that the first issue of an epic really needs to start out strong, and I really think he did. There were reveals and plot twists every few pages. I'm sold on this for the next seven months. Art wise, Leinil Yu is solid. Inker Mark Morales does a great job of making Yu's art work on this story. The art really helps take Yu out of his "guy who draws crazy ninja and rooftop fights" shell. So, what did you think?

Dixie finally reveals target demographic
Steviekick replied to geniusMoment's topic in TNA Wrestling
I don't even want to know how much they would charge for even a domestic beer. Soda is like 5 bucks right? So Beers gotta be a kidney or something. I think the most I paid for soda that vacation was like $3, so I'm guessing a beer would be somewhere in the $5-7 range. -

Jingus was talking about when they used to run their shows at the Fair Grounds in TN. I went to an Impact taping at Universal, and I'm pretty sure they had alcohol available. -
Have you tried e-bay? I picked up a replacement plug for my external hard drive.
-
I'm guessing the video has to do with all the whacky Pro Tools stuff on the album?
-
Seconded. I've also used Handbrake to convert DVD's for my iPod as well.

Your use of Klaus Nomi in this thread is awesome.

That's one of the things that boggles my mind about the Spirit movie; Frank Miller is a total Eisner fanboy.
-
I have a feeling that The Spirit is going to become a cult film.
-
That's what I thought about it. With all the intentionally sarcastic/ironic jokes, weird color scheme and bizarre SLJ scenes, it felt like the movie was an inside joke.
-
So I just got back from seeing The Spirit this afternoon, a lengthy post to follow. Anyone else get around to seeing it?

I can definitely go with Houston being the best of those teams, and I would say that Dallas is the worst. The Mavs really look like they have know chemistry this year. The other four teams are all playing on the same level. I'd say that Denver would be slightly better than the rest, but the other teams could get better depending on if Oden starts to get an offensive game (and doesn't get into foul trouble as much), Boozer comes back and wants to play defense, and the Suns get their act together.

That Super Deluxe edition looks pretty sweet, but I don't have a record player, so the LP's are kinda useless to me. I'll end up getting the regular Deluxe edition. That is pretty cool, but it seems kind of excessive.
