Six-Way Scramble: Sly Sommers vs. Jacob Lyne vs. Mad Matt vs. Crystal vs. St. Andrew vs. Leon Rodez (If Leon beats anyone in this match, he takes their place in the Super X Cup) Match 3 In the Seven Sins Series (Elimination Rules): The Minions (2-0) vs. The GPX (0-2) Plus: St. Andrew responds to Rick Heyross's Anglemania Challenge!

Mark Starr and "Jumpin'" Joey Maggs are the best tag team of all-time, bar none.
-
Wow...freakin' classic. I haven't laughed that hard at a wrestling skit since Sal Rinauro brought Skeletor and He-Man together to sign his petition to bring back the PFL.
-
Another thing, Barber...the reason why so many Wildside guys get TNA Xplosion spots is because Bill Behrens is the guy who books all of the indy jobbers for the show, and he of course runs Wildside.
-
I can't believe anyone would pimp this match. I bet two backyarders could put the exact same match on. No transitions between the spots, no effort at all to tell a story, and outside of the Super Joker Driver, nothing really innovative. I will say this though; Chris Cash, based on other recent work, does seem to be improving beyond the inNOVAtive stuff he was popping out each match for no rhyme or reason.

OAOAST Zero Hour Booking Thread
Phoenix Fury Legdrop replied to Zack Malibu's topic in Brandon Truitt
I don't know if you guys actually read what I posted above, but there honestly won't be room for more than 3-4 matches besides the X Cup because a) a 13-match three-hour show is pretty unrealistic and b)the show subtitle is "Night of the X"...if everyone else is doing all their crap and the X Cup is like 1/54th of the show, then that wouldn't make too much sense. I'm not trying to be mean; I'm trying to be senseful. -
Oh, OK. My bad. Thanks Dace. Anyone know what these Wildside moves are... Caprice Coleman's Comatoser Jay Fury's Enzufury Jeremy V's Derek Driver Murder One's Doja Bomb The Enzifury is a Matrix clothesline reversal, ala Elix Skipper, but from that position, he pops up with a no-touch enziguri. Really amazing to watch. The Comatoser is a crucifix powerbomb into a sick-looking piledriver. Deadly, deadly looking move. Jeremy V. doesn't use a Derek Driver...Derek Driver is the name of a guy that used to work Wildside, sometimes as V.'s tag partner. Trying to think what the Doja Bomb is...either the Angry Man Slam or another name for his new finish, The Skull Cracka (Piggyback Stunner twisted around into a head slam thingy).

Unimportant now. -
The entire Hero/Punk show went about 3 hours. 5/24/03 - Spirit of '76 I haven't seen this in a while, but I remember it being damn good. Shelley/Jacobs Ironman match, Chris Hero/Ace Steel, and Punk/Hamrick, I can remember off the top of my head being really great, and I know there's more good stuff than that. 6/27/03 - Revolution (Strong style tournament) Haven't seen it yet. 10/02/03 - Huss Man Cometh Includes Cash Flo beating the holy hell out of Mickie Knuckles, a pretty good BJ Whitmer/Alex Shelley match, an AWESOME Nate Webb/Ian Rotten match (seemless flow from hilarious comedy antics between the "Cricket" and Ian (watch the tape, you'll get the Cricket line), one of my favorite indy ladder matches ever between Sonjay Dutt and JC Bailey, and one of the most underrated IWA Mid-South matches of all-time in Danny Daniels vs. Jimmy Jacobs 2/3 falls. 11/21/03 - Breaking Balls Another really good show, with a really good sprint with Matt Sydal & Delirious, an awesome T2P vs. British matwork match with Arik Cannon/Nigel McGuinness, awesome match between Chris Hero and Colt Cabana (including a hilarious dance contest between 'Bana and a six-year-old), a pretty good IWA debut for Petey Williams against BJ Whitmer, Shelley/Jacobs (which is always a guaranteed good match), and a really fun bumpfest with Webb/Sonjay/Bailey; also includes one of my favorite injury angles in a while with Boz, Bradley, & Daniels breaking Balls Mahoney's neck. I'd also suggest either of the past two TPI's, Stylin' & Profilin', or Winter Wars 2003 for a newbie, since they all include guys you already know and/or have seen elsewhere, and draw you in easier to the IWA stalwarts.

Not to disrupt the vibe, but here is the greatest website ever, and it's somewhat related to Late Night w/ Conan O'Brien... I Bring You The Andy Richter Dance.

Just added: Chris Bryte vs. Sly Sommers

I think the hosts are the Sklar twins that used to work as interviewers on "Battlebots". Anyone know if there's any replays this weekend?

Downloaded a movie in .avi format tonight. Thing is, Windows Media Player & Winamp only play the sound, and DivX and Winamp don't play it at all. No real warning windows come up other than "The file is not supported on this player". Any ideas?

2nd Match in Seven Sins Series (Pinfalls Only): Minions (1-0) vs. GPX (0-1) The aftermath of the Gibraltar/Brock split. Sly finally admits what he's been wanting to say to Janet for months. And....stuff.

Actually made it on time this time.... Jaimy Coxxx over Eddie Venom (feet on the ropes) "The Tremendous" Emil Sitoci over CK3 BJ Whitmer over "Anarchist" Arik Cannon (Cannon was fighting for Chris Hero's honor since Hero got him a gig in IWA-MS; slightly teased a Whitmer/Fannin split; really good match) Petey Williams over Casanova (comedy spot where Petey locked in a waistlock and accidentally pulled a tube sock out of Casanova's tights) Daizee Haze over Ms. Chif (Wouldn't mind seeing Chif back regularly with IWA Mid-South) Matt Sydal over Delirious to retain the IWA-MS LW Title (Dragonrana finish; really freakin' good match; Delirious got a "Stem-Cell Research" chant going somehow; Bradley & Boz jumped them both post-match until the locker room cleared to take B'n'B out) JC Bailey over Nate Webb in an I Quit Match (Bradley, Boz, & Whitmer all interfered at the end; great false finish with JC telling Nate to say "I Quit" by actually saying it himself, but Nate hated JC too much for the match to end that way; JC got busted open hardway on an early Da Thang) TREMENDOUS fucking match, get the tape for this) Corp. Robinson & Steve Stone over Boz & Bradley in a Falls Count Anywhere match (pretty wild stuff; Corp. got busted open hardway; funny moment where Fannin got directly in the face of a fan who was heckling him all night for being fat, and told him to "bring it, motherfucker"; Sydal & Delirious interfered at the end) NOTES: Attendance looked to be about 60, sadly....Signed for Highland on April whenever: Matt Sydal vs. AJ Styles....Signed for Lafayette on Feb. 28: BJ Whitmer (w/ Jim Fannin) vs. Arik Cannon with Jim Fannin handcuffed to the winner of a fan raffle; "a big wrestling superstar" to appear; NWA Wildside talent not yet named; Matt Sydal & Delirious vs. Bradley & Boz in a TLC match, and "Spyder" Nate Webb vs. JC Bailey inside a steel cage, which, if tonight was any indication, should be fucking amazing.

IWA-MS Results from Lafayette
Phoenix Fury Legdrop replied to Phoenix Fury Legdrop's topic in General Wrestling
Matt & Delirious got at least 20 minutes. I messed up their finish; the Dragonrana was a near-fall. The finish was a tremendous belly-to-belly Spanish Fly variation. Matt seems to be a tremendously nice guy, from the time I got to talk to him at the merchandise table. Ian blamed part of the attendance on him being in the hospital and therefore not being able to make fliers for the show. -
As a small preview to the upcoming (as in, we hope to be soon, but we have no clue) opening of the official Paradise City Ninjas' website, I'd like to turn your attention to the review I did for the Ted Petty Invitational 2003 Q&A tape, where almost all 24 competitors in the tournament took place in an open forum roundtable discussion with fans who came to see the tournament, discussing such topics as promoting in the Midwest, Teddy Hart, John Zandig, TNA, CM Punk, and a whole hell of a lot more. The link is right here. Note that the site's not even 50% done, when noting how plain this looks.

TPI Q&A Shoot Tape Review...
Phoenix Fury Legdrop replied to Phoenix Fury Legdrop's topic in General Wrestling
I don't think Dixon tapes his shows, which is a shame. But, from the way Hero's LJ made it sound, they were doing a complete WWF 1985-style match, complete with foreign heel (Danielson) vs. hometown face (Hero, even though he's from America...but he picked up a Cockney accent). -
1st Match in Seven Sins Series: GPX vs. Minions World Tag Team Title: TNT vs. Gibraltar & Brock Auustin The Return of Sly Sommers. Plus another announced match (at least I thought it was another; didn't see the announcement of the first one that I typed up in this show) for the Super X Cup, coming at Zero Hour.

Right Click, Save As. Has anyone else seen this? Bizarre, messed up...yet freakin' hilarious. Heard MTV picked up the rights to it, sadly.

Degrassi The Next Generation
Phoenix Fury Legdrop replied to Black Lushus's topic in Television & Film
I'm almost 100 percent sure the hospital patient is Mr. Simpson, though it seems a little sudden to kill him off a couple of months after he gets terminally ill, at least in TV time. The thing I hate about Degrassi is that they have good episodes, but then they have horribly ridiculous ones that scream out "Bad After-School Special" (coughElliegoessuicidalcough). Plus, they seem to be really jumpy with storylines. For instance, Terri gets with the shy dude with the roses one episode, gets beaten up/dumps him three weeks later after it totally being ignored, and the next part of their little saga isn't coming until, at the earliest, the new episodes start up (and another thing: Noggin might have the dumbest "seasons" ever. Degrassi's on for like a month of new episodes, and then their season's over, yet Radio Free Roscoe's seemingly pumped out new episodes weekly since its debut). Oh, and anyone who hates Radio Free Roscoe is a bad, bad person. Some of the stuff's good in a really cheesy way (the bike thief episode, the geek boy band, and how exactly do they keep RFR secret if they talk about it out loud in front of everyone at school, especially the one time where Smog got upset because Ray said all the fake Smog dude did was push buttons like a monkey?), but the Ray/Lily storyline, for some reason, brings up the slow build of the Cory/Topanga relationship from Boy Meets World in my head. -

OAOAST Anglepalooza 2004 -- The Comments
Phoenix Fury Legdrop replied to Chuck Woolery's topic in Brandon Truitt
To add to that, there was a WCW jobber entrance song that I'm pretty sure was a ripoff of the first thirty seconds of "Orange Crush", and I always thought that song sounded cool. And it fits the character a heck of a lot better than the Michelle Branch song I held over from the 100% comedy months. -
OAOAST Anglepalooza 2004 -- The Comments
Phoenix Fury Legdrop replied to Chuck Woolery's topic in Brandon Truitt
Besides Supes ruining the basis of one of Gibraltar's upcoming feuds, it was one hell of a show. The Rumble rocked, the cage match was great, and Zack/Supes was good.
