*** - nice little ghost story with some good WW2 warfare thrown in. It could have used a bit more character development though. **** - Good stuff as usual from Spielberg/Hanks. -

**** Superb acting by Liotta and Patric, and a story that keeps you guessing until the very end. -

****1/2 Really good character development and an interesting murder plot. Great cinematography, too. And the music! **** After the mixed reviews I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. Don't know if it's because of the new footage and edits in the Director's Cut, but I really don't get why this film flopped. Cool scenario, one-liners, badass characters and good fight scenes. What's not to like? As good as Pitch Black, maybe even better. ***1/2 Good link between Pitch Black and Chronicles, but way too short. Nice animation techniques. **** I'll have to watch it again, maybe I'll rate it higher then because it was a bit confusing in first viewing. Best mixture of CG and 2D animation I have ever seen, though. -

***** Just amazing. I'll watch the remake soon, but it can't even come close. -

One Missed Call Nice little horror movie by Miike Takashi, one of my favourite directors. The plot gets kind of confusing in the last minutes, though that's not exactly new in this genre. Some nice scares and creepy situations, but ultimately a bit too conventional, especially for Miike. ***1/2 -
'I am not a joke!' promo with Jericho and The Rock.

Over the last few days: I, Robot - **** The only thing that really troubled me was that Will Smith played too much of a goofball. He should have gone less 'MiB' and more 'Enemy of the State' in this one. Other than that, cool movie with an interesting if predictable story and some kickass CG effect work. Fighter In The Wind - **** Korean action drama based on a manga that was itself based on the real life of a famous Korean martial artist named Choi Bae-dal. A bit melodramatic at times, but an absolutely beautiful movie. Hard-hitting fights, glorious camera work and an excellent cast. Dodgeball - *** not as funny as I expected, but still good enough. The Bourne Supremacy - **** great sequel, even though the plot was strangely thin for a film like this. Matt Damon is perfectly cast as Bourne. Some Like It Hot - ***** Yeah! Fahrenheit 9/11 - **** Talk Radio - ****1/2 Never seen it until now, even though I'm a huge Oliver Stone mark. It blew my mind. Great film, almost all dialogue in the same room but still keeps you on the edge of your seat. -
^^what he said. Besides the language and the fact that they are both ghost stories they're not very similar.

It IS an abortion. Lame, boring action scenes, almost no character development, no creative killings, a confusing plot, some hilariously bad acting, and it's about 45 minutes too long. One of the most disappointing sequels I've seen.

My Sassy Girl - Yes, another Korean film.

I've seen the first one and it's great. The acting is flawless (esp. Tony Leung) and it has some surprising yet believable plot twists. The action scenes are far in between, but that doesn't matter. Highly recommended movie. -

'Wanna Die?' Yeah, great movie. They're doing a Hollywood remake btw, and I think Jennifer Lopez is the lead. I know... Hey Downhome, have you seen J.S.A. Joint Security Area? It's a fantastic Drama/War/Thriller with some great performances and a really interesting plot. -

Jet Li has had some awesome movies, you probably just never got to see them. Don't judge him based on his American stuff. -

Hero doing so good is great news, even though I've already seen the movie about a year ago. Hopefully more Asian movies will start to break into the worldwide market in the future, the general public is missing out on so many great films... -
The German handball squad is just demolishing Egypt. 20-7 right now and the game's almost over. Great stuff.

China is first right now with 4 gold.

Wow, you'd think the USA had one of the best TV coverage with the US having the biggest team in Athens. But this sounds dreadful. Here in Germany we get almost 24h live coverage with next to no commercials during the day and NO commercials after 8pm. And on digital TV we get 4(!) extra channels showing pretty much every discipline there is commercial-free and live. Oh, and there's Eurosport as well. They show the same stuff but with different announcers, so you even have an extra choice there.

Hidalgo - **** really fun 'old school' adventure movie with beautiful landscapes and Viggo Mortensen who is just made for roles like this. Omar Sharif was great as well. -
If you liked this one you should watch the original TV version from 2000. It has the same story but different scenes and some other actors. It's even scarier IMO. PS: What were your favourite scenes? For me, when the girl hides in her bed and the ghost is under her blanket. Oh, and when the ex-cop watches the surveillance video.

'Ain't life a bitch?' *blows his brains out* One of the best movie openings ever. One of my favourite action movies of all time. The dialogue and sight gags are just awesome. When Wayans drew the picture of a bomb during the car chase I nearly lost it. 'Give me your car or I'll kill the girl' - 'Daddy!' 'Shhhhh....' The whole movie gets a nine on my ten finger scale

Honey - *** Not as bad as I thought it would be, but ultimately just another dance flick. -
Manchurian Candidate SE is a must have.
