  2. Really? I was 'eh.' It's still my favorite show on TV though. Now everyone can tell me how wrong I am.
  3. I'm too lazy to do manual line changes. Besides whenever I tried I'd always screw up and the computer would have 5-0 breakaways.
  4. It's understandable they were pissed off right after the game. And believe me, even though I'm from Shittsburgh I don't consider myself a Steeler fan just because they're the hometown team. It seemed to me the Steelers bullied the Bengals and eventually pulled away -- losing Palmer didn't hurt either. I feel bad for Kitna because I lived in SW Ohio back in 00-03 and the fans were relentless. Too bad if the Bengals didn't have Kitna, they wouldn't have had a chance of winning once Carson got hurt.
  5. Well it's kinda lame to give the nl-asshole award to the person it's named after. I want to wait until your dead before naming it the nl-asshole award, but I'm sure you'll live much longer than I will, so there's no time like the present to see who will get the award this year.
  6. Even though the Patriots would have faced Indy in the next round had Cincy won the game. Ookie Dookie. So the powers that be, instead of having the Indy/NE matchup next week, want to wait another round where Indy and NE both risk the possibility of losing? Gotcha.
  7. The Steelers thugged it up a bit in that game, but when you're in the playoffs and playing a divisional opponent, you better bring your mean streak. What I found funny was despite all the hitting and injuries, personal fouls were called on that lame "late hit" to Ranal El and Troy P's ball-throwing incident. Count me among those looking forward to a certain poster calling it quits, too. Actually, I agree that it is annoying to see him dance a jig after those 3-yard runs. Almost as annoying as those "Bus" wordplays. The Bus got a flat. Everyone get on the Bus. Put some snow tires on the Bus. The wheels on the Bus go round and round. This Bus is headed to the Super Bowl (not). The Bus is running on a full tank. Christ almighty.
  8. Divisional Playoffs: TSM Jacksonville (Always Pissed Off) @ Denver (Canadian Chris) Cleveland (SFA Jack) @ New England (nl-asshole) NY Giants (Cartman) @ Atlanta (King of the 909) Detroit (Bravesfan) @ Philadelphia (Real World's Champion) The Other Place Cleveland (SFA Jack) @ New England (nl-asshole) Jacksonville (Always Pissed Off) @ Cincinnati (Slapnuts) Atlanta (Steve Joseph) @ New Orleans (Bob Barron) Arizona (Vern Gagne) @ Minnesota (Kahran Ramsus) Some Playoff notes: • Defending TSM champ (Cartman) advances, last year's runner-up (Bob Barron) got eliminated. • Despite not giving any team scores, APO advances in both leagues. • For the first time in three seasons, Vern heads to the second round. • Unlike last year, when he also didn't submit picks in the first round, nl-asshole will be making selections in the divisional round.

  10. And whose fault is that, amigo? I really didn't have a problem getting caught by customers on my way out from a shift because I usually closed. However, when I used to work at the gas station there would always be this asshole who would linger in the store for 5 minutes right when we were about to do a shift change. Basically, the person working whose done with his or her shift would have to close out the register, hit a few keys and wait for a shift report to print out. Then the person replacing that cashier would have to enter in his or her info. Well, we always tried to do this when the crowds were minimal, both in the store and at the pump. However, there was always THAT ONE PERSON who would look at the candy aisle for 10 minutes doing nothing, and then bring his shit up when we were doing this procedure. They would then get all bent out of shape because THEY WERE IN A HURRY. What was great about these idiots was if they were paying for a small order with a $20 they usually had to wait while we got change from our in-store safe (we always started out our registers with minimal bills.
  11. What kind of "view" do you guys use? For right now the game play is pretty realistic (using All-Star, no slider adjustments) except for striking out too damn much and not hitting a lot of home runs. Maybe a new change of scenery might work for me.
  12. Cool. And I don't have LeClair. I have a bunch of grinders and checkers who are crap. They won't last the season. And I won my first game 6-3 vs. the Bruins. I got two empty netters so the score is a bit misleading. How do the defensive pairing sub in and out -- there's only 3 pairings and 4 scoring lines, so I'm assuming the defensement do their own thing.
  13. I don't do the tie-breakers until all the games are played, but from just glancing at the final scores and looking at what you two have put down, it doesn't look good for you.
  14. It'll be a tough fight, but in the end I think the Bucs will prevail.
  15. What used to piss me off is when you're closing and people are still in the store. Now I can understand some people have crazy schedules and might not be able to shop in the middle of the day, but show some goddamn respect for the person who put in an eight-hour shift and has to wait on your ass to finish checking out. To be fair, if they know nothing about computers/Internet, they probably don't know who to call. There have been a few times when I had problems at work with our systems and I didn't know who to call. I'd always start with the DSL provider and work my way from there -- I never give an attitude to the CSR however, because trying to fix something you can't see for yourself is hard.
  16. So far, my only complaint is I hate how the AI scores cheezy goals right after you do. For example, I just played my second game (at Carolina) and had a shot explosion after the first period (something like 10 shots to 1). I finally cracked through in the second period, but then they skated right down after the face off and scored some hippie goal with no one-timer/rebound/deflection. Of course I lose 1-1 in a shootout because I still don't know what the hell I'm doing in regards to penalty shots. Also, they don't seem to call many penalties -- I have that slider jacked up and there's only been one penalty called in each of my first two games. In addition, if I release players, do their salaries count against my budget or something, or do they just get released and I reap the savings? I have a LOT of old crappy players I'll never use and doubt I'll get any trade value for them.
  17. Damn Mexicans are taking over.
  18. Now that was just rude.
  19. Well, played my first franchise game as the Pens after tweaking my lines. Lost to NJ 4-2. Was tied late in the third then my players quit. Oh well, there's 81 more games to go.
  20. I always liked the Baseball starting-NBA/NHL playoffs-NFL Draft time of year.
  21. Deadline has come and gone. You are lucky because I was about to name you this year's nl-asshole. And it looks like a lack of playoff experience has hurt APO -- he didn't submit any scores.
  22. I'm not trying to secret it. I don't want to post the link of one message board while at another message board. Just trying to be polite. Actually, I think that reason is even worse than the one you gave. Goddamnit.
  23. Despite having trouble opening the link, I'm pretty sure this has already been posted. Not that I'm complaining mind you.
  24. You gotta admit it's better than actually watching them. It was funny back in the summer of '04 because Rush had Arlen Specter (PA Senator) on his show to answer questions about some pseudo-scandal that was going on at the time (I can't remember what it was), and of course the segment took place during a Pirates game, so nobody from the Shittsburgh area got to hear it. The next day local callers complained that they didn't hear the segment because the Pirates were getting crushed 10-0 or something like that by the Brewers.
