The year I enjoyed most of all the years I watched wrestling was 2000. I watched WWF, WCW, ECW and UPW(The one that shows a mixture of old WCCW and USWA and newer C-Grade indy matches). Here's how my week went for wrestling viewing Monday: Nitro and Raw Tuesday: Off Day Wednesday: Thunder Thursday: Smackdown Friday: ECW on TNN Saturday: WCW Saturday Night and WWF Shotgun Sunday: UPW and Sunday Night Heat Add to that several PPVs and me renting wrestling tapes constantly. Man I fucking miss those days. Strangely in 2000 I considered myself more of a WCW fan than anything- for some strange reason I wanted to go down with that ship.

I was taping Dolemite a few weeks ago and I was watching the tape I was taping over just to see what was on the tape. I saw about two or three minutes of Jung Dragons Vs Three Count from an old Nitro and started getting excited- until all of a sudden it cut into an old episode of the local news where my dad was interviewed talking about the New England Patriots. DAMN MY DAD FOR WANTING HIS 15 SECONDS OF FAME DOCUMENTED! I found a tape a while back that had Game 6 of the 86 World Series and a Raw that had a main event of Diesel Vs Virgil. Ah the ball flowing through Bill Buckner's legs followed by Kevin Nash's flowing locks....what a torture device that tape is.

Not really old school but I really like Slamboree 99. Something about it makes me think it's a pretty good PPV. With the exception of Nash-DDP and Konnan- Stevie Ray, I think it's a pretty solid card top to bottom. I also love Survivor Series 89 and 90 mostly because they were some of the first PPVs I ever saw. I like the fact that the pudgy guy from 98 Degrees is laying on the couch every other episode, never interacting with anyone and no one ever interacting with him. I find it hillarious for some reason.

"Nearby" national sports arenas) Fleet Center: Not a bad seat in the house, comfortable seats but fairly generic looking and not much to do besides the game. 7 out of 10. Fenway Park: Whoever said you can't polish a turd hasn't seen Fenway's renovations. It's still got the hard ass seats and obstructed views and is still a shitty ass ballpark...but it has created a nice event atmosphere. Even games with crap teams like Tampa or Baltimore feel special. 7 out of 10. Gillette Stadium: Haven't seen it yet. Probably won't until the Patritots have 4-12 seasons. Which hopefully won't be for a long long time. (Local minor league arena teams) Hadlock Field: Home of Red Sox AA affiliate Portland Sea Dogs. Exterior looks like a mini Coors field. Interior is rather generic with aluminum bleachers so they can pack in as many people. It's loud as hell when you're in the concourse and people are stomping on the bleachers because of some amazing Sea Dogs hit and/or play. Cumberland County Civic Center: Home of Washington Capitals minor league affiliate Portland Pirates. 25 years old and people are already demanding a newer arena. Was built in the "Build First, Ask questions later" era of the early to mid 70's. It doesn't help the fact that only 1500-2000 people usually show up in the 8,000 seat arena for Pirates games. Has ugly ass yellow and black seats which are the colors of Portland's former minor league hockey team.
