  1. *bump* Didn't feel like starting a new thread so I just bumped this one. I found out that Bob Dylan's minor league baseball tour is heading near my way to Manchester, New Hampshire on August 27th. Jimmie Vaughn's new band and Junior Brown are opening. Tickets are expensive ($50, the same price I paid for U2 tickets last year) but I've got the money and it's a smaller venue (6,000 seats) plus it's Bob Fucking Dylan!
  2. I was saying with Vietnam, I think he's as good if not a better than JFK. Although it's really not saying much, since IMO, JFK wasn't around long enough. I can't really judge if he was a good president. LBJ seemed to be a mediocre president with a few good ideas.
  3. My best friend cried when Marlon Wayans died in that movie when we saw it in theaters. He was 13 years old at the time. Yes, he is one lame ass white boy.
  4. I think Lyndon B. Johnson was as good of if not a better president than John F. Kennedy. If you get rid of Vietnam, then it's obviously LBJ>JFK
  5. Sounds like a decent enough show but I'll be driving up to my family's camp at that time. *sigh* Maybe I'll be able to catch the main event at least.
  6. Yeah, I'd say it's a rental if you're curious. I think it's a bad movie but it's definitely interesting and I could see how someone would like it.
  7. I loved Punch Drunk Love, it was my favorite Sandler movie because it had a cohesive script and Paul Thomas Anderson knew how to properly utilize Sandler's marginal acting skills. That and it had an amazing supporting cast while Click had a bunch of washed up actors from the 70s and 80s who seemed to be half assing it.
  8. I agree that way we can eliminate or at least downsixe the National Endowment for the Arts. Don't get me wrong I love the arts, I've been involved since the age of 8 but come on does our tax money really need to fund it? I agree with you again with the point the money that goes to the NEA could be going to much much more things important.

  10. Right that's what I was basically trying to say. If I had to pick a national age for it to be legal to have sex- I'd say 16.
  11. I know this may be weird for my introductary post to this forum (I may have posted here once or twice) but I'll say what's on my mind. I really don't see what's wrong with consensual sex between an adult and a minor to an extent. I mean student-teacher relationships are always awkward and having sex with prepubescent kids or even most pubescent kids is wrong. But...if say a 16 or 17 year old knows what they're getting into and wants to have sex with someone in their late 20s, I honestly don't see a problem. I think the thing is most kids that age don't really know what they're getting into and most older people aren't having sex with minors for the right reason. So I uh hope you don't think I'm a N.A.M.B.L.A supporter or something cause I'm not.
  12. I saw it last night. I disagree with most of you and thought it kind of sucked. I'd give it *1/2 out of *****. It was an incredibly unfocused screenplay with actors on cruise control throughout. It was like they had two different scripts; one wacky typical Sandler comedy and a melodrama with a message. I thought if they wanted to do a melodrama, they should have gotten a better actor than Sandler and if they wanted to do a wacky Sandler movie they should have lightened it up a bit. I also thought the dramatic scenes felt forced. Don't get me wrong, I'm a pretty big Sandler fan and I admire him for taking chances with his projects but this one just didn't do it for me. I thought the premise was a decent one ( a remote control that controls your entire life) but the execution rather poor.

It was like they had two different scripts; one wacky typical Sandler comedy and a cheesy, maudlin dramedy. 14. Ben Folds is better live, mostly because his in between song stories.
  15. Tank Abbott wasn't really fat just sort of pudgy but would make a better opponent than Bam Bam Bigelow for Jake "The Milkman" Millman
  16. The weird thing about Kennedy is I was at a house show last week (the report is probably on the 2nd page still) and when he came out, he got a huge pop. Probably the 3rd or 4th biggest pop of the night behind only Batista and Lashley. And the crowd was giving him a good sized pop until he got on the mic and started insulting the audience. Then a couple of minutes later, the entire building was seething wanting to see Kennedy get his and shouting "Kill 'em Tatanka!". I've never seen an audience reaction quite like that. Either Kennedy is an incredible heel or the marks were complete fools. I think one day, hopefully later rather than sooner, Kennedy will be a superover smartass babyface but I'd like to see him pushed as a heel for a while before that.
  17. I can't believe I did that. Who was a fat fuck in WCW 2000? I guess since there's no better option I'll add Bam Bam Bigelow Vs Jake "The Milkman" Millman to the card.
  18. AWA 1989 Vs WCW 2000 (The creme de la crap) Best two out of three falls Larry Zbysko Vs Jeff Jarrett Booker T Vs Colonial DeBeers Sting Vs Greg Gagne Ken Patera and Scott Norton Vs Kronic Wendi Richter Vs Madusa Boot camp match Sgt. Slaugher Vs General Hugh G. Rection The Destruction Crew Vs The Perfect Event Chavo, Hector and Mondo Guerrero Vs Three Count 2 on 1 Asylum match Tank Abbott and Rick Steiner Vs Jake "The Milkman" Millman "Rock and Roll" Buck Zumoff Vs The Disco Inferno I think dozens possibly even hundreds would flock to see this epic card.
  19. That raises a couple of questions for me. How long was the Cat in WWE? And did he ever wrestle a match or did he just commentate? Since I wasn't watching during that period, why was he with Vince in that clip
  20. How about One Man Gang with the WCW U.S. title in late 95/early 96? It really came out of nowhere. I mean Gang was a competent big man, but he was at least six or seven years past his prime and wasn't really built up to be a contender for the #2 title in WCW. He appeared shortly before and disappeared shortly after IIRC.
  21. I've only been to about four house shows and two TV tapings (One Superstars in July 94 and one WCW Saturday Night taping in May 98) plus a half dozen or so indy shows so I haven't seen many workrate classics. I'd say the best match I've seen was a Bret Hart Vs Owen Hart lumberjack match from the Superstars taping I attended (It's on a Coliseum tape). It's not as good as their other matches, but it's damn good nonetheless (I'd put it in the ***1/2-**** range) and probably the best lumberjack match I've ever seen (Which isn't saying much since lumberjack matches are my least favorite gimmick matches)
  22. 308 And some of the shows are on Universal HD in HD like Knight Rider and Equalizer. Oh, and Sleuth didnt replace Trio..Trio was turned into one of the first ever internet networks and taken off cable. Yeah I know but on my cable system that was what replaced Trio. Marvin, I need to unleash my rage on someone!
  23. I watch it from time to time to see Homicide: Life On The Street reruns. But that motherfuckin' channel replaced Trio, which was one of my favorites!
  24. Reflecting on this past weekend and the Smackdown show I went to, I was thinking about bad matches that I've seen live. I saw an epic Kendall Windham Vs Jim Neidhart match at a WCW Saturday Night taping in May of 98 (Battle of the relatives of famous wrestlers). I saw a monumetous six man tag that saw Mark Henry team up with Rob Conway and Hugh Morrus to battle with D Von Dudley, Batista and Albert in 2002. This past weekend, I saw the Great Khali squash Matt Hardy like a bug. But I think the worst match I've seen live was a match from this past weekend, Vito Vs Funaki. A good 75% of the match was stalling from both wrestlers and the wrestling that was there was mediocre at best. The crowd shit on the match and rightfully so. So what was the worst match you guys have seen live?
  25. And lest we forget, a Triple Hesque foe in Jeff Jarrett
