Tommorrow, I might see a Sea Dogs doubleheader against the Binghamton Mets, a battle between the top team and the bottom team in the division. The vaunted minor league baseball in between entertainment gods, The Zooperstars are appearing. It'll be good to see Roger Clamens and Ken Giraffey Jr. again.

I don't think there are any Deuce fans in this thread, hence the bashing. I think Ebert's review is hillarious as someone who owns his book, I Hate Hate Hate This Movie (His compilation of reviews of bad movies). Its good to see a critic go off on a piece of shit Hollywood dreck.

What's with all of the lobster hate in this thread? Lobster's one of my favorites. Then again, I am from Maine.
-
They're worse than the Vines (I'll give the Vines credit for doing a half decent cover of I'm Only Sleeping on the I Am Sam Soundtrack) and that's really saying something.
-
I'm listenting to The Ramones cover album Acid Eaters right now and their cover of Substitute, is a bit disapointing mostly due to the fact the background vocals annoy me. It's decent but I thought it'd be a lot better.

They don't test anything here in Maine, but they do have the New Hampshire and Maine only McLobster Roll!

I saw him in Double A at Portland, I went to this game with my dad and we were settling in our seats in the top of the first and all of a sudden Papelbon strikes out the side and we're like "Who the hell was that!?" I just wish Portland still had him for the Eastern League playoff race. Though it would be foolish for me to think all of the good prospects in Double A wouldn't be called up before the playoffs.

I'm mildly interested in the Rahman fight, the Mayorga fight and the McCall fight but I wouldn't pay anything to watch them. The Oliver McCall fight interests because isn't this the same Oliver McCall that started crying in the ring? Looking at his boxrec profile, McCall has only lost one fight since losing to Lennox Lewis (Granted the one fight he lost was against DaVaryl Williamson and he's beaten a bunch of nobodies.). Still if he can win a fight on a high profile PPV, Don King may find that to be enough to put him in another big title match against Chris Byrd or John Ruiz *shudder* Speaking of ripoff PPVs, next weekend, Ray Mercer is fighting Shannon Briggs on PPV for $30. I might pay for that.....if it were 1995. Granted, David Tua and Jameel McCline are on the undercard in separate bouts but nevertheless....any PPV main evented by two ten years past their primes boxers isn't worth squat. Whoops, just read that Mercer Vs Shannon Briggs wasn't the main event. The main event was actually an IBF Cruiserweight title match. Like I'd pay $30 for that..... and the immortal Lance "Mount Goofi" Whitaker is also on the undercard along with some undefeated middleweight prospect. Still nothing to pay $30 although Lance Whitaker was involved in one of my favorite boxing memories of all time.

I liked Ready to Rumble when I first saw it as a mark..........after a 2nd or 3rd viewing....well let's just say my opinion's changed. I also liked Bodyslam as a mark. That M. Harry Smilac, what a character.... Plus how can't you like a movie with Charles Nelson Reiley? -
she married the 30 something year old singer of Third Eye Blind who produced her last album. Which is almost like marrying a scumbag, slimey 40 something manager.

I watched 10 Things I Hate About You when it premiered on Starz, I was like "Eh, I'll watch this for a little while at least there should probably be a lot of hot chicks." but I found the movie was a really good teen comedy. -
I saw Dorm Daze, one of the worst teen comedies I've ever seen. I enjoy Adult Swim from time to time, I'm not a huge fan but come on, it's WAY WAY more cooler than National Lampoon is. National Lampoon making fun of Adult Swim seems bitter, because Adult Swim isn't THAT popular but it does have the audience that National Lampoon once had twenty years ago. It just seems like National Lampoon is trying to be a counterculture to the counterculture.

Oh yeah, I loved Pootie Tang. I saw it when it first premiered on HBO with low expectations and I was laughing my ass off the whole time. I also don't think Battlefield Earth sucks, don't get me wrong I'm not a fan and the movie is idiotic and filled with gaping plotholes, but its no more idiotic than a lot of Hollywood blockbusters that have made lots of money. John Travolta looked like he was having the time of his life in that movie. Besides how can you hate an alien Forrest Whitaker? -
The first X-Men movie I went into, thinking, "I alright I know this going to suck but I'm not paying for this so it's not that bad" I was blown away when I walked out, not because it was a great movie (It was pretty good) but because, I was 110% sure it was going to suck ass and it didn't. The only reason I went to Galaxy Quest is because the movie I went to see had sold out. So I came in with little expectations but the movie was actually a fun popcorn flick. I rented Bubble Boy just to see how bad it was and I ended up laughing my ass off. It's not a great movie, but its one of my top guilty pleasures. It's such an entertaining clusterfuck. I probably have more that I can't remember now. Any of you guys thought something was going to suck and you actually ended up liking it?

Here's an obscure one I found out about a year or two back. Terry Funk won the U.S. title at a house show in the late summer/early fall of 2000 against Lance Storm in his hometown of Amarillo, Texas and ya know, I'm not even sure if WCW even bothered job the title off of Funk on a later house show. Like the say, if it didn't happen on TV, it didn't happen.

Both on Vinyl for $3 combined.

I'm going to buy tickets to see the Celts against The Heat, Cavs and Rockets. Seeing how the Celtics will probably be a 30 wins or less team, I might as well see them against good teams if I'm taking the two hour drive to Boston.

I gotta put the Muppet Show Season One on my to get list. I love that show.

How's everyone's local minor league team doing as they go down the final stretch? The Portland Sea Dogs are at the top of the division by 2 games, and it doesn't look like they're going to falter. They've got a boatload of prospects (I think they have something like 8 out of the top ten Red Sox prospects) and the 2005 Red Sox 1st round draft pick, Craig Hansen is getting called up this week to bolster the bullpen. I can't get too excited, cause the last time they made the playoffs was 1997 when the team was led by Kevin Millar and Josh Booty (They got eliminated by the Harrisburg Senators which had a young Vladimir Guerrero on the squad).

Edited for accuracy <{POST_SNAPBACK}> DAMN YOU! Seriously, I guess I would count as......... student. I don't work work. But school is almost like work....more like slave labor but its a bit like work.

Sid, he's always been over and capable of being carried to a good match. But everyone on the net seems to hate him like the plague.

1.do any of you like and still listen to his music if so how often? Not often but occasionally I'll pop in Off The Wall or Thriller 2. what albums do you own and what is your favourite MJ album? I own the Jackson 5's Greatest Hits and a Jackson 5 Christmas album. I own The Jacksons Destiny album (which was the blueprint for Michael's solo career) on vinyl. I own Off The Wall, Thriller (On Vinyl and cassette), Bad, and Dangerous. My favorite would be Thriller with Off The Wall as a close second. 3. What is your favourite song/Video of MJ? My favorite song is Human Nature, my favorite video is Smooth Criminal (Gotta love Joe Pesci) 4. What if any dvds/tapes do you own if any (moonwalker, history etc)? I have Moonwalker taped off of VH1 and History, and I have The Making of Thriller, and some documentary from 1989/1990ish on Michael. 5. have any of you seen him live (victory tour, bad tour, dangerous tour etc)? Nope

I enjoy that song too, Sum 41 is a lot better than Simple Plan and Good Charlotte and bands of those ilk. Which isn't saying much, but they've come a long ways since Fat Lip.

I'm going down to Fenway to see the Red Sox against the Kansas City Royals. One of the hottest teams in baseball versus the Kansas City Royals. What a (mis)match. I'm in the front row of the centerfield bleachers, so I'll have a good chance of heckling David DeJesus and wearing a wig and a beard and becoming one of Damon's Disciples. Should be a hoot.
