  1. Character wise, they're similar. Both rebellious, both don't give a shit about anyone. Both don't have respect for veteran wrestlers. I called this feud from the spring time. It clearly reminds me of Austin/Bret, because Angle is coming off a questionable Iron Man loss, and wants revenge, and here comes Cena to make fun of him and piss him off. This feud can be great if they do it right. Ring wise, it can be pretty good if Cena gets better and Angle puts his work boots on.
  2. Well, yeah, The Rock has a much bigger spotlight with the mainstream media crossover darling he's become. I just meant in general terms, Austin missed being there in general, and up until late 2001, Austin was THE man, even when Rock was around. When you get down to the specifics, their circumstances surrounding both their leaves are different, but in essence are the same. I, for one, think Austin should've never taken the "Co-GM" gimmick. He jobbed to The Rock (one of his good friends) and his legacy was carved in stone basically. Now this stupid gimmick just shows Austin's weakness and how Vince kind of owns him (at this point). This is why I think Rock should not come back at all. He accomplished everything you possibly could in wrestling. He doesn't need Vince and the WWE, but the only thing I'm thinking is that Rock might come back for the fans' attention.
  3. I completely agree with Choken One's statement. The Rock, as of right now, is too good for the current state of the WWE, and should let the Titanic slowly sink its way down (via the iceberg that is goldberg, and Triple H). He's establishing himself in Hollywood as an actor, and he's building a whole new career for himself. I think Rocky is seeing what Austin saw last year, in that the WWE on camera and backstage sucks monkey balls, and that he should let Vince & Triple H run it in to the ground. Austin came back 8 months later because he couldn't be away from the spotlight, will Rock do the same thing? Who knows. Right now, I wouldn't want The Rock to come back. Let him evolve in Hollywood, and hopefully he'll become even more successful.
  4. The last ****+ match? I would have to say Benoit/Guerrero from Vengeance. Such a beautifully paced match, and the ending didn't ruin the match, despite what some other people might think.
  5. Ditto. Even though Cena is a rapper character, if there's a feud with just Angle and Cena, with neither of them doing silly, overbooked nonsense, than it'll be great, based on the elevation aspect of it (like Angle/Edge). There's a definite possibility for this feud to happen. -Cena looks up to Angle in real life, so he can play it out like "Damn, you used to be da man, but now Brock cut off yo nuts, and now you ain't jack" or something like that. He can basically feud with Angle because he feels he needs to "slap some sense" into Angle, after taking down a legend like Undertaker. -If Angle takes time off due to his sister's apparent death, they can play it up when Angle comes back (let's say, a month later). Cena can verbally trash Angle on the stick as long as Angle's out, and Cena basically calls Angle out as a "chicken" or what not, since he lost to Brock in an Iron Man and then left (coughBretAustincough). They can build up a big match at Survivor Series and have Angle win in a back-and-forth match (neither man completely dominates, but Cena has the edge a bit more) and regain his status. This way Angle takes down a rising star-power heel (after they build Cena up), and Cena looks strong during the match for the most part, pulling out all the stops for a victory, but it's Angle the veteran who gets the win. This is all assuming that the Cena/Eddy feud is done with and there won't be any more resolution to it.
  6. Seems a bit quick for this but anyway: JustCallMeDan Papacita Bravesfan HartFan86 Anglesault Downhome
  7. The Iron Man match is not MOTY quality, but there haven't been many MOTYC out of the WWE this year so far, so it might be at least top ten, if not top five (factoring in other North American promotions). It was a very good television match, but it had glaring faults, which I mentioned in the SD thread. As for Cena, he has improved his game some, and is grasping the aspects of psychology. He hasn't become anything great in the ring, but he's getting more above average each week. He hasn't had a horrendous match with anyone (except for the Backlash ME fiasco). Working with Benoit, Undertaker, and Eddy is definitely helping Cena, and within the next year he will become something special, imho.
  8. Strangely enough, I was watching the entire Iron Man match on a mini-tv at my restaurant when I was working (well closing up anyway). The blatant stalling could've been cut down, and they should have done more amateur-style work instead of intense brawling. They could've told a much better story if they started with their amateur holds, then started the viscious brawling, and then tie in the finishing maneuvers toward the last twenty minutes. Overall a nice television match, but it wasn't anything of extreme importance, other than the fact that Brock wins clean, but Angle still looks strong. ***- at the most
  9. Buffalo over Miami San Fran over Cleveland NY Giants over Washington
  10. I think people have taken their infatuation with Triple H (either hating him or not) to a weird level. So the guy is having a bachelor party. So what? I think we should all live with the fact that Triple H is still considered a young guy, and will be around for a long time. I haven't watched Raw since April, and it's done wonders. I'm sure there are plenty other topics to complain about other than Triple H (not saying I like him, he is a shell of his former self, and does play politics, but what can we do about it besides complain?).
  11. I hope they are not holding off the Eddy/Cena feud. But I am pleased with this Thursday's Smackdown lineup. Looks promising.
  12. I only know one CWM, and that's CobainWasMurdered....
  13. Here's the hilarity of the boycott thing: Internet Fans Boycott = Raw ratings climb to a yearly high of 4.9. Vince's reaction = "Haah...I knew those snot-nosed 'net punks don't affect anything I do"
  14. I wonder if Jericho will ever rant about how he'll never get a substantial World Title reign.
  15. Angle and Cena as a tag team? That'd be a retarded combination. Like someone said their characters do not mesh well at all. I'd rather see them feuding actually. Then it would make more sense (Cena: guy with no respect, arrogance vs. Angle: the rising legend).
  16. Commercials could actually help keep this match interesting (to the television audience at least). If you think about it, because of Brock's leg and Angle having to be careful with his neck, there are definitely going to be at least a few rest spots, so if they cue in commercials during those spots (chokeholds, facelock, headlock) it won't seem as boring. I'm hoping that Angle and Lesnar bust out an amazing match, but we'll have to wait and see I guess.
  17. Kevin Nash is in the Punisher movie? Please I hope he's not cast as the main star.
  18. When is his book due? I definitely want to pre-order it.
  19. Well, the feud hasn't lasted that long so far for it to warrant absolute blood-boiling hatred. Yeah, they both can't stand each other, but nothing has gotten to the point where they legitimately hate each other (to me at least). Stealing someone's tire or stealing someone's throwback jersey shows that Cena and Eddy are showing distaste for each other, and now (hopefully) we'll see some developing hatred between the two. It wasn't a great idea to have a gimmick match already, let alone a parking lot brawl. I guess we'll have to see what will happen and if the feud escalates into something bigger and better.
  20. I only saw Benoit/Rhyno and Cena/Eddy and both were fun to watch, and Benoit/Rhyno was a well-paced match and I hope they develop the feud into something more concrete. As for Eddy/Cena, the feud is developing nicely, and the Parking Lot Brawl was a fun little fiasco. I hope they don't leave it at that, but since Chavo interfered on Eddy's behalf, I think it'll escalate more.
  21. I'm amazed at the number of people that even care for Raw.
  22. That'd be funny to see Goldberg cast as a Tazmanian devil-double for laughs, and have him get his ass kicked in the movie (like Coyote dropping a boulder on him).
  23. Word Life~! EDIT: Never done a triple post before, sorry.
  24. Well, it's the Big Show.
