Nah, get GTA: Vice City. It'll help hone their defensive driving skills for later in life and lets them practice their hooker pickup lines. Gotta love the "It's not MY job to raise my kid" brand of parenting. And why isn't ESPN pimping the hell out of their own game franchise? They kind of paint themselves into a corner when some of their shows (NFL Matchup for one) are sponsored by EA and use EA's games to illustrate different things.

It's official, Kurt Warner is a Giant. Hmm, Warner, a green Eli Manning, or the Bachelor. Whatta decision. Man, outside McNabb (and even HE is becoming a bit iffy in my eyes), and assuming Testaverde signs with Dallas, the NFC East has the biggest collection of mediocre QBs in the league. Terrell Buckley may be re-signing with the Pats after spending one year in Miami.

Kinda pathetic to devote an entire section of your forums just to bash message boards, isn't it? And that 4 out of the 6 topics were started by the owner and have no replies?

^ we wanna hire him to our cause. Trade for this man next season. LVJ wants him on our team. As long as Kostka wants in on our team, of course. I'd entertain a trade, or I'd put Vegas at the top of my list in FA talks (I THINK I only have one year left after this year, I might have two). Especially if the Pride blow it in the playoffs this year.

Wow, Anaheim's defensive replacement at 3B with a bonafide Web Gem to end the game. Great leaping grab.
-
Holy shit, what a first season as a starter. Really, if we don't win the title this year (and get blown the fuck out in game 7 again), it's never gonna happen. Oh and Evo, since we seem to be getting more pitchers signing up, could you throw in the League Leaders in pitching in the updates (K's and ERA, with wins if you want)?
-
Just like to give this thread a bump since today is Cap Casualty day. Doesn't seem like there will be TOO many big names up for grabs this year, but Kurt Warner and Vinny Testaverde seem to be ready to go elsewhere and Kordell Stewart has the interest of the Ravens.

It's kind of like a summer league for the NFL. Teams send the players they believe could use some seasoning over to Europe to get their feet wet and see how they perform. I GUESS you could think of it as a developmental league. It's helped some players along; Adam Vinatieri and Jake Delhomme both spent time overseas.

It's LA. Probably 50% of the people that attend Laker games actually are passionate and know something about basketball, the rest are celebrities wanting camera time and people who just watch because they're winning. LA just doesn't strike me as a city that knows it's sports (unlike cities like Boston, NYC, Philly, etc.)

There is such a thing as being a sore winner, you know. Let's bypass the Laker bitching and discuss matchups for the Finals, hmm?

Usually when they go out West, they stop in Oakland, Seattle, or both. And it isn't even a normal three game series, it's just two. They have an off day on Thursday to travel, so that's good, but I just found it odd scheduling.

Got a little behind the times there. I don't get the Sox road trip this week; they fly all the way out west for TWO games against the Angels, and then trek to Kansas City for the weekend. Who thought THAT up?

I play most of my MLB games, but if my 5th starter is going on the last game of a 4 game series, 9/10 times I sim it. I also simmed pretty much the entire month of September in my first season since I had the division pretty much locked up. I brought up Robert Person from the Pawsox just to give him some big league time, since he's 35 and probably retiring soon, and he's given up 3 runs total in 3 starts (about 20 IP). I've pretty much relegated Kim to long relief until Person cools down. Schilling would be running away with the Cy Young if it wasn't for Randy Johnson (who the Yankees acquired for Soriano in the offseason) having an even better year than Schilling.

Anyone know where I can get Mario Golf and Mario Tennis for the GBC?

I'm assuming this is about English soccer. No one is responding because there is already a thread for this topic.

No shit. You'd think he has a shovel instead of a bat going after pitches in the dirt like that. They had plenty of chances to win that game, though. Varitek just got under TWO balls that would have been homers otherwise, and if Daubach had a little fucking patience and vision. But that ground rule double by Ortiz was a killer. Stopped what would eventually been the tying run from scoring. Wake started off shaky, but settled down nicely, which was good to see. Oh, and judging by my subway experience getting to the park, I do NOT want to be anywhere near Boston for the DNC. It's bad enough waiting in line for 20 minutes for tokens, imagine how long it will take for security to check everyone out. And the Yankees are in town then....

I think Choken was picked last in the big kickball game. I'll agree that the second award and the big assembly was a bit much, but I guess the coach just wanted to get the parents off his ass. If there is a problem with youth sports, it's the parents.

A whiner for the rest of his life? How the hell would YOU know that? Who cares if the kid wasn't good? IT'S FREAKIN' MIDDLE SCHOOL BASKETBALL!!! Jeez, we aren't grooming the next Kobe here, it's just a bunch of 13 year olds running around the court for a few hours; let everyone join in. The whole thing was just a really stupid joke that blew up in the coach's face. If people are taking basketball games involving SEVENTH GRADERS seriously, then there is a major problem here.

Hey PFL, get my PM earlier? There was a board error so I don't know if it got through.

Stern probably finally got the hint that we don't need 5 days between playoff games and stretching the playoffs until late June.

I thought the drillers were fun characters, but Ben Affleck tried to sell a love angle with Liv Tyler and bombs, as usual. And a lot of the "action" scenes were just excessive. I FFed through half of them when I rented it.

Tom Brady was drafted in 2000 and a year later he's thrust into the starting job. He isn't doing a bad job at it, as I recall. Not the way the Patriots actually wanted him to start his career, I'd wager, but it worked out nicely.

Just schedule a poetry jam at some Compton high school and have him be the featured performer. Problem solved.
-
All he really has to do to improve in my eyes and still stay a face is eliminate the crowd pandering and turn his venom towards the heel he's facing. Take the promo on Big Show at XX; that's what I'm looking for. Keep the raps fresh, and don't get lazy with the gay references and "Deez nuts" crap, and he'll be even more over. The ring work would still need improvement, though.

The two reviews I read in the paper today (Providence Journal and Boston Herald) were positive, but they both essentially said to leave your brain at home for this one. I know it's just a braindead popcorn movie, but I'd rather see Shrek 2, Mean Girls, and a few other movies over this one.
