A BIG, HUGE, AWESOME match that can't possibly live up to the hype is added to the AngleMania card. Also, maybe Rodez in action, if anyone feels like jobbing to me. I...mean, having a match with me. That you might win. Yes.
-
Yeah, a very good back and forth match. Very fast paced. Might even have given Maddix a bit TOO much credit in the back and forth wrestling stakes. Uhm...yeah, that's my comment.

Damn right.

You'd think so, wouldn't you.

How about a comment thread? That's a novel idea.

SWF Smarkdown Card for February 28, 2005!
King Cucaracha replied to Ace309's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
Ah yes, Martial Law will be taking opening promo. And just for the record, N. and S. Dakota is Maddix Country. Don't forget it. -
Christian has got the potential to be big. He's the most entertaining guy on the show every week and a total natural character wise. As good as the early Rock maybe. They just need to find the right go-between between his goofy antics (which, like the attempts at out dancing Booker T a couple of years back are great amusement all well and good for the IC Title range, but need to be toned back a little if he's to go higher) and his serious character. The thing he needs is more of a moveset though. He has maybe two or three recognisable moves, where-as the WWE style benefits those who run through their feature spots.

Hmm...I think there MIGHT be a common theme here.

Polls as in poles? Or polls as in Exclusive Polls on WWE.com! Who should Chris Masters squirt with his hose next? Christy! Candace! Trish! or Chris Benoit! Vote now exclusively on WWE.com.

He's a decent bumper too. For a guy with his character that fans WANT to see get their ass kicked and of course being a heel, being a convincing bumper is a good characteristic. He does the 'spike' sell for DDTs too, which always gets a thumbs up from me. The one thing I have a problem with is the Camel Clutch. I know it's in his character (at least in WWE terms), but he needs to modify it somehow, because it's been used as resthold since Slaughter retired. That and the cloak.

Any special stage layout we should know about? And, where we gon'be?

*smiles, because I know I have the biggest Mania match* Suckers. Also, the X Title Match is confirmed as Leon Rodez vs. Vitamin X.

chikara 2/18 & 2/19 Torneo de Parejas al Azar
King Cucaracha replied to a topic in General Wrestling
-from CZWFans.com 8 Man was apparantly Icarus/Akuma/Beef/Bear against Anthony Franco/ Matt Turner/???/??? 10 Man was Version 2.0/Coribin/Shane Storm/Emil Sitoci/Trik Davis against Cheech/Cloudy/Davey Andrews/Shane Hagadorn/Larry Sweeney(~!) Feedback has been positive again, looks like the best CHIKARA show they've put on. Also, Hero cut a promo on Quackenbush post main event to cement his heel turn, which apparantly went down pretty well. Question is, does this mean Hero is officially a heel in IWA:MS too? Or did he turn on the last show? -
Seems quite a few on the board have grown tired of the recent Simpsons episode, which is true for me too. Watching the newer episodes, it seems like the show has problems with stories (i.e they're running out of them), while the characters are becoming parodies of themselves. But, we all know that. I thought about this the other day and the last Simpsons episode I actually enjoyed almost all of was "A Tale Of Two Springfields". Since then, I can't remember an episode where I've watched and haven't thought 'well, that was a decent episode'. So, what was the last ep you guys watched and enjoyed pretty much all of?

Turth is the non-smart wrestling fan or the casual fan doesn't know that he hasn't had a clean win since his regin started and they probably won't care. Unless they really hate him and have been keeping up with his win/loss record, which would be a tad creepy. I would compare it to the Honkey Tonk Man IC title regin but since the annoucers don't really admit that he hasn't won any title defense clean, I can really compare it to that. I'm sure casual fans realise JBL always has help to win. The World Champion should ALWAYS look like a legitimate threat at some point during their reign. JBL looks nothing like a legitimate threat. Because he won the title thanks to Angle, retained thanks to the Cabinet and/or Heidenreich time and time again and then, finally, when he got put in a match with no help available...he won by accident. Now, you don't have to have access to the internet and be a smart fan to realise JBL won by accident. JBL has zero credibility anymore. He is, to casual and to smart fans, a joke. As Anglesault always used to point out, no World Champion should EVER have a Honkey Tonk reign...because once the belt is gone, the former champ is dead and buried.

Y2J also used the Enziguri for a while, so that's 5 for him. Steiner had the Downward Spiral, Inverted DDT, Steiner Recliner and Frankensteiner (from the 93 era, still counts). May also have used the 2x Underhook Powerbomb for a while, can't remember on that.

They've taken this whole 'JBL is a lucky champion' deal WAY too far now. This was the equivalent of Angle at Armageddon (HIAC). As much as JBL is an unsuitable WWE Champ (even though I can't help liking the guy's character and think he's improved noticeably in-ring), you can't blame ALL of the bad points of his title reign on him. He's had ZERO clean wins since winning the title and only retains the belt by interference or, last night, through sheer luck. Doesn't matter if you're Bradshaw or Benoit- If you're booked as a joke champion, you don't stand a chance. Blame JBL all you want, but he's been booked out of whatever credibility he may have had. Tag Title Match- NWO wins. Taker or Lawler- NWO wins. Diva crap- NYR wins. Heidenreich or Snitsky- NWO wins. IC Title/Cruiser Title- NWO wins. #1 Contender Final/1st half of EC- NWO wins. 2nd half of EC/HV Title- NYR wins.

Off the top of my head, wasn't there a Filthy Animals/M.I.A feud in WCW where the Animals played the heels? If not, I'm sure the only time Rey has ever been heel, if at all, was as part of the Animals in WCW.

Not Martial Law w/me. You only beat the b-team.

Orton vs. Undertaker at WrestleMania?
King Cucaracha replied to Matt Young's topic in The WWE Folder
HHH kills Orton's credibility. The booking team kills his fanbase by turning him. Makes sense for Taker to finish the job at Mania. I wouldn't worry about the streak ending. -
Not I, said the fly. I'll do it. Also, X Title on the line with opponent TBA. And Rodez'll find out his opponent for Zero Hour. Well, my opponent MIGHT be a Lightning Crew member. But seeing as I'm still waiting on a PM, anyone wants the shot instead, just ask. And...try to do it quickly.

The only thing a heel turn will mean is him facing faces instead of heels. I don't see how Eddie being a heel will make any difference. The fans will still cheer when he cheats. They'll still pop for the lowrider entrance. It's Eddie. I also don't understand the fuss over this. Eddie can work heel or face and pull it off...his most successful run ever argueably was as a heel in AAA. His heel run in WCW was no disaster either. People BUY Eddie as a heel, in both legitmacy terms and likely money terms. And to be honest, from a character stand-point, Eddie tends to be a little cheesy at times in the face role. Remember the booby-trapped lowrider? Or stealing JBL's hat. You get a heated Eddie/Rey feud, Eddie gets a career boost and more likely than not, this means Eddie is being lined up for Cena post-Mania. I doubt the Hispanic audience will turn off in droves for a heel turn.

So, I'm guessing Fleisch announces his return on the show, either for a one-shot deal or hopefully full-time. Don't suppose any of the Brits here are attending?
-
Yeah, I remember it was on one of the CHV releases...can't remember what one though. EDIT: Apparently it was Invasion Of The Bodyslammers, from about '93.
