  1. Rumble 92 effects: Hogan - Flair is announced as the #1 contender at the Mania 8 press conference. Sid is outraged and throws things around (which in the era of 1992 is enough to say he turned heel), challenges Hogan to defend his title on the Fox SNME and says he's a coward if he refuses. Hogan wins and Sid goes crazy again, and with the help of Flair ends up putting Hogan on the shelf until Mania (he does promos from home indicating he'll be healthy enough to to wrestle at Mania and the sit down interview with Vince where retirement is brought up still happens). At Mania, Flair manages to pin Hogan (who was badly limping after a Sid attack during the match and figure four). There is a 2-1 on beatdown going on until the Ultimate Warrior makes the save, vowing to lead the fight against both Sid and Flair while Hogan sits at home until 1993. The PPV also features a tag match between Savage and Undertaker vs Sid and Jake Roberts (Taker still kills Roberts on the floor to send him to WCW). Roberts - Everything goes exactly the same by the time Mania rolls around (Savage wins the title from transitional champion Roberts on SNME) except Flair is now a challenger, but still tries to get in Savage's head with the Liz angle. Savage - Same as above except Savage retains his title over Roberts on SNME. Sid - Hogan is named #1 contender and Sid welcomes the challenge with a handshake. Turns heel on Hogan in the SNME tag match and cuts a promo about it saying he's bigger than Hulkamania ever was and he will end it once and for all at Mania. Feud goes the same as it really did (sit down interview with Vince to hint at retirement so he can take a year off). Ideally Hogan jobs on his way out (due to Flair interference) but since it's Hogan, it's probably a DQ finish. Same 2 on 1 beating as above with Warrior making the save (except the roles of Sid and Flair in Warrior's feud is reversed). Savage vs. Flair as a regular bout (but with the Liz angle) highlights the undercard of Mania. Taker - I was going to cop out on this one and just say "Taker loses the title to Savage on SNME and everything at Mania happens the same", but since Taker was protected well at this time (and thus would not be put in the position of holding the title to lose cleanly), let's shake this one up. Sid stays face and we get something like Sid and Savage vs. Flair and Roberts on the Mania undercard and Hogan challenges Taker for the title at Mania. Same situation as with Sid above - Hogan either accepts the job on his way out for a year or we settle for a schmoz DQ due to Undertaker brutality. Warrior makes the save to continue the 1991 Taker/Warrior feud. Piper - I was going to have him lose both titles at Mania (one to Bret, one to Flair), but I'll let the poor man have some dignity and take his world title away at SNME (courtesy of Flair), putting everything into "the way it really happened" mode (except the world is robbed of the shock proof vest gag).
  2. Excellent parody work, albert.
  3. Bus stops that are placed directly BEFORE a traffic light, causing the light to change from green to red while some woman with a walker gets on/off the bus, slowing the momentum down even more (and eventually adding up to the 2 extra minutes that would have helped you get your transfer bus right away instead of waiting 18 minutes for another one).
  4. We tried going to the latest showing last night and it was sold out, and apparently had been for about 30 minutes. I did suggest to my friends that we leave early since the movie was catering to our demographic (20 somethings that go to the movies during the summer late on a cheap night) but alas, other committments caused us to not leave for the theatre until 9:45 (movie was at 10:20).
  5. For some reason the video game story amused me.
  6. Eugene and Moore sounds like an odd team. I was hoping Matt vs MVP for the title would be happening at SummerSlam (that seems to be what all these non-wrestling segments are building too) but I don't recall how long MVP is not wrestling during his wellness program mandated time away from the ring. I expect him to be uncooperative with Matt next week and never get in the ringif the case is he still isn't supposed to be wrestling. Finlay vs Kane seems like a rather random match to add to SummerSlam but I'll take it.
  7. That seems to be up for debate. Cable companies (and mine specifically - Cogeco - when someone from a different market asked about this) seem to tell their customers it's WWE's fault but WWE.com's feedback section implies it's the cable company that is at fault.
  8. This is a funny PPV for me. I WANT to watch it because I enjoy watching PPVs and I'm still a mark for always seeing Rumbles, Manias, SummerSlams, and Survivor Series. The flip side of this is no one I know think's they'll be available Sunday night and even if we were to watch it, nothing on this card is making us excited about it. Rey/Chavo will be good but we saw it 20 times last year. Punk/Morrison could be good but it was pretty underwhelming at Vengeance and I haven't seen any of their TV matches since. Cena vs Orton will probably see the internet's two favourite wrestlers work hard and gel well enough to deliver a solid match but it doesn't really matter who wins.
  9. Speaking of no DQ matches, I hate it when wrestlers come up with schemes to distract the referee ("accidentally" knocking him out, manager or cornerman distraction, etc.) so someone else can run and/or a weapon can be used. Why bother with the scheming, you can do whatever you want.
  10. I haven't regularly been buying PPV DVDs since 2004 but Backlash was one of the E's best PPVs ever AND WWE is screwing over my 24/7 by not putting the recent PPVs I'm missing / not buying on DVD up when they're supposed to so I really wanted the DVD.
  11. It was the first reply, just having some fun.
  12. Sure did, right on time! The scheduled update was the 3/3 Monday Night War (Bulldog vs Owen), NWA 11/23/85, and CWF in TV with SummerSlam's Greatest Hits in Legends. I liked the SummerSlam thing if only because it uses the classic Early 90s Summerslam theme (awesome) and I had never actually seen Megapowers vs Megabucks before. It's on 24/7 Online, but I didn't get around to watching it, plus this is TV.
  13. I want Cena to retain but not because I have anything against Orton. Cena's been working hard all year and I believe he deserves the 12 month reign. If you're going to have Cena overcome every odd ever, might as well let him have the year long reign before shaking it up.
  14. What's next, pronouncing Triple as "Treble"? Treble Haitch? British people talk funny, eh?
  15. I like chuck415, he "gets it".
  16. No kidding Bob. I don't know how the thread quickly went from "kayfabe things that bother you" to "promotional moves you disliked". Not even close to being the same thing, folks. That said, when people who use a suplex variant as a finisher (Falcon Arrow, Jackhammer, etc.) apparently have their opponent in a weakened enough state to lift them into the air for a suplex... then drop them down to finish it as a regular suplex. Perhaps their spirit meter wasn't full.
  17. From the Garfield review: Ebert: "I laugh out loud at (couldn't hear comic name) and Family Circus" Roeper: "... that says it all".
  18. I was thinking this too. Here's hoping.
  19. So just to clarify, the new offices they all got at the end of the Busey episode and the apartment they got at the beginning of the next episode are NOT the same place?
  20. DSL or Cable modem? It might just be my connection isn't fast enough so I get choppy video. Also, I have a default video card (no 3D polygon rendering for me!) but I thought that only effected graphics processing.
  21. In regards to Shane and his half-brother, they gotta keep em seperated. However I can see Shane wanting to come out and play and wrestle some more.
  22. I love the Backlash one but that's because I'm a 24/7 subscriber and have been rocking out to that generic tune for a year on old ECW shows.
  23. No game show parody this week I guess. Hopefully the date segments make up for it.
  24. I was happy I finally found a copy of Backlash 2007 yesterday. Online stores have been listing it as out of stock (and I assume it's OOP, or will be re-printed later with one less match) and no stores around here seem to have copies. I found one single copy of it sitting next to a stack of unsold ONS 07 DVDs at a Best Buy in Michigan yesterday.
  25. And Cogeco once again does not receive a PYBO. Regarding the 750k streams on 24/7 Online, I usually have to roll with 300 anyway because it just looks too choppy (apparently I'm supposed to be using WMP 11 for the 750 videos, but the Genuine Advantage requirement is putting a stop on that program being installed... for now).
