  1. Steve Blackman vs Funaki - pre-taped Heat match airing before Fully Loaded 2000, Hardcore title on the line. *Blackman tosses a garbage can at Funaki, Funaki catches it, Blackman kicks it* Michael Hayes: Why did Funaki catch the garbage can? Kevin Kelly: (defensive answer I forget, followed by this line) "I'm just going to the garbage can hit me in the face! Good thinking Michael"
  2. Yeah, that's just it. Nintendo may take the time to remove Kawasaki references but I don't know if THQ would bother.
  3. I don't do ROMs (don't care for keyboard control or buying a controller just for roms) and you know it. As for the router... yeah, probably soon. I thought I had the adapter fixed today (making sure it was fully uninstalled before trying to reinstall it) but I keep getting "Internet Connection Error. (6)" or something similar. As for Officer Davis, we all know Officer Karen is hot but Davis is my favourite character from a comedy perspective. You know it's funny, I bought the original Metroid Prime years ago as a Player's Choice title and then never played it. I rented it once in 2002 and played it but for some reason never tried it again. Maybe I just might boot it up sometime soon.
  4. I thought that Rey/RVD match on the ECW vs WWE show last summer was ok. Too bad RVD's gone now. Unrelated to anything, I remember back in 2005 with the build to the Raw vs SmackDown match at Survivor Series, people were saying it made no sense for recent trades like Orton to be so loyal to a brand they just moved to. Having myself been moved from one work site to another site under the same corporate umbrella, I can honestly say we do have a "site vs site" mentality at times and I've totally become loyal to my co-workers here in just 2 months, so it's not that unrealistic, I guess. Not a major point or anything, just something to think about. Also, I had non-fan friends suddenly asking about wrestling and Vince's son the other day. Don't know if that core sample filters over to anyone else though.
  5. Merge em all and let Mole sort em out.
  6. While it is an obvious heel trap, there is SOME face logic to it, especially if it is a title match. The good guys are well aware that heel managers and allies will run in and break up sure pinfalls or submissions so a title can be retained by a DQ finish, attacking them first prevents them from getting away with that plan (unless a vengeful Mr. Perfect is the special guest referee). Unfortunatley, like you said, it allows the heel to set up some other dastardly scheme.
  7. Doubtful. I'm just talking out of my ass here but it's based on things I've heard over the years so I assume it's fairly close to the truth... THQ can release a WWE game now and use anyone on the roster they want. All of those people have signed a contract allowing their likeness to be merchandised for profit and I would hope they get royalties too. This is why Low Ki is known as Senshi in TNA - he didn't want to sign his likeness over. If THQ re-released a game they made a decade ago with a decade old licensing agreement with an out of business company, your DDP's, Randy Savage's, and Bill Goldberg's (just to name three) might have issue with their likeness being used. I suppose they could just give EVERYONE a fake name and simple colour swaps but I don't see it.
  8. I'll only be happy if I can use my Cube controller and make it control exactly the same as Prime 2 and take no advantage of the Wii controls. Also, I'd be more hyped if my WiFi adapter didn't crap out and I was able to play Metroid and Super Metroid all week.
  9. Sayeth the serf whom adorned his speakers corner persona with a photographically generated still image of himself and the murderous cretin for a forthnight - with a notice of rights to copy and distribute, no less! In other news, got the word I won't be watching this on PPV. First SummerSlam I'm missing live in 8 years.
  10. Who the hell picks up buffet food with their hands? Those people should be slapped.
  11. Yeah I just watched the Predator one the other day and meant to recommend it. Good stuff.
  12. Either way he retracted the story based on the post I sent him from here.
  13. I love it when wrestlers walk slowly towards their opponent with their arms raised very high in the air in an axe handle position. Yeah, THAT's gonna be a good attack on your opponent, leaving yourself completely open for attack.
  14. So I decided to re-watch MNW and FF to the Piper part I was sleeping during... without exaggeration, this is probably one of the worst, if not THE worst segment I have ever seen in the year history of me watching the Monday Night Wars on 24/7. Some guy fighting Piper in boxing gloves? What the hell? Also, was that one guy Luther "Horshu" Reigns?
  15. I'm pretty sure I've never seen that segment either (outside of the clips for it on the ECW DVD), either because I missed that Raw or TSN was still trying to find 2 hours for the show. I recall seeing a lot of cut for time Raws in Canada.
  16. Just when I thought you were all running the olde tyme speak into the ground, I read one of the funniest posts in this whole thing. Bravo, Blade2kxx.
  17. Yeah I seemed to recall hearing that Raw did a horrible number. I'm looking forward to the upcoming Raw debut of RVD despite having that match on two different DVDs. Does anyone know off-hand when that was before I go looking it up? How about the Sabu vs Flash Funk match where Heyman keeps talking about WCW and Eric Bischoff being unoriginal?
  18. I assume that's the angle, but I was asleep. I read about the Piper thing in a comment to SKeith's MNW (Raw version) review.
  19. How bout them O's last night, Marv?
  20. I just heard a radio ad for the SummerSlam Games where they say Triple H is making his return to "cross swords" with King Booker to regain his kingdom. Good stuff.
  21. That was a hell of a match I didn't see it when it first aired so it was great to finally see it. It needs to somehow find it's way onto a WWE DVD (maybe if they made a Bulldog one). I fell asleep during Nitro but apparently I missed Piper wrestling jobbers and John Tenta.
  22. A bit late but regarding the Bulldog/Owen and Clarence Mason questions, 24/7 has an episode of Raw up that shows a clip from Shotgun Saturday night (which would have aired March 1, 1997) where Crush beats Bulldog due to outside shennanigans. Bulldog then fires Mason after the match.
  23. Hey "The Terminator" is on USA this Friday. Oh man, mosaic-ing Dreamer hitting D-Von with a pan then doing the same thing to Sandman drinking beer and hitting himself with the can was classic.
  24. Someone sent this to Meltzer: "On the three-set SummerSlam DVD (covering 2004-2006), all Chris Benoit matches have been removed, including the Benoit vs. Orton main event in 2004. Undertaker vs. JBL is now the listed main event." Misinformation?
