By SNME format standards, it isn't. It's the match everyone went to sleep during (like the last bits of SNL). Kinda pissed because the spoiler order said the Vince comedy segment was last but apparently it aired while I was bowling.

Straight up BAAAALLLLINNNNNNNNN Made my night. Also, "Half Man Half Amazing" is my old CAW name for announcers in SmackDown games.

GSN is showing a Wheel of Fortune marathon today. The odd thing is so far (one episode in) they're showing a Chuck Woolery hosted episode which is apparently really rare (this version was believed to be erased save for a few tapes).

I ate at a place in London called "Mandarin". Excellent. The Casino Windsor buffet here is pretty good too, lots of variety and it's all good (as opposed to the buffet standard of 'lots of food and it's all bad compared to what could be ordered as a meal off the menu')

The guy in your sig is being relegated to Xplosion duty with no plans on the horizon. That makes me sad.

Jimmy is pretty good, though. Seriously though, I find breakfast and Chinese buffets can be good. I love me some scrambled eggs with sausage and pepper, a regular staple of the Tropicana buffet in Atlantic City.

Macho Man's TNT antics are amusing. -

Porter pretty much hit the nail on why the nameplate thing is considered a cost cutting issue: If no one notices or cares that they are there, why pay for them to be made and engraved? It won't save them a lot of money, but some is better than one. That said, it is a bit silly. -
Hmm, you can kinda see part of the Cobra tattoo on Punk's left arm. I figured that and the Pepsi logo would be removed.

Without being able to watch the show, I can say Foley makes a similar statement on the MNW DVD (which I re-watched randomly recently, before someone bumped the 3 year old discussion thread in the WWE folder which I found kind of funny) about feeling Nitro should have beat Raw (though I also think he says he felt they made Golbderg look too foolish). While I'm sure there was SOME level of personal attack on Foley, I'm almost certain Tony would have been directed to give away any taped world title change. And yes, if an unproven main eventer like Shamrock was given the title, a snide remark would still have been made. -

I feel the need to mention this anytime I watch SummerSlam 97: - The opening video package, "If life were fair...", is several kinds of awesome. - Sunny looks super hot in her silly segment with Todd Pettengill. -

spman told me D`Lo came out to his Real Deal theme song. I would have popped so loud for that. -

Wow, that Raw sure had a lot of non-conclusive finshes. Still some fun nostalgia, though, and the missed a WWF mute. I liked the sign "The Man Vince Jobs Vader". Also, Sting's helicopter entrance in that shortie is pretty cool but seems like a big waste of money for such a crappy match with no finish. -

Funk/Candido was a nice wrestlecrap treat. -
Saw it last night, thought it was pretty good. Enjoyed the "gafilkafish" (sp?) callback.

I have everything (and it all arrived quickly) except the Legends show, which I had no idea was even coming out. But Cogeco here never has those in first run (on top of not having recent PPVs or PYBOs in the Big Ones section). Maybe I should send of a letter to the BBB. -

I watched Flair vs JYD today (taking full advantage of being able to not pay attention since I have a digital box in my computer room now). Barry Windham looked very SCSA-ish during his run in with the black boots, tights, and leather vest. Also, the big drawing of Flair they put on screen before the match rocked it. -
So I was reading how the Subspace Emissary will "feature full motion video and storylines along with numerous side scrolling levels. The Adventure mode also emphasizes character development, characters persevering under the weight of their personal histories". That sounds pretty damn cool. Nameless Pokemon Trainer probably has one hell of a personal history. "Subspace" also makes me think of Super Mario 2. Hopefully that subspace actually makes an appearance.

Where has my old neighbour Petey Williams been these days? It was kind of funny, on WO.com Dave made a note they needed a new TNA Impact zone reporter because Alan Wojack was banned from bringing his laptop so he's boycotting and not going back. Frankly I don't see why Mr. Wojack wouldn't just roll old school and make notes (would any of you actually carry your laptop and type away on it during a wrestling event / sports game / movie?) but I'm not sure what rule he violated that - after writing these spoilers for MONTHS (years?) for WO someone says "hey, stop bringing that".

"Hey, you a gonna rhyme? Is this a the Seaseme Street? Where is a the Cookie Monster?" Quick question I thought of last night then forgot: Was Armando with the roster around the ring (hard camera side around Duggan) or was that someone in the audience with a hat and sunglasses? Sometimes he appeared far enough in the background to be in the front row, but sometimes it looked like he was right next to Duggan. Maybe he was just a guy there with Fake Konnan. Damn scaling illusions. -
Yeah, we left the movie wondering how the movie managed to attract that cast and have nude scenes to boot. It was almost as if they had planned this to be some big summer vampire movie then had their funding cut. They didn't even bother cleaning up Lucy's reflection on glass doors in post.

I think I said this in that "Best Movie of 2007 (so far)" thread when I ranked all the movies I had seen that, unfortunatley, I did see Rise: Blood Hunter. I kept complaining to the group I had never heard of the film but they insisted there were commercials, plus we were late for Knocked Up (the movie we were supposed to see). I'm fairly certain the driver was late on purpose so we had no choice in the matter (and it was his girlfriend that wanted to see it instead of Knocked Up) but he blamed his brother for not saving his game fast enough. Whatever, it's all of their fault.

I don't remember a lick of wrestling from this show (I fell asleep before the main event, was a bit tired) but man was it entertaining TV. The comedy ball was rolling with Cole and JBL ("this would be timely... if it were WrestleMania 1") and never stopped. Boogeyman singing was great and I actually like this Vince angle. I LOVED the touch of having The Fink intro Volkoff's singing. Also, they need to seriously consider making the SNME video wall set the permenant Raw set. -
The argument in the Double Dragon review is great stuff.

WWE General Discussion for August 2007

I find it odd that WWE announced the release of a guy no one had heard of but not Shantelle. I'm not doubting it completely, but I am skeptical until someone else confirms it (see: Some website - possibly PWI - announcing Beth Phoenix's untrue release).
