  1. People weren't exactly crazy about the Xbox 360 moniker, either (as best I can recall... maybe it was just me). As long as it plays good games, they could call it Wazoo 64 for all I care (though an awesome name would be nice...).
  2. Nothing to do with Season 2 or last night's episode, but something I snapped when watching season 1. I like the prop text that they wrote in.
  3. I thought Xbox 360 was an awful name when it was announced (partially because I didn't like the "let's play catch up with Sony in our numbering scheme" ploy, but mostly I thought it was stupid). However, as launch time grew nearer, it just became a common thing to say and eventually I came to like the name. Will the same thing happen with "We"? Unlikely for the majority, but strangers things have happened.
  4. I liked the interplay of Angela telling Dwight she's not taking ANY medication right now. Good stuff all around, Earl was good too.
  5. Well Nintendo is pushing "Wii" as a simple word without a language barrier, and that sounds neat so run with it. Most people will probably just call it "the Nintendo" anyway, and when you consider the fact they are pushing the fact you can download Nintendo (as in NES) games for the system, you have to wonder if that's some sort of master plan they have in the back of their minds. "Give the system a name people in America won't like so they refer to it as "The Nintendo" like it's the 80s". Probably not...
  6. I have some less than classic taste when it comes to movies, so please excuse that list does not reference Godfather, Citizen Kane, etc. I don't know if I could really come up with "all time definitive favourites" either, but without doing a lot of soul searching or checking my memory for movie data, I'll see what I come up with... 1. Well from what I'm hearing, probably something from FFVII: Advent Children. Since I haven't seen that, I'll go with Kung Fu Hustle / Shaolin Soccer (no specific fight that I can remember, but I recall loving these films). The fight scene in Ong Bak where the main character is in fight after fight, ending with a battle where the last guy smashes the room up is pretty great. Oh, and big props to the final boss battle in Iron Monkey (90s version) with the flaming logs. 2. "Yes, it's true your honour. This man has no dick" - Doctor Peter Venkman responding to the mayor's question "Is this true?" after Walter Peck had been called dickless (the mayor was of course asking about something else). 3. If Jennifer Love Hewitt had shown her boobs (and not just worn a very revealing semi-see through robe) in "I Still Know", that would have to be it considering the crush I had on her in the 90s. I don't really have a favourite, but from the video clip / screenshots I've seen, topless Jennifer Connely on the beach in "The Hot Spot" is super. 4. Star Wars series (the real ones). Obviously I love Ghostbusters. I loved the Batman series (even Forever, but not B&R) and love "Begins". The big oddity on my "movies I can repeatedly watch because I love" would have to be Short Circuit 2. 5. Ghostbusters is one of the first movies I can remember seeing, which is probably why it's my favourite movie (it's clearly not the best movie ever). Stay Puft was an iconic character in my childhood, although the cartoon spin off obviously helped these characters stay infused in my memory forever. Also, when I was 8, I was really moved by Ben's desire to get Johnny 5 back online after he used the last of his battery power to stop Oscar.

    You win the internet
  8. So what's all this talk I'm hearing over IRC about the Revolution's official name being "Wii" (pronounced "We").
  9. I believe it was in reference to 1996, when it was cool.
  10. This was me on IRC at the time of the penalty call: <DrVenkman> This powerplay would bother me if Carolina hadn't been so awful on them tonight. <DrVenkman> That said, just to piss me off, they'll probably win with this. *shakes fist* Oh well, Habs are still up.
  11. Hmm, I guess Carolina actually has more shots than Montreal, but the way Carolina has been playing their powerplays it just seems like they haven't been playing well. I love OT because it's exciting, but damn, when it's important, it can be too much... Also, way to remind me about 1996, CBC. I was sure Montreal was going to win after going up 2-0 on the road, but they went and lost the next four games. Cost me a $10 bet! However, that play-off series was immediatley what I thought of when Montreal went up 2-0 on Monday, and I hope it doesn't repeat.
  12. Carolina totally does not deserve to win this. Ward has been great, but they got, what, two shots during a four minute powerplay? They allowed a 3 on 1 rush against them on their first powerplay? Montreal has outplayed them, and Ward is the only reason this game isn't 6-1 like game one.
  13. Damn... Ward is not letting anything in and the game is tied 1-1. I was hoping Montreal would just keep everything out and not have to worry about solving the Ward puzzle.
  14. I always thought tne NHB name was better. It makes it more clear this folder isn't (totally) about discussing pornography.
  15. Can't go wrong with Dr. Sbiatso.
  16. Someone here STILL types "WWE" (going to say... Marvinisalunatic). Get over it, dude. Anyway, reading an Observer post ONS 2005, it was interesting that Meltzer referred to ECW being like the nWo in WCW (meaning while the group was just part of the base company, it made the base company look unhip and uncool). I know I'm not the first to say this, but the bottom line might come down to an authenticly run ECW making WWE look bad, ending the project / toning it down. Things that can make money vs. Things that egos say should make money is a war where the biggest casualty may end up being the fans.
  17. Wow that awesome, I thought Montreal was going to make it 2-0.

So I saw this videon on youtube where Eddie was wrestling JBL in the Vengeance 2005 arena. That's some crazy game hack skills.
  19. I was so happy to see that goal. This has been an exciting game, and I'm glad it's in Montreal now (I enjoy the home crowd cheers for the team I'm rooting for).
  20. I'll see what I can do about the book MB. As a bandwagon jumper I would not be upset to see the Wings win, but with 4 Canadian teams in the thing, if the Habs can't win it all, I would like one of the other three to take it. In other words, though I live in the Detroit sports market, it would not upset me to see Edmonton beat them.
  21. Fair enough. I never really considered that people like Storm, if brought in for this show, might be persuaded to sign for the new ECW, but you make a great point. It would be nice if WWE's "ECW" contracts allowed for indy work (like the "announcer contracts") since it won't have it's own dedicated show at this time, but we shall see.
  22. Foley's latest blog entry mentions having the most important creative meeting of his life today. I'm assuming that's ECW based since Heyman is apparently at a meeting about that today.
  23. I would love to see Jericho and Storm have another match. The match they had last year was really good and only 7 minutes, so double their time and see what can happen. The impression I got from Storm's ROH shoot is he would do the show if he was booked in a match he thought was of worth, but who knows where Jericho stands on ONS II.
