  1. Hey, that is good news. She is a good worker from what I've seen of her, and her style fits WWE's perfectly (I don't mean that in a negative way at all either). I know what you mean and agree completely. She's very similar to a Trish in that she can hit highspots and has some basic mat skills as well, but its't so great that she would be "ruined" by having to work a WWE style. They might have to make her get bigger breasts, though (I'm not saying _I_ agree with that, but that's how things work in the E).
  2. Yes. I find myself constantly referencing at work and have also made a point to not pronounce the t on the word "report" anymore. Discuss.
  3. I was happy to read in the very last line of the Observer that Shantelle Taylor was signed to a developmental deal.
  4. The Fox affiliate here (and by here, I mean across the river in another country) stopped showing it around 2000/2001 (dropped it from its after midnight syndicated comedy block, along with NewsRadio) and we don't get FX in Canada, so this is the first time in years the show has been on in my area. Sometimes a channel called CFMT (now OMNI 1) shows it, but it hasn't since the late 90s (maybe another early 00s run).
  5. "Antonio Inoki met with Saddam Hussein for the release of prisoners from Iraq before the Gulf War. As is the traditional gift for a visiting head-of-state, Saddam gave Inoki a pair of golden swords". Is Simon following in his father's (in-law? I seem to recall hearing Simon took the Inoki name when he married someone instead of vice-versa) footsteps and coming to negotiate the release of prisoners of the WWE?
  6. Link was still there for me. All it said was "more details to follow". I suspect this is about Yukes or something.
  7. Yeah I checked today and they changed it on the listings. They put up a very generic description (which states one team has The Road Warriors and the other team has Road Warrior Hawk) and just put "WCW" instead of a show name. Good stuff, though.
  8. Yeah, but it was released right before WWF had to switch to WWE, so it was kind of fucked and couldn't sell it as long. You're wrong. It came out after the name switch. This comment has already been explained and defended twice by two people (myself and S_D) but hey, why not a 3rd time? The DVD came out a mere 3-4 months after the switch to WWE. As such, they were allowed to release videos that didn't blur logos (this woud effect Hogan's 2002 return) or mute the intials "WWF" (this effects everything else). By 2003, just 4 months after the DVDs release, everything had to be blurred and muted.
  9. Yeah, but it was released right before WWF had to switch to WWE, so it was kind of fucked and couldn't sell it as long. I don't think so. It came out in August 2002 and thus was under the WWE banner, but at that point they were still allowed to say the initials "WWF" and show clips from Hogan's 2002 return wthout blurring everything. Once they could no longer get away with that, that was it for that DVD.
  10. Another winner. This show is so good.
  11. WWE.com also lists two more now: The American Dream: The Dusty Rhodes Story (2-disc) The World's Greatest Wrestling Managers Where is Flair II in all of this? I would also enjoy it of the Pillman/Liger match from Superbrawl II made it's way to DVD.
  12. http://img325.imageshack.us/img325/1121/marioandluigi9zm.jpg Found these in a hidden jar under a sink today. Any idea where they are from (they are too good to be from McDonalds)?
  13. WWE 24/7 Online features an eclectic mix of matches in February, uncovering several hidden gems that few have seen before. Matches from the England-only pay-per-view Rebellion and the Australia-only pay-per-view Global Warning are now available for all to see. Also, check out one of Hulk Hogan’s earliest matches from the AWA, Goldberg’s debut in WCW and one of The Rock’s earliest RAW matches. Don’t miss all of this and much more this month on WWE 24/7 Online. WWE Raw - Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Bastion Booger January 10, 1994 | Approx. run time: 4 mins. Bam Bam Bigelow was one of the most agile big men in WWE history. Bastion Booger was…well…one of the grossest big men in WWE history. Who would come out on top of this hard-hitting contest? WCW Starrcade - Ric Flair vs. Dusty Rhodes November 22, 1984 | Approx. run time: 18 mins. Ric Flair has had several legendary rivalries over the years, but few can match up to his rivalry with Dusty Rhodes. It was the limousine riding, jet-flying, kiss-stealing son of a gun against The American Dream. This was just the second Starrcade ever, and boxing great Joe Frazier was a special referee. Could Dusty overcome Flair for the title? WCW - War Games Match July 23, 1989 | Approx. run time: 26 mins. Watch The Road Warriors, The Midnight Express and Steve Williams take on The Samoan Swat Team, Road Warrior Hawk and The Freebirds in a War Games Match WWE RAW - Howard Finkel vs. Harvey Whippleman -Tuxedo Match January 9, 1995 | Approx. run time: 4 mins. This will certainly go down as one of the most unique matches in RAW history. Howard Finkel is known for announcing the competitors in each match, but in this one, he becomes a competitor. Howard was having a hard time with manager Harvey Whippleman at the time, so they decided to solve things like men…in a Tuxedo Match. WWE RAW - King Kong Bundy vs. Mabel January 30, 1995 | Approx. run time: 6 mins. Where’s the beef? In the ring on RAW, of course. The walking condominium King Kong Bundy takes on Mabel, who is now known as Viscera. It’s the irresistible force vs. the immovable object. Who would come out on top of this battle of behemoths? WWE RAW - Rocky Maivia vs. The British Bulldog January 13, 1997 | Approx. run time: 11 mins. Check out one of The Rock’s early matches on RAW. Just a couple of months after his debut, a red-hot Rock took on the late, great British Bulldog. Could The Rock keep riding his momentum or would the veteran put him in his place? WWE SmackDown - Rock & Hogan vs. Storm & Christian July 25, 2002 | Approx. run time: 11 mins. The Rock and Hulk Hogan have had some classic confrontations, but on this edition of SmackDown they were partners, taking on the World Tag Team Champions. Goldberg had one of the most impressive winning streaks in WCW history. It seemed like no one could stop him. This was the match that got the streak started. He took on Hugh Morrus in this historic match. Check out how the streak was started. WCW Starrcade - Bret Hart vs. Goldberg December 19, 1999 | Approx. run time: 13 mins. This Goldberg match is another historic one, but for much different reasons than his debut. Bret Hart was defending his WCW Championship at Starrcade against “The Man.” But this one will be remembered most for the kick heard ‘round the world. This is the match that resulted in the early retirement of Bret Hart. Thanks to a brutal kick to the head, the Hit Man was forced to retire due to complications from concussions that were a result of the kick. Don’t miss one of Bret Hart’s final matches. WWE WrestleMania XV - Bart Gunn vs. Butterbean March 18, 1999 | Approx. run time: 6 mins. This was the infamous ending to the Brawl 4 All contest. The Brawl 4 All was a boxing competition among WWE Superstars. Bart Gunn shocked everyone by knocking out opponent after opponent and winning the contest. He tried to take another step farther by facing Butterbean at WrestleMania XV. Butterbean, however, had other things on his mind. WWE Rebellion - Billy Kidman & Torrie Wilson vs. John Cena & Dawn Marie October 26, 2002 | Approx. run time: 8 mins. WWE 24/7 Online has uncovered another hidden jewel. WWE Superstars - Honky Tonk Man music video November 7, 1987 | Approx. run time: 2 mins. Love him or hate him, The Honky Tonk Man knew how to entertain a crowd. WWE In Your House - Razor Ramon vs. 1-2-3 Kid February 18, 1996 | Approx. run time: 17 mins. Razor Ramon and the 1-2-3 Kid were the best of friends, but they were also the worst of enemies at times. These two would later go on to become members of the nWo, but they squared off in a rare Crybaby Match at In Your House. The loser was forced to wear a diaper. Would the Bad guy be the Bad Baby, or would the Kid be sucking on a bottle? WWE No Way Out - Brock Lesnar vs. Eddie Guerrero February 15, 2004 | Approx. run time: 36 mins. This was Eddie Guerrero’s crowning achievement. Eddie was overpowered the entire match, but Latino Heat’s heart and desire would not be denied. Eddie Guerrero realized his life-long dream and became WWE Champion when he defied the odds and overcame the monster, Brock Lesnar.
  14. Well consider my Fantasy money wasted this week. Have Helms not appear on TV on either show this week and I'll really have mad bad purchases.
  15. Now I hear Lawler making weird noises but my video feed is frozen at a still of the Royal Rumble. Is this normal fare for Unlimited?
  16. So I decide to try and watch Raw on the TV near my computer and Unlimited doesn't even have audio... super. Oh there it is.
  17. Shaq is in the Rumble now I think. "Last night at the AmericanAirlines Arena, RAW Superstar Carlito verbally abused Jason Williams after the Miami Heat suffered a disappointing 107-98 loss to the Phoenix Suns. While the cocky Superstar was berating Williams, Shaquille O'Neal walked up behind Carlito and smashed him with a chair. WWE.com has retrieved footage of the incident and will post the video later today."
  18. Thank God someone came to their senses and realized doing drawings on WWE.com (especially if they revealed the numbers) was a terrible idea. It's also good they are showing some drawings on PPV. Last year's segments were pretty good.
  19. Not anytime soon, seeing as how there is a new publishing URL that I don't know. Speaking of old columns, you know what I always liked, never had a chance to be a part of, and would be worth bringing back now that we have a stable of writers again? The Crossface.
  20. Snitskymark, Scherer's operatives are about to track your IP and cancel your account... unless you just took this from somewhere else. Ask spman, he can tell you all about their copyright news policy.
  21. I hope Benoit lasts all the way from 1 to 30 again this year. They kinda disregarded it when it happened last year but it was cool to see.
  22. Should be fun.
  23. Guess it was just a non-title match, which makes sense since Booker is cleared to go I guess. Typical Rumble cards are four matches of varying quality, and since four matches have already been announced, I think we're stuck with them. Cena/Edge might be a good title match and I think Angle might carry Henry to something watchable, but this undercard is straight out of a 90s Rumble. The flip side of that is this is the first time since 1992 (my first Rumble, when I didn't quite realize that Ric Flair was winning) I have no idea who is winning the Rumble, and I'm happy about that. I guess most of this comment is more suited for the Rumble thread though.
  24. Benoit and Angle winning specialty matches = good times for The Real Ghostbusters (WWE Fantasy team). I guess I'll need to re-read the SD! preview but I had thought Orton/Benoit was for the US title.
  25. I love the fact that something I wrote 3 years ago and is buried under years of articles actually has a lot of hits AND four votes. I may not have known it at the time, but making fun of those crappy sites that used to / possibly still do things like ***TORRIE PLAYBOY PICTURE CLICK HERE*** sure worked in my favour.
