I thought the psudo-outdoor look of WMXIX was super. Off topic, but kinda on topic, the last time I watched the show it sounded like I could hear a train during some of the matches. I beleive someone I spoke with on IRC explained that whole deal to me but it's kinda weird to hear during a wrestling match.

"Forbes" Field (in reality Ford but you're now the 2nd person I've seen call it that in a week, the first being Meltzer) also has a roof and I suspect it will be closed. I'm not even sure that it opens (I don't think it does, I've only been there once and it did not appear retractable... people who watch football o na regular basis might know better though).

We're basically at a stage where more often than not, the title will be defended against the same opponent for a few PPVs. IF they go Batista/JBL right to Batista/Orton, what do they do next? This way they're spacing themselves out. This isn't necessarily a good thing for the fans, but it probably helps them. After SummerSlam they have two months to make a new challenger that probably won't win (let's say Batista/Eddie at No Mercy) then they can do Batista/Orton at the bigger Survivor Series PPV. If they og the same way they did last year, they can do Batista/Eddie/Orton/JBL at Amrageddon, then they build to whoever his WM opponent will be (and if Lesnar isn't back, it might actually be built towards Orton anyway). This is, of course, assuming Batista keeps winning.

Bret Hart came out on Raw the night after Canadian Stampede in an interview segment that announced 3 matches for Summerslam. Bret mentioned that "in the SummerSlam" (as was his way of speaking), he would take the title from Undertaker and that was pretty much it. I don't think it was ever really explained but heaivly implied that the Hart Foundation's victory the night before allowed this title match.

After a really good run through most of round 1, better than Character Battle's I - III's opening rounds, picking Square characters in CB IV is kicking my ass in the winding down of the opening round.

I'm down with this news.

The game got average (5.5-6.0 range) reviews in EGM... I forget the scores as I was just skimming. Anyway, If I buy this, am I going to be totally screwed by a Gems Collection+ that will have a better menu layout and a few extra games coming out for the Xbox and PS2?

On one hand I would like to lend my voice to this project. Afterall, look at what I was once called "Formerly of 411, Stephen's "Shades of Gray" column is one of the most entertaining reads on the web. He doesn't hold back as he voices his opinion on the current state of wrestling" For the life of me I have no idea who (well, I kinda do) came to that conclusion or why, but I love reading it. On the other hand, I have nothing to say.

When I worked 12 hour midnight shifts in 2003 I used to call the ESRB hotline to pass the time to listen to their vilarious readings for rating descriptors. The reading for "violence" was the funniest. Sadly they ended that service.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The context was Meltzer was discussing Rock's movie roles, mentioning how people at the San-Di-Comi-Con or whatever it was popped for / enjoyed the Doom trailer but that the movie is expected to be trashed by video game players for its not from the game plot.

According to the latest WON, the 'Doom' movie is not about a gateway to Hell on Mars but actually about a virus that turns people into monsters. The hell?

I'm one of what, based on reveiws / a thread here, about 10 people who found Dukes of Hazzard to be hilarious. My friend reccomended I see it but I told him many reviews in paper, forums, and by morning radio DJs were bad. He insisted it was funny with good car stunts with "good references for fans of the show". Having lost all memory save the important stuff (read: The General) of that show from my childhood and never watching it when I was older, I'm not sure what he meant (assuming the "Freeze for narration" scenes, which I liked). In fact I would thinkg being a fan of the show would be a reason to HATE the movie, since the movie seemed to be more Stiffler and Jackass Ride the General Lee.

According to a recent Observer, at one point there was a plan that never left the drawing board for OJ Simpson vs Roddy Piper at WrestleMania XII. I guess that kinda explains the use of two year old OJ footage as a joke.
