I took the cheap way out this week and picked HBK/Masters/Edge/Hardy since all 4 are in Specialty Matches, albeit against each other. That should get good appearance/match/specialty match points. I kept Carlito and Angle too. I only have Kennedy and Benoit for SmackDown! this week. Next week I'll probably go big on SD! since 3 matches are already known.

Work? Shoot? What's your opinion?

I know anyone can submit anything to IMDB and if it sounds reasonably true to them they will put it in a title's info, but I would like some clarification on this issue: "The age old 'Mike Bison' rumor has actually snowballed into something of a misunderstanding over time. In the original Street Fighter release a Boxer character named 'Mike' would be encountered toward the end of the game, he has since been officially identified as a once-off character having nothing to do with the Shadolwloo boss character Balrog of the second installment in the series; Street Fighter II. Due to an infamous translation/porting problem in some of the first releases of SF2 to the west, some of the Boss characters names had been changed around (as mentioned above) this incurred push for a lawsuit from Mike Tyson's legal council at the time. However it was only due to the assumption that Balrog's 'M. Bison' moniker was referencing the previous 'Mike' character, and therefore an illegal use of his name/likeness. The lawsuit never happened as there wasn't enough premise for it in first, with Capcom having never used his name and only ever sighting the real life Boxer as an obvious inspiration for the 'Mike' & 'Balrog' characters. Vega was always intended to be a Mediterranean name for a Mediterranean fighter. Bison's 'M' has been identified as 'Major' or 'Master' depending on where you look, pending his self appointed leadership and military garb." I always believed the Mike Bison thing.

MisawaGQ is making a humourus comment about elitism in society, wildpegasus. Balrog = Vega as far as the original (and therefore true) SF is concerned.

That's awesome, but with Joy and Jindrak and Haas and others being in the game, I assume Conway is still french and teaming with Grenier. Either way, about time Conway (and Grenier, to a lesser extent... hate the guy in the ring but his numerous tag title reigns kinda warratned a video game roster spot) made it in. Also, One Night Stand's venue being there is all kinds of awesome.

I thought KI2's (or at least Gold, assume it existed in the arcade version) concept on how to execute finishing moves was pretty cool. I also thought the way rounds were structured was a great idea. Has anyone ever seen or played this? I love pinball and pinball tie-ins, so I would love to play this, but good lord that's an awful rendition of Chun-Li.

The music in Cinder's stage in Killer Instinct is awesome. Also, in 1995 (I don't know about now since I haven't seen the game since then), the animation used for Cinder's character model, moves, and level fatality were awesome. It's truely a shame that could not carry over to the SNES and the version of KI that came out for the "Ultra 64" (as the arcade machine kept telling me... and yes, I'm aware of the story there) did not retcon him into its version of KI2.

The "You're Fired" match was not ruled a specialty.

Hogan did eventually job to HHH but it was on SmackDown without any build and I'm sure no one remembers. That does sound like a question for HTQ to answer, though.

I was hoping the mock was some "tweener" run for HBK where he's still an ass, not just his way of 'breaking the script' or however you would like to define it. So, assuming this is the 1 out of 10 Torch gets right, I guess he'll be 100% good guy HBK next week. Oh well.

That is still an awful lot of crap that I either already own or don't care to own. However, "Undertaker roughs up Warrior" from Superstars got my attention, and if the ONO match is as good as Bret Hart was saying on Off the Record (when he complained about being "left of the box", apparently unaware he was left off the tape, too) it might be worth checking out. I enjoy the Rumble 94 match for crap value, too, and my only access to that is via Jukebox, so this DVD set is not entirely out of the question.

The few times I picked Cena without a match being known before hand, he only got a few sets of appearance points. Ditto for Batista. I decided to stop picking the champions unless a match was announced ahead of time.

Hold the phone, KHII got delayed too? That was supposed to be the "Damnit Zelda got delayed but hey at least I got this" game for me this fall. Hopefully if this is true (the SmackDown part), DoR 2 is good and keeps me occupied.

I'll consider my experiment a failure for this week. Dropping Hurricane/Maria for Flair sucked because I only got one set of appearance points for Flair, same I could have got for Maria, plus Hurricane has a match on Heat. Conway beat Hardy though, so that worked, but man, should have picked Cena. Also I don't think Conway's elbwo drop was considered a finisher (probably will be for next week, I haven't checked the page yet for my placement). At least I had Angle. Hopefully my SD! roster works out (LOD 2005/Benoit/Nunzio).

I think the idea is to discuss Jericho leaving (which I thought we already did), not discuss Raw.

Key word is "for now". Everything I've read leads me to believe Jericho is gone for the next 2 months but was intending to come back. We shall see.

I'm steadily rising the ranks... I'm like 10,000th-ish overall now (I used to be 88,000-ish) and now in the top 10 of the league. I hope my "9 cheap guys and 2 expensive ones" instead of "4-5 expensive guys and 2-3 cheap ones" pays off. Assuming Flair is in the $3m range (I'm going to check now) I might drop Hurricane for him as he may have a match with Carlito tonight.. he is at least appearing.

Last I heard (which was reading the WON issue IP copied this from) is WWE is having a tough time getting the rights from NJPW to use a Bret/Tiger Mask match.

Cena, Batista, and HBK have not been wreslting regularly on TV at all since this season started (Cena only recently and HBK not at all since superkicking Hogan). I replaced Antonio with Nunzio on the assumption that he's going to get title retian points on Velocity doing the "Vito kills the guy then Nunzio pins him" angle for a bit but we'll see. Like I said, I'm taking a chance this week.
