  1. Way too much time on your hands. For the record I didn't type that, It was sent to me in an email and I just copied and pasted it. Invader3K is a Pixies fan? I bet political discussion with your friends is loads of fun
  2. Like this one?

  4. I'll try to get more links for the fights tomorrow.
  5. Yeah they were actively pursuing it, but eventually Wesley Snipes turned it down. Wesley Snipes would have gotten his ass beat in that one. It would have been a fucking shanking and a half.
  6. Yeah I loved that ending too. Hansen is getting tagged for awhile than gets all Crocodile Dundee on Azerado. "You call that a kick? *Bang* That's a kick!"
  7. Czech what are you quoting?
  8. Also during Hughes/Trigg II as he is about to slam him: Goldberg - "And heeeere weeee go!" Rogan during BJ Penn/Hughes: "Oh, he's got the choke! HE'S GOT THE CHOKE! HE'S TAPPING!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!" At the same time, Goldberg: "WE HAVE-- A NEW WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION!" Too bad that didn't last long though. During Carlos Newton/Anderson Silva: "*SMACK* Ohhh, he's out, he's out, hesout-hesout-hesout-hesout" Definitely one of the best KO's I've ever seen. And Quadros' shock tops it. It's almost like he's trying to tell the referee to get Silva off of Carlos.
  9. *checks where Cameron is from* Yeah, makes sense that you'd overestimate Weir's chances there
  10. It was still fun, but he's right. Still, Hansen is a great hybrid fighter. He's got skills and mixes them well, which is why you'd be hard pressed to see him choke or get upset like GOmi was. He's also real good at using the uncoordinated striking to get to the clinch. If he fights someone with really good, straight boxing though, I expect to see him get knocked out while going for the clinch ala Trigg/Sakurai.
  11. On Wednesday of this week, at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00 in the morning, the time and date will be 01:02:03 04/05/06.
  12. Not really much room for discussion but still lots of interesting things can be said here. I'm thinking more like specific fights that are memorable and the announcer said the right thing to put it over the top. "Armbar, ARMBAR!" Pretty simple, but when Damon the Dog said that in Minotauro's fight against Cro Cop it was the perfect call, given how the match had gone earlier. Stephen Quadros after Fedor got hit with the haymaker from Fujita "OH MY GOD!" Again, simple, but given how nobody gave Fujita a chance and he literally made Fedor do the fishdance, this was fun. "What a gutsy performance by the champ!" My favourite one personally, right after Shamrock put away Tito Ortiz, really historic match with all the Lion's Den buildup from previous. Shamrock's swan song as a fighter.
  13. Oh man, I d/l Wolf Parade on the recommendation of someone else. It was not good at all. Definitely disapponting. I got rid of it. The strip clubs are fairly nice, but I don't find strip clubs that appealing anyway. I went to a local concert last night, really fucking bad too. I think I'm going to ignore anything artistic about this city. The worst part was the band onstage had these shit eating grins on their face, like they had a fucking vision and were gonna change the world but it was sooooo bad. They were called the Reformations, were two guys on acoustic guitar and one of them was a white guy with long ass dreads. Gross.

  15. I know Pitchfork is hip hop friendly, but that's a different story. Pitchfork almost wants to make up for years of ignoring hip hop by overrating anything that's come out afterwards. I stopped going to that site awhile ago. Maybe it's just the local scene, but Indie Montreal'ers dislike hip hop for the reasons that most do, which is kind of stupid.
  16. Well I don't know much about Sebadoh, but I was told that they were very influential in the Indie scene and that I should check out their stuff. Something that bothers me about most indie fans is their snobbish opinion towards rap music, like they discount it as a genre entirely. It really makes it hard for me to take their opinion on anything seriously, even though a lot of the indie rock that they like might be really good.
  17. This is true, although I haven't really heard any new indie in awhile. Most of the stuff I have is older and by bands that have since disbanded. All the newer material I hear is from a dormmate that does reviews and therefore gets them for free anyway. Have you heard of 12 Rods? Said friend swears by them, and from what I've heard I really like them as well.
  18. Well there are still a few of us that do buy records, but if it is: 1) more convenient 2) cheaper Why would I buy them?
  19. I haven't bought a record ever. Seriously. I think I bought some as a shitty gift for someone, but as far as my own stuff, never.
  20. Alright, thanks a lot guy.
  21. Okay, I don't have soulseek, is that a torrent site or P2P?
  22. You'd be surprised at how hard it is to find online. Most of the rap albums that are put up online are only the "Pop classics" from what I can tell, stuff like The Chronic, Ready To Die, etc.
  23. The Minowa loss is tricky. Losing in the UFC all those times can be offset by the fact that he beat Minowa, Chonan and Kondo, two of them in less than two minutes combined. Chonan was considered a top five MW after beating Silva, while Kondo was considered a top MW after dropping weight. Baroni didn't look so bad in his losses, he was stopped at the end by Sell after beating on him for two and a half rounds while he took Tanner to a decision and had him damn near out on his feet in both fights. He never looked all that bad in losing, while he has looked real good in winning recently. If it's a case of what have you done for me lately, Drago and Tanner lost pretty badly after their wins, while Baroni has only looked better and stronger, and not against cans either. I wouldn't put him above Tanner or Lindland, but I'd still put him on the list. If he beats Dan or Busta or even Minowa if they lock up again I don't think you could justify keeping him off.
  24. I would put him in the top ten after this win. Kondo was a guy many expected to be rejuvenated by a move down in weight. They expected him to become champ, as he lost a very controversial decision to the champ. And Baroni knocked him the fuck out, in less than a minute. That's serious, Phil is a long way removed from the losses to Tanner and Sell. Baroni is top ten for sure now, and at this point I might actually pick him against Hendo who looked bad against Misaki.
  25. Today I was looking for Aquemini and couldn't find it anywhere. I never thought that this was that obscure, but maybe I was wrong? Also more indie stuff, like I can't find Sebadoh anywhere. I recently got into that band when a friend of mine let me listen to some stuff, and am now trying to find some of my own. What are some good sites for more indie stuff when it comes to torrents, or lesser known rap albums?
