  1. Why would they cancel a match for recieving 'lack of interest', when they haven't even shown the build-up on T.V? This is all just instant reaction feuled from speculation. For all you know, this new character development for Bradshaw could be a blast. Well, sure. Hey, perhaps later, I'll discover that my piss has magically changed into liquid gold. It's possible!! Then again, we both know neither will happen. I don't think Bradshaw will ever receive enough crowd attention to SUPPORT a Heavyweight Title push. He never has before. Optimism is one thing. Blindness is another.
  2. Well, there are two roads this match could go. 1. The buildup for the match fails, and they decide to quickly blowoff the storyline on TV before scrambling to build something else. (i.e. The HHH/Bubba Ray Dudley feud scheduled for a title match at No Mercy 2002. Scratched for HHH/Kane.) 2. WWE ignores the opinion of the fans, and do their absolute best to push the match onto PPV despite the lack of interest it's receiving (i.e. Lesnar/Holly at Royal Rumble 2004 or HHH/Steiner at No Way Out 2003) I actually wouldn't be surprised if they put Eddie/Bradshaw at Judgment Day. They seem to be in the process of rewarding guys that have been in the company for a long time, and this would only continue the tradition. Plus, there's always the possibility that the title match will go in the middle of the card, and they'll save something like Taker/Angle for the Main Event. It's amazing that they have so many different matches they could go with for Judgment Day that are bound to be, at least, a little more successful. Eddie/Booker, Eddie/RVD, Eddie/Cena, Eddie/Taker, Eddie/Angle (if Angle's healthy enough for it)......even if Big Show decided to stay and they tried pushing Eddie/Show. But Eddie/Bradshaw has absolutely no upside, and I really don't see where they're going with this.
  3. Did we think Big Show was going to beat Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series 2002? I mean, the man had just lost to Jeff Hardy two months earlier! But all of a sudden, Brock got injured and we found ourselves with Show being champ for a month. DON'T assume this can't happen with Eddie.
  4. Dama, it was a JOKE. The line from "Foley is Good" was this: "A visit to 'Foley's Gym' confirmed this. Sure, I was benching somewhere around 430 (or quarter to five in the evening), but the results weren't all that impressive." He was talking about time when he made the joke. Not how much weight he could lift.
  5. Don't you see the problem here? YOU wouldn't pay to see this match. I wouldn't pay to see this match. I'm sure that there's a lot of people who, faced with a choice, would NOT pay $35 to watch this match. The fact that such an awful choice is being made for the Main Event could be crushing for the PPV as a whole. The point of Pay-Per-Views are to get buyrates and make profits. By putting on this low-caliber Main Event, Vince will be doing the opposite. He's actually hurting a Brand Extension PPV that needs as much public support as it can possibly get. Which is exactly the problem. Regardless of what PPV this is - lesser or not - putting this match out there is unacceptable. At least with the Royal Rumble, Lesnar/Holly was surrounded by the Royal Rumble match itself and the Last Man Standing battle. This Heavyweight Title match will be out there by itself, and it's practically designed to fail. Just a terrible business decision all-around.
  6. Well, thank God that RVD and Booker T were moved onto Smackdown. Someone needs to give Bradshaw credibility. ....Good God, do they actually think Bradshaw is gonna bring in buyrates?! Just what the hell is the logic here?!
  7. Oh God. Look up the word "sarcasm." Of course Hogan got a reaction as Mr. America! He was still getting one of the loudest pops on the entire Smackdown roster! You mind telling me what shows you were watching?
  8. Well, at least we won't continue the RVD/Booker T tag team. But this certainly doesn't sound like a push is being started for Van Dam. Which was all I wanted out of this trade.
  9. My only issue with Booker T being traded is that I HOPE they don't continue to give us this team of Booker T/RVD that absolutely nobody wants to see. Keep them as singles wrestlers. Turn one of them heel. Let them feud for a month. Then, go on. But I could just see them having a four month long feud with the Dudleys. I wasn't sure if it was possible, but I now dislike this lottery even more.
  10. I realize the obscurity of this question, and how it hardly correlates to the topic at hand, but I still feel obligated to ask it anyway.... What the hell WAS the rating? The article doesn't actually SAY it.
  11. Come on, 909. You KNOW you want to...... You can be one of the FrigginFrigidFollowers. An FFF. How could you turn down the possibility?
  12. If she comes back like this... I think I would welcome her back. I found her THE most attractive WWE woman around the 1999-2001 era. It was when she came back as the Smackdown GM that she seemed to become less attractive. In my case, I think it's the new gravelly voice she reappeared with. It sounds like she's been smoking cigarettes for 30 years. As for the weight issue, I don't think she got FAT around the midsection area or anything. Around most of her body, she's still at a normal size. Not as hot as she used to be, but people rarely are as they get older. However, the arms....yikes!
  13. Obviously not. But you'd have to insinuating him being a jobber to contemplate putting him at Announce. Because Lawler had a VASTLY successful career in WWE. You know....holding all those WWE titles and winning those huge blowoff feuds..... Meanwhile, Al Snow held his fair share of WWE titles with the Hardcore Title and Tag Team Titles Success is not a gauge on whether you can become an announcer or not. And iB, I would think you should show a little discretion next time before calling someone an idiot for having a suggestion. Those in glass houses....
  14. And he tried. He ran like a pussy from a guy that scared no one on earth for over three months. And dragged his feet on the blow-off match. One of the only things that actually meant something in the feud.
  15. According to Box Office Mojo, it had a Production Budget of $35 million and Marketing Costs of $10 million.
  16. 1. Scooby Doo 2 2. Dawn of the Dead 3. The Passion of the Christ 4. The Ladykillers 5. Jersey Girl I just see "Jersey Girl" being yet another big bomb. The promos are terrible, and there still remains somewhat of a Ben Affleck backlash. Kevin Smith movies are never all that popular at the Box Office anyway. I see Jersey Girl possibly getting as high as the #4 spot, but I don't think it will be much more than that.
  17. Because it's someone you can work with later and possibly have a real money-making program with. Ric Flair tried to do it when he was the champion. (Sting, Garvin, the list goes on) Shawn Michaels tried to do it when he was the champion. (Mick Foley sticks out in my mind) Bret Hart tried to do it when he was the champion. (Owen Hart, The Patriot.....he made Steve Austin, although he wasn't the champ when he did it) The Rock tried to do it when he was the champion. (Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho) The Heavyweight Champion is SUPPOSED to help out other wrestlers for the benefit of the entire company. Besides, Brock was still the youngest Main Eventer in the company. It was pretty much a guarantee that the future of WWE would be built around Brock. With his size, strength, technical skill, fan popularity, marketability, young age - there was no doubt he was who they would pretty much HAVE to build as the head of the company. I don't think you can be much safer than Brock's spot, unless you marry the owner's daughter. With that being said, I HIGHLY doubt his spot would ever be in danger from Hardcore Holly of ALL people. Regardless of Lesnar's personal feelings on the feud, he still has an obligation as the Heavyweight Champion to bring people like Holly up to his level. It could wind up helping WWE, and making Brock a richer man in the business he dislikes so much.
  18. Ugh, you people are COMPLETELY missing the point of Brock's complaints about having a feud with Hardcore Holly. We all know Holly is shit. None of us really wanted to see him in the Main Event. Regardless, Brock has an obligation - as the Heavyweight Champion - to try to bring Holly up to his level. He has an obligation to feud with whom WWE wants him to feud with. Bret Hart once fought against the likes of Hakushi and Jean-Pierre Lafayette. The Undertaker has had long feuds with Giant Gonzalez, Kamala, Kama Mustafa.....and more recently had Undisputed Title feuds with Tommy Dreamer and Jeff Hardy. Triple H feuded with Bubba Ray Dudley in 2002 in a program that WAS supposed to be a PPV title match, but failed because of the lack of crowd support. And shall we mention necrophilia? Shawn Michaels had a feud with the British Bulldog over an allegation that he raped Diana Hart. Stupid angle? Definitely. He still did it. The Big Show, upon winning the Heavyweight Title in 1999, had a PPV title match the next month with......the Big Bossman?!?! The list goes on and on. As a Heavyweight Champion - or even a Main Eventer - you need to help out the other guys in the company if asked. You need to attempt to bring them up to your level, even if you don't believe they should be there. Forget about the lack of skill Holly may show. It's still not Brock's job to decide who should be a Main Eventer and who shouldn't. We all complained when Triple H punked out RVD and Booker T in their feuds. He made them look as if they weren't on his level, when it shouldn't even had been his right to decide. What makes this Brock situation with Hardcore Holly ANY different?
  19. Sometimes he did. Sometimes he didn't. You can't tell me he didn't drag his feet terribly in that match at the Royal Rumble with Hardcore Holly. Nearly everyone else on the roster is working hurt. And why would you say he's been working with an injury for most of his time there.....? I don't remember hearing anything about any injury Brock has. Shawn has a torn ACL....Cena had a broken hand and strained ligaments....Show needs surgery......they all worked through their matches without bitching. I don't recall reading anything about any outstanding injury Brock has. But....hence, the bitching still comes. Sure! Well....except for the fact that he showed an unbelievable lack of effort in that match with Goldberg. Nothing that most of the roster doesn't do. And besides, it's something the Heavyweight Champion SHOULD do. Hell, he wants a longer title reign - he should expect stuff like this. I would say he owes SOMETHING to the company that completely made him what he is today.
  20. Well, of course. WWE is certainly not without fault here..... But it's ridiculous that people are letting Brock off the hook here. Yes, Vince has made mistakes with this roster. This is why he's in this situation right now. Doesn't change the fact that Brock is walking out of the company that MADE HIM just when they really NEED HIM.
  21. The No Mercy PPV's did well? I really didn't know that. It didn't do great ratings-wise. But it's still a Main Event caliber match. How many more Main Event type matches could you make using the guys on Smackdown? Presuming that Angle is gone with his injury, Show's taking time off for his surgery, and Edge is moving to Raw. Eddie/Taker? Eddie/Cena? Taker/Cena? ...... Seems to be about it. Brock was NEEDED on Smackdown.
  22. Exactly. Do you assholes ever get tired of bitching? You have the facts staring at you in the face! They gave him EVERYTHING. They handed him the Heavyweight Title FOUR months into his WWE career. He was at the top of the company in what has to be a record amount of time. They gave him everything so QUICKLY that he no longer had anything to work for, and he quickly became bored of the wrestling business. Plus, we have to mention the stories that have been told about his ego - you know, the ego that has become even more massive after reading some of this interviews. Yet, you still hold this belief that his career was handled just fine and us "assholes" should just stop "bitching." Use some fuckin logic!
  23. ......well, besides the fact he's screwing over a company that's invested so much into him, sorely needs him at this time, Oh, for the love of God, their big plans for Brock were "feed him to the Undertaker" That's not such a specific role that only Brock Lesnar could play and him stepping out has totally thrown that storyline for a loop. If they had planned something even somewhat important for him, I could see you saying that he was "sorely needed". But if they weren't gonna do anything with him anyway, so his leaving isn't ducking out when he's "sorely needed" WWE is struggling for wrestlers right now. Goldberg was already leaving. Rock was only staying for approximately three weeks. Triple H is going off to do movies. Kurt Angle's neck was bound to fail again, and Vince probably knew that. Foley's not a full-time wrestler. Shawn Michaels has a torn ACL. Big Show wanted to take time off to get surgery and heal certain body parts. All these guys are leaving, or WILL be leaving WWE, for a relatively long period of time - some of them perhaps even ending a WWE career. WWE is struggling to keep Main Eventers. This is why they're trying to build them right now. The effort IS being made with Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, John Cena, Randy Orton..... But that's not enough. They had a marquee Pay-Per-View feud with the Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar. Something that would at least be safe for some PPV buys from the Smackdown public. A match that has two Main Eventers on a brand that was struggling for those big matches. And Brock left. Face the facts. He ditched a company that needed him at this time. All these injuries and breaks are piling up at a terrible time. Brock needed to fill in some holes in the company.....and he left. If he wants to pursue a career in the NFL, fine. But he should have waited until some of these guys came back, and WWE could get somewhat back on their feet with the Main Event scene. Yet.....AGAIN......he left. Call him what you want. I call him an asshole.
  24. ......well, besides the fact he's screwing over a company that's invested so much into him, sorely needs him at this time, and has made him a star to wrestling fans all over the world.
  25. So.......who will now be the first person to enter this thread and STILL defend the idea that Brock wasn't pushed too hard too fast? He had nothing to work for - besides you know, the love of the sport and all - and was handed the Heavyweight title on a silver platter despite his total inexperience and lack of overness at the time. But no, of course he wasn't pushed too quickly......
