There *is* such a thing as making a game *too* complex... with the ever-rising success of the AND 1 Mix Tape Tour (they should make a sequel to Street Hoops, which was one of the hardest and unforgiving basketball games I have ever played), EA felt they have to at least equal what they saw in that. Street Volume 2 was a joy to play. Its a shame that they got away from that. Too bad,

DOR is definitely better than Mania, and still the best WWE grappler going for diehard fans of No Mercy (since this is the probably the closest to the No Mercy style we're ever going to get outside of a Def Jam – moreso, in fact, when compared to the underachieving Fight For NY). Revenge mode is GONE, replaced with a simple and linear, but halfway enjoyable career mode (note: it's the usual career setup where you take a weedy CAW through a season, powering him up, rather than being able to choose an existing worker). CAW is as good as ever, most of the moves from the departed stars (i.e. Lesnar) are there, and overall it's worth a pickup. I am usually in total agreement with you on most things, Spree, but here I have to completely disagree. The action is too slow, and the CAW palette is horrible. I actually liked the story mode, and if the companies involved would acutally *listen* to the gamers' crituques and complaints (aside from the 7-12 year old gamers that they target). They could affix multiple storylines, starting with building a CAW from scratch that and then putting him in more storylines according to level of experience (IE: Superstar Points) and any titles he owns. Also, I LOVED the multiple finishers, but those two factors were not enough to forestall my dislike for the game.

I'll throw Champions of Norrath and Return to Arms in the mix. The first one is about a linear as it gets, but its fun just collecting the items and creating others. The second one is a bit more involved yet still linear, but the side quests are actually very hard, even with a transferred character from the first game. These two games are more like what the BGDA series (which I love and still play) should have been.

And lets face it: people bash Webber because its easy. The timeout, the scandal at UM, his first several years in the league have made him a big, slow-moving target for people to take potshots at. Personally I wish people would get off the guy because he has been productive over the years, when he has stayed healthy. That being said this is a good trade for both teams, though if I had to put a number on it, I would say that its 65-35 in favor of the Sixers, maybe 60-40. I am going to be watching the Sixers with a lot more interest now. And yes, to have the Sixers somehow make it to the finals and lose would all but destroy Philly.

I bought Day of Reckoning simply because I couldn;t wait for SvR to come out, and boy did I regret that decision. SvR was a disappointment, too many meaningless bells and whistles, not enough significant improvements. I went back to HCTP, since I have had the most fun with that game. While playing it I come up with ideas on how to fix the game and make it much better, but alas, there is no way that I'll be listened to.

Not bad so far... short and to the point.. Although I *had* to laugh when I saw that you have a moveset for SD Jones.

Even without the blood, that was one awesome match. I remember when I first saw Muta in NWA back in the 80s, and I was in sheer awe of his ability. This match reminded me why I liked both Muta and Hase back in the day.

How are the season modes in Segas 05 series?
Rendclaw replied to Youth N Asia's topic in Video Games
Nah, you just have to improve slowly... do light and normal intensity throughout the season and your team's chemistry will be very high... the Magic season I have (that I am thinking about giving up on in favor of the Suns, I'm having much more fun with that team), my team's chemistry was about 77% just past the All Star break, and that was without trainers. -

The one glitch that is a touch annoying in NBA 2k5 is that when scores appear while you're playing a game, your players stats from past games appear. But thats minor. Overall its a wonderful game. -

set up the subs so that they take place on the next dead ball. -
We are really seeing the differences between Carmelo and LeBron now. Carmelo seems like he isn;t having much fun out there and that is indeed rushing hsi game, while LeBron seems like he is going to Magic Johnson/Oscar Robertson territory... Its amazing how much poise he possesses, where conventional wisdom would say the exact opposite.... It seems more like Carmelo is the kid straight out of high school, playing just to get paid and for the fame, while LeBron is the much more mature player.... its bizarre.

Reggie should have hung it up after his layup was redirected into Low Earth Orbit by Tayshaun Prince. And I doubt that Karl is done for good just yet. He's running this crap for pub, just like all the crap that happened after Kobe ran him off the Lakers. If you want to play with another team, then get the deal done. If not, just retire. Don;t insult my intelligence by flirting with playing for another championship contender. It;s just complete silliness.

Be careful Boston fans. Any more sports success and you guys will turn into what you have hated for so many years. I couldn;t be happier with my Magic right now. in the #6 spot, and Dwight Howard is going to turn into a VERY good 4. He is reminding of of Amare when he came into the league, and he has a good former big man coaching him too, as I read in the sporting news. I am simultaneously enjoying watching the Bulls style of play, while watching the Lakers fall apart. The only way the Lakers get into the playoffs is if Kobe plays like he was before he went down; reducing his shot attempts while looking to get his teammates off. On the one hand I feel bad because I was a diehard Lakers fan dating back to the 70s, but after watching that soap opera ever since Shaq got there has just killed my love for the franchise. EDIT: Where is the site for those team flag sig thingys?

The easiest way is to spend 40-50 bucks and buy a DVD player... pulling double duty was what killed my first PS2.

My question is, why? Getting teed up in a game is just silly. I don;t need that level of realism in my video games, and if I was playing a game where that happened, my controller would go out the damned window. I agree that there should be flagrant fouls. Live 96 had them, although the problem with those were that your players would be knocked out of the game and possibly more afterwards. -
Then again, anyone weighing over 500 lb doing a belly to belly like that is going to be devastating.... Rikishi's wasn't bad either.
-
Not to mention he had the best belly-to-belly since Magnum TA.

no offense, but Tarantino will never direct a Bond film. Ever.

I liked the concept of Enterprise, but it just did not hold my interest. This is the plan by Paramount to mothball Star Trek, perhaps permanently minus of course syndication. TNG and DS9 put a LOT of money in Paramount's pocket, and since the regime change at Paramount, the writing was on the wall for the franchise. I agree with the opinion that they needed to make another series around the TNG/DS9 timeframe to keep interest high. They should have done that, but maybe Berman (in his finite wisdom) thought that he and Braga did all they could do with that... the lack of interest in the last TNG movie bears that out. As for the underlying TNG-DS9 debate, TNG blazed the trail that DS9 followed, though DS9 did a far better job of telling the story and was far darker and edgier than TNG ever was. TNG didn;t really get rolling until the third season, while they started to nail things down on DS9 from the middle of the second season on. Voyager was a great concept and had a good run, but they definitely jumped the shark when they brought Jeri Ryan on board, no matter how good she was to look at. By that time, the franchise itself was holding on for dear life. I don;t know, this will be the first time since 1987 that there won;t be a Star Trek show on TV, and that makes me a bit sad for some reason.... or it that sadness based on the fact that I am going to have to shell out about $1500 for all of the TOS, TNG, DS9 and Voyager episodes on DVD?

Now I haven;t seen too many matches with the Briscoes, but I think I have one somewhere, and after watching that a few times, I'll come back with stats. Any help from someone who is more familiar with the Briscoes is greatly appreciated. If necessary or needed, I can go back to the previous wrestlers (that I am familiar with) and create a stat list for them as well.

If you're jonesing that hard for a PS2, work for it instead of trying to screw over a retail chain. Even though its Wally-World and they deserve every bad break they get (which in reality are all too few), you would use less energy flipping burgers for two months to pay for a PS2. And as for hyper-inflated prices for older games, people wonder why there is emulation.

I can do that... I like to think I am fairly good at it...

Not bad... I made Ricky Steamboat yesterday after getting the character formula. I had to alter the moveset ever so slightly, but it works pretty good so far. I was also thinking that we should also enter the character models and suggested ability scores as well. To start it off, lets go with the aforementioned Paul Orndorff: HCTP Stats: Strength: either 8.5 or 9; He was almost as strong as Hogan was back in the day. Submission: 7.5 or 8; He never used a lot of submission holds, but he was very sound. Endurance: 9 minimum; He could take a lot of punishment and he didn't tire easily. Technique: 8 or 8.5; While he was no Bret Hart or Chris Benoit, he was very sound technically. Speed: 8, maybe an 8.5; For a muscular 250 lb. guy, he could move very well for his size. Thoughts? Opinions?

This sounds like an intriguing idea.. Though I think that after seeing an excellent RPG like X-Men Legends, I would love to see a Street Fighter RPG in that same vein. Think of the possibilities of that one.
