  1. I got live 2005 for the xbox... I bought myself a new 27 inch tv.
  2. This has the be *the* most chaotic thing I have ever read.
  3. Buy it. You will not be disappointed.
  4. I started it, but I stoppped partway through. I might as well start over. Wolverine and Rogue were always my two main characters, and alternating between Storm and Cyclops for the leadership ability, with the fourth being whomever. Rogue is just devastating when levelled right. Thanks for the advice, Kahran. Nice to know I was doing things right just on instinct.
  5. This is one of the biggest tragedies in music, much less the genre of Metal. Dime was a flat-out innovator. His style was indescribable. I remember a friend of mine turned me onto Pantera in 91 when he gave me a compilation tape of Cowboys from Hell and Vulgar Display, and I was so blown away by what I heard, that tape stayed in my Walkman for at least two or three weeks straight. He gave a genre of music that was slowly decaying a few more minutes of vibrancy. Pantera was a band that challenged itself to get better, go harder, and get heavier with each album, and never rest on your laurels. When I walked into work the day after he was killed and was told about it, I was in a state of shock. I loved the man's playing, his honesty, and to hear such words of praise from his peers gave me more pause. He was one of those kind of guys that struck me as the perfect person to hang out with and get drunk with and talk about guitars and amps and other bands all night long. I was upset when Pantera did break up, but its not like I couldn;t see it coming from about a mile away, with all the things that were reportedly going on behind the scenes, rumors and mud-slinging. But I knew that one day, they would put all of those things to rest between them, and one of the best metal bands to come out of the late 80's/early 90's would rise from the ashes to crush all before them once again. But that's not to be, now. Rest in Peace, Darrell, and all of my well-wishes and condolences go out to the families of the victims in this tragic, tragic incident.
  6. I saw Growlganser Generations in the local Best Buy here in the Akron area, and I was tempted for about five minutes. KOTR is good, though I find myself stuck someplace. That's all right I can get back to it soon enough, as my NFSU2 addiction has gotten much worse of late. I still have to get into Tales of Phantasia, or whatever that GC RPG is that was recommended to me.
  7. Thats a damn good website.. better than the one I used to use for my HCTP CAWs.

You bought yourself a birthday present? Yeah, I'm 36 years old now, and I make enough money that I can do that, and I don't expect gifts from anyone that I am close to. The only one who did was my mother, and she died earlier this year. So yeah, I ponied up $250 and bought an XBox, KOTOR, and NFSU2. And I am not regretting that purchase in the slightest. So yes, I am now drinking the XBox Kool-Aid. And liking it.
  9. I love the hell out of the Baldur's Gate series, and ain;t ashamed of it. I played part 1 of the .hack series, and I didn;t like it very much. I'm just glad I only spent 12 bucks on it. I do prefer action RPGs, and as much as I have a fear and mild loathing for Evercrack, Champions of Norrath is a damn good game. It strikes me more as a deeper, more difficult Baldur's Gate. Right now I am heavily into Knights of the Old Republic.

I used to be severely outspoken against the XBox, until two things happened. KOTOR came out, and the price came way the hell down. Then I bought one for my birthday, which is in fact, today. I bought KOTOR and NFSU2 for it and I am HOPELESSLY addicted to them both, though I have spent the last two days playing NFSU2... the possibilities... sheesh. I still love my PS2, just because the wide variety of games out for it and the 20+ that I have for it. Though I think I am going to get my XBox modded, as I really have no use for the Live component.
  11. Amen on the AI. I am up to playing the game with my second CAW (who is earning XP for my Low-Ki CAW) on Hard, and a match with Hardcore Holly is just a brain-killer for sure. I found myself longing for HCTP and I started playing that, even finishing the season with my Hercules CAW. Good thing I make a decent living, because I would have been a lot more pissed off about the game if I was making minimum wage.
  12. I am encountering that in my ESPN NBA 2k5 season. It seems that defense does not matter as much. I have been contesting my opponents shots, right up in their faces, jumping right with them and the shot still goes down. I'm not asking for blocks every time and I really don;t want to mess that much with the sliders, but I have been close to throwing my controller during some games.
  13. I like the challenges, though they could have been more streamlined if they had been incorporated into the season mode somehow. The absence of titles really hurts this game to me, since there are less things to shoot for in season mode. The create-a-belt mode is fine, but if they had also incorporated them into season mode, it would have made for a more customizable experience. The lack of storylines hurts the game as well. As trite as they were at times, the multiple storylines in HCTP made the gameplay much more interesting. I have to say that putting voiceovers in the game took away from the overall experience that its predecessor had. I'm disappointed, but not as much as I could have been.
  14. I bought my GF one (here in Ann Arbor they were all sold out), but I found one while vacationing in Idaho last weekend), and she says that it works just fine... I bought her BG:DA 1 and 2 and she also has Drakan to keep her occupied. I wonder if the design of not having a HD means that Sony has basically given up on the idea? That was the one advatage that the X-Box had over the PS2, IMO.
  15. Although yes, it is a not-very-glorified upgrade of HCTP, but the variations make it interesting. I just ran through the game with my namesake CAW, which looks more like me than the incarnation in HCTP, which is a plus... Though they took out a major portion of the wardrobe in CAW mode, it is much more streamlined. When I design my Killian CAW, he should be much closer to the vision of him that I have. Speaking of that, anyone find a Low-Ki CAW yet? The game play is faster, but I still can chain moves together like nobody's business, especially now that I am close to maxing out my character. I like the fact that each of the weight classes have their strengths and weaknesses, and they come into play during a match. Quite frankly, a lot of these upgrades should have been in HCTP, and this game should be something else entirely. But we shall see how the next WWE game works out at this time in '05, eh?
  16. Yeah, and I did NOT like the models for the CAWs, either. When I create my namesake CAW, he looks more or less like me. I simply could not do that. the freaking skin tones were a bitch to mess with, so I just said to hell with it and left him with orange skin.... didn;t matter much anyway, as the slow gameplay just left me cold.
  17. I traded in my Day of Reckoning for a preorder of this, so it had BETTER be good... though I was so frustrated with DoR that I would have traded it in for Just Bring It. The grapple system is fine. I for one don't want or need a pinpoint grappling system a la Fire Pro. I don;t want something so arcade-y either, but I don;t want to be throwing my controller in frustration, either. As ide I have said before, there needs to be more of a focus on the esoteric aspects, such as title and manager recognition. But lets face it; just like in the "real life" WWE, we represent a minority, and the majority will always be catered to.
  18. I wish I could go back into my posted messages and c&p it here... one of the most recent fun matches was my CAW Steiners vs. The Road Warriors. Another of the more fun outings was my Power and Glory CAWs vs. my namesake and Randy Savage CAWs. It was a challenge, as Roma and Herc were not quite built up to the level that I wanted them to be, but I won the match.
  19. My whole point is why get all that fired up over a list produced by an anti-guitarist site? Too elite for elitists, indeed. Its more comical than anything else. And yes, guitar solos should fit the song, not interfere with the message that the song is trying to convey. But then again, I just might still be on a high from meeting Joe Satriani Wednesday night, so don't mind me. Edit: By the way, the "solo" in Teen Spirit was more of a harmony than anything else, as it was replicating the vocal line in the pre-chorus. I like it because its just a minimalist approach to a guitar solo. If the really wanted to put a "bad" solo on there, they should have put In Bloom in there. That was a rambling, disjointed solo if there ever was one. But then again, perhaps that was the point. Not like you can ask Kurt about it, considering he's dead and all.
  20. Point to Raz. That voice lineup is outstanding.... I kind of prided myself on not having owned any of the GTA series, or even played them extensively... I just might have to change that.
  21. I am getting a touch tired of recreating my CAWs and the ones that I want in the game.... thats why I am going to keep HCTP. if I want to see a Steiners-Road Warriors match, I can do that, no problem. Not to mention that some of these kids REALLY need to base their formulas on actually videos of the wrestlers. I had to seriously edit the Scott Steiner CAW I found to make him look right, though the Rick Steiner CAW I found was pretty much dead-on. I like running through the storylines multiple times just so I can watch HHH's Superstar Points go lower and lower.... I get such a perverse thrill out of it. Not to mention just how many kinds of matches they will throw at you to strip you of the WWE/World Title. The game is a lot of fun, I have to admit.
  22. I never could get into playing Total Carnage. I stuck with Street Fighter through the years, excepting a minor foray into MK. When Killer Instinct came out, I about gave up on decent fighting games coming out, as there was precious little true strategy in it... but I have ranted on KI before, so I will just stop there. My gf and I like playing Baldur's Gate II and Champions of Norrath together, so I can count those as well. I was highly annoyed last night, as I have to seriously buckle down to beat the Chargers on NFL 2k5, even though I knocked out LaDainian Tomlinson with a fractured leg. I *so* love my CAP DT.
  23. Nah, I am playing the Magic, and it does the same thing. I just ignore it.
  24. thats kind of a shame since I like my CAWs to either own or have owned every possible title. My Low-Ki CAW has done that, since basically he is a cruiserweight despite his stats. And I have grown to hate Day of Reckoning as well, though I am nowhere near as far in the game as Venkman.... I love the moves, but god the gameplay really, REALLY sucks.
  25. ESPN NBA 2k5 ESPN NFL 2k5 Midway Arcade Treasures 2 (been rocking Wizard of Wor, that game used to own me back in the day) X-Men Legends Jet Li: Rise to Honor WWE SmackDown: Here Comes the Pain Lately I;ve been buying more games than I am able to play.
