  1. I finished Starrcade, and again, what a weird show. The battlebowl was also pointless, since they even had a feature on the ring (!) but don't even award it to Muta!
  2. I need to move to Fort Lauderdale. Put me on that jury
  3. I'm going to the Rumble! Sweet
  4. It's just a weird pointless show. What's the point of changing the result from a double countout to a DQ win?
  5. And Smues- as painful as that moment is (I refuse to say his name because of it), it's what he is most well known for, and thus should be mentioned in the article
  6. Best news I've heard all day. Put me on that jury
  7. The History of WWE Championship Part 6 has a really awkward cut from Brock v. Rock to them showing Eddy beating Brock. Which sucks, I wanted to see Benoit v. Angle again. I'm looking forward to seeing Starrcade 92, haven't seen that show in a while.
  8. Why not? Even though it's been about six months, this is the biggest wrestling story ever, and thus should be open for discussion
  9. I don't think she was ever popular. She once won Worst Poster of the Year
  10. That article really doesn't prove anything. As al pointed out, it's anecdotal evidence
  11. I was pointing out that John C. Reilly is not a box office draw, I have no complaints on his acting ability.
  12. It was 20 minutes
  13. How is that thread not a classic?
  14. I think the teenage market that saw Superbad didn't want to see a music spoof biopic of the 60s and 70s, and adults didn't want to see a movie that relied on Cox jokes. Plus, it's John C. Reilly
  15. Absolutely not. Sweeney Todd had an excellent showing, given its screen count and dark subject matter. It did better than expectations if anything, especially since adults have plenty to choose from. The one thing to be concerned about is the Friday to Saturday drop, but that was probably from the musical's built in audience. It should be able to sustain momentum. If anything, this speaks highly of Depp's BO clout.
  16. Here's the list: Day After Tomorrow opened to 68.7 million to Shrek 2's 72 million. Longest Yard opened to 47.6 million to Star Wars' 55 million. Madagascar also opened that same weekend as Longest Yard and made 47.2 million Casiono Royale opened to 40 million to Happy Feet's 41 million.
  17. Cleveland Green Bay Indianapolis Kansas City Miami Buffalo Jacksonville New Orleans Minnesota Arizona Seattle N.Y. Jets Tampa Bay San Diego Buffalo- 17
  18. I agree Kamala. I liked the movie a lot, but it def could not hold a candle to Squid and the Whale. Jack Black having to act in the dramatic parts was a bit painful. Noah Baumbach is great though, and I loved the ending. Shame you couldn't see Before the Devil, also a good film and Marisa Tomei looks great
  19. Dallas
  20. The only to have a sub-$1,000 PSA this week is Half Moon, a foreign film released by Strand Releasing that specialises in gay movies. Here's the official site: http://www.mijfilm.com/movie.php?m=71&lang=1 Here's a positive NY Times Review: http://movies.nytimes.com/2007/12/14/movie...html?ref=movies
  21. Jericho's book is awesome
  22. Pittsburgh
  23. Depp's a big draw, but he doesn't have the track record of Will Smith. Sweeney Todd will be a big test of his drawing power. Samuel L. Jackson is #1 if you add up all his movies basically, including bit parts.
  24. Mecca dropped his John Morrison signature :-(
  25. It's actually movies released that had a per screen average of less than $1,000 which basically means the theatre was empty. So far I haven't seen any movies hit the sub-$1,000 plateau for this week, but boxofficemojo is still updating the actual numbers. Also, in limited release Francis Ford Coppola's comeback movie Youth Without Youth tanked
