  1. He's playing on an expansion team and is averaging 15-11. You're a fucking retard. What does this mean? Can I watch the show as a wrestling fan and just like what I like and dislike what I don't like
  2. I think Shaq is awesome but seeing Alonzo Mourning with a title would make me sick.
  3. Martha Hart specificially asked them not to show footage of the funeral and Vince promised he wouldn't
  4. I understand that Mike and I know Vince was I'm sure freaked out beyond belief. But I'd think it'd be common sense to call off the show and deal with everything when the time comes. And regarding more crass WWF things- showing footage of the funeral was such a dick thing to do
  5. Owen Hart plummetted to his death in front of a live audience. Don't you understand this? Your points make absolutely no sense given what we're arguing. Should WWE never mention any wrestling tragedy since it's escapist? Should they not have acknowledged Stu Hart's death? OWEN HART DIED YOU FUCKING MORON. An actor messing up his lines and Owen Hart plummetting his death is probably the dumbest comparison I've ever read. If an actor was supposed to be lowered on stage and plumetted to his death- I think they would stop the show. Your quotes from circus sites don't enhance your point in the slightest. Owen Hart died in a horrific death and they should've stopped the show. Vince could've offered refunds to everyone, the company wouldn't have gone bankrupt and he wouldn't have looked like a huge asshole. Again- a wrestler getting hurt in the match and going to the finish is different from a man falling to his death. And they have stopped matches after people got hurt.
  6. From mediaweek- In week two news, although it was expected that NBC’s The Office would dip considerably from its protected Thursday 9:30 p.m. debut last week, losing by significant proportions to ABC’s lackluster Rodney (in viewers and adults 18-49) is concerning. Take a look: Tuesday 9:30 p.m. The Office (NBC) Overnights: 5.4/ 8 (#3), Viewers: 5.93 million (#4), A18-49: 2.7/ 6 (#4) Rodney (ABC) Overnights: 5.0/ 7 (#4), Viewers: 8.61 million (#3), A18-49: 3.3/ 8 (#3) Retention for The Office out of lead-in Scrubs (Overnights: #4, 5.3/ 8; Viewers: #4, 6.32 million; A18-49: #4, 3.0/ 7 at 9 p.m.) was, however, respectable at 94 percent in viewers and 90 percent among adults 18-49. Since this was the first week of The Office in its regularly scheduled Tuesday 9:30 p.m. time period, we’ll pass on giving the sitcom a label. But if there is any more erosion next week, it’s off to the loser’s circle.
  7. ^ says heh way too much
  8. Tell me more about Nick
  9. Tell me more about Nick
  10. I thought most Americans were pretty religious. I mean I thought that was the moral of the 2004 election
  11. Tonight's episode was hilarious. I liked the pilot but it was obvious they didn't really understand how they wanted Carrell to play it and were working out the kinks of translating the show. So many great lines tonight that I can't quote them all. "Come on- Holocaust v. slavery!" "Mr. Brown- if that's his real name."
  12. If there's no movement in the head Then he must be dead
  13. No- it was just brutally unfunny and totally killed any points you were trying to make
  14. How do you know it would've pissed off the wrestlers? I'm sure the last thing some of them wanted was to be sent there to try and work the crowd into a match after someone just died. You cancel it out of respect for the tragedy that just occured. And I don't think anyone put Owen's death out of their mind after what they just had seen. It was still crass though. So the WWF should've booked for the people who went to the bathroom? Continuing the show as if nothing had happened is totally insensitive. A man just died. I think most rational fans would've accepted that if they cancelled the show. Most circus acts don't have someone plummeting to their death. You do realise that a man died in this situation right?
  15. I still remember OJ getting acquitted- good job Johnnie. RIP
  16. The last before RAW always seems to suck though. It's just hard sell to the nth degree
  17. M. Night did the movie Wide Awake before the Sixth Sense. It's about a kid whose grandfather dies and he gets help dealing it with from a nun played by Rosie O'Donnell. It's not like any of his other 4 films
  18. The Knicks have never been good at getting the top free agents- I don't see it happening.
  19. Continuing a show after a wrestler had died is pretty crass. Showing HHH beating on Rock in the casket angle after Owen had died/about to die- again was crass. I'm sure there were baseball fans upset when they cancelled the game when the ump died- there's always going to be people like that. The right decision would've been to cancel the show.
  20. I went to Wrestlemania XX so I was beyond excited for that show. Getting to see The Rock and Foley team up, Eddy v. Angle and Benoit possibly win all right in front of me was awesome. For Wrestlemania XIX I couldn't wait to see Rock v. Austin, Booker v. HHH and HBK v. Y2J. This year...I don't know. Regal, London and Booker are my three favourite wrestlers and they don't have matches. Benjamin, Edge and Benoit, the other guys I like, are all in that thrown together money in the bank match. I'd rather them give them seperate matches then do that. That's just lazy booking. I'm also worried Money in the Bank is going to be like Unforgiven last year where they just took pussy bumps and then laid around for a while. I'd be more excited for HBK v. Angle if Angle wasn't a walking cripple. Eddy v. Rey is the only match I'm really looking forward to- and I don't even get Smackdown!
  21. Yea but once the fans found out Owen Hart was dead- I'm pretty sure they would stop complaining. The WWF was trying to make it self look better in the media with their popularity exploding and the crass way in which they handled Owen's death certainly didn't help.
  22. I don't think the fans would be angry once they find out Owen Hart was dead. I don't remember baseball fans rioting when they cancelled the game after the umpire dead. Vince should've cancelled the show, offered refunds and found a way to make it up. I don't think it would've hurt him too much financially and the media probably wouldn't have crucified him as bad as they did
  23. I'd love to see it on the big screen. The one thing I don't like about the trivia track is that I think it defends the film a bit too much. It's like- we get it- it's not the most violent film of all time. I remember the first time I saw Pulp Fiction, it was in 1998 and it was on one of the PPV channels since they were also showing Jackie Brown. I was completely blown away. I got an A+ writing a paper about it in English.
  24. I love QT to death but I agree with notjames- if he ever did commentary he would just go off on tangents about other movies and directors he's seen and he'd totally lose track. The Charlie Rose interview and Siskel and Ebert segment are good enough. I learned so much backstory and information thanks to the trivia track
