  1. If you were smart, you'd know that neither of them makes money because ***TNA DOES NOT MAKE ANY MONEY AND HAS YET TO***. But for the fans, Joe over JJ is the best emotional payoff, especially since JJ is rumored to be out of the title picture indefinately afterwards.
  2. Senshi over Kazarian via double-stomp. Raven over Zbyszko, with haircut afterwards. Sabin and Lethal over Nash and Shelley, Shelley takes pin. James Gang and Abyss over Team 3D, Spike does the job. AJ, Daniels, and Sirelda over AMW and Kim, AJ over with AMW miscue.
  3. Then Sting goes over next month and drops it Joe in 2 months? That puts the title over? Or does Joe take it next month from Jarrett and retain over Sting in October. That I'd like because you'd get Joe destroying Jarrett and Joe over Sting to build the reign's prestige. But it also puts Joe into dangerous Goldberg syndrome. Joe's babyface mic work already has him halfway there, and being an undefeated world champion would complete it.
  4. And for further proof that TNA booking sucks, look no further to this thread where we're discussing matches one month or three months in the future instead of hearing anyone mention the actual PPV show where the supposed future of the company is to be made a main eventer.
  5. I'm not going to argue with a TNA mark, but I will set you straight. Joe/Sting means nothing, as the crowd has much more of an emotional attachment to Jeff Jarrett than they do Sting, the "hired big gun of the year" who at that time will have 2 months left on his contract. Joe/Jarrett, with Joe crushing Jarrett and ending his final TNA run at the top, would represent a fresh, new direction for the company, putting young athletes at the top. Joe/Sting would represent "Well, Sting's not gonna be here in 2 months, Joe wins, but look - OMG 2 babyfaces!" Both would draw equal. It's not like TNA has gained any new fans in the past year from anything they've tried. Those that order TNA are TNA fans already. Like there's gonna be a massive influx of people who buy to see Joe face a broken down Stinger over a broken Jarrett or something. IT DOESN'T MATTER. The fans want Joe to murder Jeff Jarrett. Not to face Sting. Check out TV ratings and PPV buyrates. They either stay constant or dip down, depending on the matchlists. More people will order "R.I.P. JJ" then "Joe/Sting".
  6. "Sting/Joe, is the BFG main event title match" That sucks.
  7. No, 2GOLD, the Royal Rumble does not determine the #1 contender 3 months ahead of time. It determines who will wrestle in A main event, usually THE main event, at WrestleMania. Given TNA's history, the #1 contender is usually the next person to get a title shot. With the Rumble winner, the World title is still defended up to the PPV in big matches. See Angle/Taker this year at No Way Out. If they want to have a huge title bout in Detroit in October, it's stupid to do the big #1 contender's match in *July*. That's 3 months without a title match. Or, if they do a title match next month, they have to rebuild the whole #1 contender's status for October all over again.
  8. Perhaps I'm incorrect then, and that is the case. However the mere fact that the champion isn't booked on the show to appear in a match (though I'm sure he'll interfere) is just astounding. I'm guessing Sting goes over tonight, and gets cost the match by Christian against Jarrett. At any rate, JJ/Joe and Christian/Sting would be my choice for the big October shows, but thats so far away still. Sting/JJ next month Aug. ? Sting+Joe Vs. JJ/Christian in Sept. ? Sting/Christian and Joe/JJ in Oct. ?
  9. That's quite a word to fuck up.
  10. Why is the prestigious #1 contender's spot being determined 3 months before the title match? More WCW nonsense booking.
  11. Reasons why this SNME was horrible and no one watched: 1) Prime time on a Saturday Night during the summer. Teenagers, college kids, and those out of college have better things to do. Pro wrestling isn't popular and anyone it used to bring in as a fresh audience prefers UFC. The only people that watch WWE are the people that have been for years. And most of them didn't even watch this show. 2) Horrible advertising leading up to the program. 3) Terrible main "draws" for the show #1: DX has squashed The Spirit Squad for weeks in a row. No one cares. 4) Terrible main "draws" for the show #2: Cena and Edge is boring. No one cares. Edge needs new opponents but has none. Cena has been associated with the title for so long that it's difficult to program him away from it. Thus, the "rinse and repeat" free TV "draw" drew nothing. 5) Terrible main "draws" for the show #3: Sabu. ECW fans don't want to watch Sabu in a watered down 3 minute match against an UNNAMED OPPONENT on freakin' NBC. 6) Hogan wasn't wrestling. Fans tune in for Hulk only when they know they'll have to buy a DVD to see what he did. All Hulk did was show up and shill his daughter, in a segment that will probably be seen in its entirety on Raw (and probably on ECW given that they love to recap WWE shows). So Hogan's drawing value was pretty nonexistant. If it's a heavily hyped PPV main with Michaels? I'll tune in. If it's a promo that's involving the likes of never-been-a-draw-with-no-charisma-to-match-Hulk Randy Orton? Uh, I can see it on AM Raw...or Raw...or wwe.com. No thanks.
  12. Seeing Shawn get his first WWF title belt against Davey was an awesome mark-out moment for a 9-year old UTSU.
  13. Updated to SNME Sucks and Heat. UMAGA cracks the top 10, and Finlay wins a title. Cena up a full match now.
  14. Old-school ECW fans like myself would have loved to see Vince's top acts pop in the arena every now in then, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. The reason it's resented NOW is because, unlike back then, this new ECW hasn't given their homegrown talent a chance to run with the ball.
  15. I find this to be fantastic news since WWE insists on putting talentless Henry on TV. I do not watch WWE Raw or WWE Presents "ECW", but I do watch WWE Smackdown!, and Mark Henry is one of the few wrestlers who continues to suck, has a horrible look, can't talk, and bores me to tears. Being free of his sweat-stained, ugly singlet, 3rd grade vocabulary, and slow, plodding movements will mean I get to see a better talent on TV. Celebrate!
  16. The official result of the Savage/Bret PPV is Savage by DQ. Piper changed the decision the following evening on Nitro because of Hart's dubious victory.
  17. You forget to mention that absurdity of the Seven promos, complete with a horse in the window of a little boy and then Dustin peeping into his window and scaring him. THE NEW WCW!
  18. Apparently instead of 10 punches in the corner, he uses his crotch. And then delivers a running crotch to the face ala Foley's knee attack.
  19. This is my favorite thread of '06 thus far...whoever posts next, please don't let me down.
  20. There's no flame baiting in NHB.
  21. Um Foley was putting over his relationships with celebrity interviewers for his book tours. He mentioned Melina, who if you go by her gimmick and paparazi, is technically a "celebrity". Works for me.
  22. Here's a gem for you: *** WCW Monday Nitro (Live) 01-08-96 Lex Luger suggests that he and Sting form a regular tag team and go for the WCW World Tag Team Titles. 1. Chris Benoit pinned Alex Wright with a German suplex. 2. Eddie Guerrero pinned Lord Steven Regal. 3. Sting defeated Dallas Page via submission with the "Scorpion Deathlock". 4. Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage defeated WCW World Champion Ric Flair & Arn Anderson when Hogan pinned Anderson. DDP "uncles" to Sting on 01-08-96 Nitro.
  23. WCW started the tapping out stuff in late '96 (mostly early '97).
  24. I would've thought the offer of cream in your mouth would have brought a smile to your face.
