  1. Based on what I've seen so far, I'll take Flash over Wagner.
  2. Gammons and company made a big fuss about poor Barry having to stand in the outfield and his knee getting "weak" by the 6th inning. I also saw a Phils fan, with a Phils hat and Yankees jersey (?!?!?) talk smack to Barry as he got up from the dugout to take some swings. Only problem was: Barry's mom was aproximately 8 feet from the fan. She looked at him and shook his head. Aww. Does anyone have a photo of the rumored "kid dressed as a syringe" from the first game of the series?
  3. Al, I'm very optimistic about the Phillies this year. I think Rowand, Utley, and Rollins have definately taken charge of the team, and its made Burrell and Abreu push themselves hard and contibute more. Abreu, as much as I think he was overrated in seasons past, has been really impressive this year and I've found myself rooting for him. And Big Sal's my hero. They left the bases loaded to end the inning in two straight innings. That's what I was commenting about. The Giants SUCK and this shoulda been over already. I don't think they can afford to leave 6 stranded in 2 innings time against the Mets.
  4. Phillies need to blow this game open already against the gray-haired pitching unit of the Giants.
  5. I smell some red herrings from The E (TV Special, RVD jobbing).
  6. Foley turns on RVD, leads to Sabu's debut. Sabu/Foley would be different at ONS II. Put Funk in there with Sandman. You also get Edge to take the IC title off RVD and do a Douglas'-esque TV title reign: great heel mic work and a female "slut" manager, from a guy that's held the top belt already and raises the value of the midcard strap.
  7. "Bonds hits a home run off Leiber for first time in 7 years!" ESPN's really stretching for Bonds factoids, given that Bonds was out last year and Leiber was with the Yanks before that.
  8. Facebook got big here before MySpace did, about 2 years ago or such. Facebook is kinda left in the dust now. I did wind up having sex on the floor of one of our residence halls with a girl who "Poked" me on facebook though, and after a thorough inspection from the health clinic I am STD free, so I have nothing bad to say about this online friend device.
  9. Rare 8 pm Sunday Night Phillies game tonight. Go Leiber!
  10. Here's a big one for you: 11-13-01 Smackdown: WWF Tag Champs The Hardy Boyz and WCW U.S. Champ Edge Vs. WCW Tag Champs The Dudley Boyz and WWF IC Champ Test
  11. The Brooklyn Brawler is getting a "Classic Superstars" action figure, coming out sometime near December. He also hints that one day he could be a WWE Hall of Famer. -WWE.com
  12. I really liked the first and hated the second, I plan on seeing this before Memorial Day Weekend. If it sucks, oh well, still got X-Men 3. Question: I saw pt. 2 once, like 4 years ago. Is there any reason to re-watch it in terms of plot tying in with/going into the 2nd one? Not that I remember 2 having much of a plot to begin with.
  13. Yes, "that was Credible" meaning Credible went over Dreamer who went over TazZ in the same night.
  14. What was the "real" Vince Vs. Austin blowoff? Austin Vs. Vince at the Skydome Raw? Austin Vs. Vince at SVDM? Austin Vs. The Rock at WM 15 (with Vince all over the scene, mind you) Austin Vs. Undertaker "End of an Era" Austin and McMahon become friends and play guitar songs? Austin f's over Vince at Invasion? Team WWF beats Austin's rebellious team at Survivor Series 01?
  15. First off, Nitro, Smackdown, Thunder, Raw, and Hardcore TV don't count. They're free. Only counting WWF/E, WCW, NWA, and ECW Pay-Per-Views. Also, weigh in the prestige of certain events and what should have been expected. i.e. "SummerSlam is the second biggest show of the year and Diesel/Mabel was a slap in the face to the fans." Give solid reasons for your picks and list your Top (Bottom?) 1-3. If you haven't actually seen the show, don't vote for it. _____________________ I'm popping in KOTR '95, which I was at live, but haven't ever watched on TV. I was bored out of my mind there as a youngster. Certainly the horrible matches, combined with the strength of the talent involved going out 1st round (Michaels, Taker), as well as the tarnish on the crown that wouldn't be saved until Angle won it in 2000 and DID something with the KOTR victory, are examples of why this show is just horrible. And Tatanka main evented. With Nash. And Sid. IN PHILLY. ____________
  16. T & A and Trish Vs. Hardyz & Lita - Fully Loaded 2000. After a few mishaps, it gets REAL good. I mark out huge for A-Train's spot where he swings his right arm to clothesline Matt, Matt ducks it, and then from behind Matt gets leveled with the LEFT arm. ________ A-Train/Kane series was hot. Including Kane doing a Frankensteiner. ________ A-Train as a babyface with Scotty was a guilty pleasure team. I liked seeing the crowd support Albert and pop for him, even though the team wasn't really going anywhere. Vengeance's Albert/Scott Vs. Test/Christian was cool, as I was a big fan of 3 of them at the time.
  17. I thought the London/Akio matches were really overrated. I like both guys styles a TON, too. I know they're capable of so much more when not constrained to work how The E wants them to. Aside from one spot where London totally went headfirst into the mat off the ropes, I believe, nothing stands out as memorable. Better than seeing Animal and Tatanka work, but not deserving of so much hype, IMO, anyway. But I'll be the first to watch them hook it up again and hopefully top themselves. What's up with London, BTW? He won a four-way "#1 Contender's Match" for the Cruiser Title just as Helms got hurt. Never got a title shot. Now he's obviously the #1 co-contender for the tag titles. And he just pinned Helms on Smackdown in a six-man. MAKE UP YOUR MINDS, BOOKERS.
  18. Who the hell responds to himself using his own quotes twice? Go away.
  19. Keep in mind that Turner owned both the wrestling company AND the TV station ir aired on in its dying days.
  20. That makes absolutely no sense. Why would Show & Henry take less money at all for however many dates? They're working every show now.
  21. I don't see how this couldn't be seen as a good thing. "Lucky Charms hits the ring, oh no Tazz, he has the chair! Wait, Benoit sees him...Crippler Crossface!"
  22. Works for me, as there has never been a good scaffold match.
  23. Hey I can honestly say that at 12:30 mid-day, the hangover is gone and I can see just about 100%.
  24. Rhyno did not win the ECW Title from Dreamer, that was Justin Credible. The Rock Vs. The Dudley Boyz *WAS* for the WCW World Title, as Charles Robinson even tried to award the WCW title to the Dudleys (bullshit Alliance cheating) before a WWF referee stepped in to right things. Storm's would be: US Champ Storm Vs. Cruiser Lt. Loco US/Cruiser Storm Vs. Hardcore Big Vito US/Cruiser/Hardcore Storm Vs. World Booker T. Technically, "Two Dudes With Attitudes" against Camp Cornette (the World, IC, and Tag Titles) doesn't count, since the next night on Raw the match was officially deemed a non tag-title match.
  25. My PPV video copy and my WWF VHS copy of WM 17 both have the unedited version of the Limp Bizkit song, with dirty-word cussin'.
