SNME Comp I Made...Creative Criticisms?
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in General Wrestling
#29 is indeed the 1991 battle royal that Mr. Perfect won. I remember as a young mark being happy to read that Hogan had been eliminated when reading the review in WWF Magazine. -
SNME Comp I Made...Creative Criticisms?

The Ted DiBiase Vs. Blue Blazer match is an interesting extended squash that goes 3:58. Highlights include: - Blazer does his trademark backflip off the top rope into the ring...only to be LEVELED by "no-nonsense" DiBiase's clothesline. - Blazer flipping over DiBiase's back during an attempted back body drop at 100 MPH, and hitting a dropkick. - Blazer follows that up with a pretty unheard of (back then) running cross body through the top/middle ropes to DiBiase on the floor. - DiBiase catches Blazer's attempted leapfrog with the trademark DiBiase powerslam. It was short and sweet and both workers rock, so I wanted it. -

SNME Comp I Made...Creative Criticisms?

Well, not looking to sell it...but would easily trade for some stuff, as I think that's legal. But I wanted this thread to actually be about What SNME memories you think would deserve to go on a BEST OF COMP? (that weren't already included) Keep in mind, stuff like Andre/Hogan title change and MegaPowers breakup occured on NBC's "Main Event", not SNME. -
To me, the point of TNA making money on their "money match" with Joe/Daniels was to see the unbeatable Joe take on Daniels, who thus far has turned back all his title challengers and been seen as an unbeatable champion. So they have 1 of 2 be pinned by Shark Boy, a TNA comedy act. Brilliant. This is why TNA doesn't make money. Joe won't go over at the PPV, further pissing off the fans. People act like "OH! Joe will go over on Spike or at the BIG PPV in October...EVERYONE WILL SEE IT THEN!" News flash: People have to WANT TO WATCH the product to see it.

Will one night stand stand the test of time

I found the quick title-win by the super-over Eliminators to be entertaining. Storm/RVD was ok. I found the Michinoku 6-man to by entertaining. Taz/Sabu was pretty decent, with a good ending to a well-built feud. The 3-way #1 contender's match was good, and I think shit on because Funk went over. Main event was shit. Certainly better than most WWE shows around that time. -

Funny how the trolling TNA mark is ripping Barely Legal, when TNA is a direct (and significantly weaker) rip-off of ECW. Please, return back to the land of hee-haw, broken guitars, and Hoyt. -
Well, they just spoiled Unbreakable's X-Title match. Daniels is going over, pinning Styles. The X-Title match had previously been booked as the X-Cup winner Vs. Daniels, so I guess they didn't want Joe perceived as a non-heavyweight title thread. Perhaps Joe/Raven could be in the works, you never know. Also, I dig this Shelley/Waltman team, they should be going over for the belts, methinks. The rest blows. Shark Boy over Daniels? Dear God. Tentative Unbreakable Card - NWA Title: Raven Vs. Rhino - NWA X-Title: Christopher Daniels Vs. AJ Styles Vs. Samoa Joe - NWA Tag Team Titles: Naturals Vs. AMW Vs. Team Canada Vs. Waltman/Shelley - Shocker Vs. Chris Sabin - Lance Hoyt Vs. Monty Brown or Kip James

I'm just about finished with a comp. of SNME action, ranging from all 31 episodes. I didn't put any promos, just complete matches. I have 2 matches left to locate and add to the DVDs. Match List: #3 - WWF Champion Hulk Hogan & Andre the Giant Vs. Big John Studd & King Kong Bundy #4 - WWF Champion Hulk Hogan Vs. Terry Funk #7 - Ricky Steamboat Vs. Jake Roberts #9 - WWF Champion Hulk Hogan Vs. Paul Orndorff (Steel Cage) #10 - Battle Royal #11 - WWF Tag Team Champions The Hart Foundation Vs. The British Bulldog (2 out of 3 Falls) #12 - WWF Intercontinental Champion The Honky Tonk Man Vs. Randy Savage #13 - Randy Savage Vs. Bret Hart #15 - Hulk Hogan Vs. King Harley Race #20 - Ted DiBiase Vs. The Blue Blazer #20 - The Rockers Vs. The Brain Busters #21 - WWF Champion Hulk Hogan Vs. The Big Boss Man (Steel Cage) #22 - WWF Tag Team Champions Demolition Vs. The Brain Buster (2 out of 3 Falls) #23 - WWF Champion Hulk Hogan Vs. Ted DiBiase #24 - The Rockers Vs. The Brain Busters (2 out of 3 Falls) #25 - WWF Champion Hulk Hogan & WWF Intercontinental Champion The Ultimate Warrior Vs. Mr. Perfect & The Genius #26 - The Hart Foundation Vs. The Rockers #27 - WWF Intercontinental Champion Mr. Perfect Vs. Tito Santana #27 - WWF Tag Team Champions Demolition Vs. The Rockers #29 - Ted DiBiase Vs. Bret Hart #29 - Battle Royal #30 - WWF Champion Ric Flair & The Undertaker Vs. Hulk Hogan & Sid Justice #31 - WWF Intercontinental Champion The British Bulldog Vs. Shawn Michaels Some were thrown in for nostalgia (#30, #3 for instance), but stuff like a Bundy/Hogan rematch, IMO, isn't historic. Covered all the title changes, too, which just happened to fall in good matches. And I'm a battle royal mark, so I got both of them in there, wins by Hercules and Perfect, respectively. HOGAN ELIMINATED TWICE, OMG. Haha. My question: Any matches you feel I should include before burning this thing? Or I guess, what matches do you feel were dissed and are part of SNME's Best Matches?

Check The OC site at fox.com. It has track listings for every artist in every single episode.

"The Giant beating Ric Flair for the title on Nitro in 1996" I don't know how surprising it was to me, considering they did the match earlier in the year, with Giant winning by DQ. They wouldn't do the same finish, IMO. Just my thoughts going into it. Of course, that episode (with Giant winning the title) was taped, so many knew what happened.

IMPORTANT: Concerning TSM's Future

TheSmartMarks is nowhere near the best wrestling board, but IS, IMO, the best BOARD overall. I'll say thanks for the money and such put into the place. -
Or as one of the three WWE Diva Search theme songs. Which it is. Eden's Crush had a fun one hit wonder a while back, I'm cool with this song. It has that total "make cheating on your girlfriend fun with a whore" vibe to it. I was curious as to who the actual SINGER of the words was...sad it wasn't Carmen Elektra.

Voting begins at 8 PM EST Monday morning. FINALIST #1 THE EVIL DEAD 1981 Directed by Sam Raimi Starring Bruce Campell, Ellen Sandweiss, Richard DeManincor, Betsy Baker, Theresa Tilly The Plot Three girls. Two guys. One Necronomicon. Wouldn't you like to be going home? I bet you'd like that, wouldn't you? Scott?" "I know now that my wife has become host to a Candarian demon. I fear that the only way to stop those possessed by the spirits of the book is through the act of... bodily dismemberment." "You bastards! Why are you torturing me like this? Why?" This was an important place in their lives." "Many have died, last week, on these streets. In the basement of this building, you will find them. I have given them the last rites, now, you do what you will. You are stronger than us... But soon, I think they be stronger than you. Will do. You people got Shining thus far, not me. I think the film's so overrated, personally. But good luck to it, I guess. It tied in the first round, so its ability to possibly make the finals is interesting. -
