I like the Adult Swim stuff on CN. Personally, though, FLCL is the best anime series I've seen in like 6 months. Surreal, yes, but I love it.

Saw it yesterday while waiting for my power to return (Dominion Power of Northern VA deserves DEATH, DEATH upon them and their children). I liked it. It reminded me a lot of Blade (the first one), although the story was weak and there wasn't enough action for me. But if was a fun flick if you're into vampires / werewolves (and I am), and seeing Kate Beckinsale in skin-tight vinyl clothing was worth the matinee price alone.

I just had the disturbing thought that it's fuckwads like Blaine that make the world hate us so. Hey, world! Specifically Western Europe! Most Americans hate this prick too! He embarasses us! He does NOT represent what America is about!!!!!

Here's why I hate David Blaine: all his fucking tricks are WEAK. I mean, really. Putting himself in a box for six weeks? It's the 21st century, David. Pardon me if I'm not impressed. Harry Houdini deserved my respect because he did shit that could have killed him at any time. I don't see why anything Blaine does should make him nearly as rich or famous as he is.

I liked the show better when it was called TimeCop. Or "Seven Days". Or "Quantum Leap". Really, this shit is played. Just give me a guy who runs fast, please.

But kids ARE being more sexualized at a younger age - studies have shown that puberty is hitting (especially in girls) at a much younger age than in previous generations; it's not out of the question these days for girls to begin menstruation as young as eight or nine years old. And regardless of whether sex was always there, attitudes and morays about it have changed; whether that is a good thing or not is up to the individual to decide.

Am I one of the only ones who supports TNA here? If they truly want to become a strong number two promotion, they need to pull moves such as this - not only does it establish dominance over indy competitors, but it also protects them from talent raids by the WWE, one of their main vulnerabilities. This is natural progression for them.

This has been argued so much on this very board that it's just nauseating that anyone still brings it up. Depp has the right to say what he wants. Those who don't like what he says have the right to come and verbally rape him with bitter and harsh criticism. If you don't like that they criticize his remarks, boo fucking hoo. I'm surprised no one has brought up the inevitable Gore / Bush comparison yet. The recall supporters do have a legitimate gripe; Bill O'Reilly is the key person saying this (so it must be wrong, RIGHT?) but those ballots were just peachy keen for Davis' election, yet they're not good enough now? I think that's some of the inconsistency that Marney was talking about.

JMA is absolutely right. The Republicans orchestrated this recall and they're going to wind up the biggest losers of all - simply because of the fact that they can't swallow their "pride" and elect a man who's somewhat liberal on social policies. EXACTLY. WHO CARES if he's for gay marriage or not? If anything, the trend in this country is towards a more liberal (or at the least, moderate) attitude on social policies. It's not even a matter of if gay marriage will occur but when. Arnold isn't going to speed the process along, so getting on his ass about it is foolish. If the Republicans lose, it is because they DESERVE to lose. They had a golden opportunity and they pissed it away. This is a matter of simple pragmatism - Arnold is / was the only Republican (even if in "name only") who had a chance of winning, and they've somehow managed to ruin that.

That's a rhetorical question, right? You can't go around setting yourself up like that.

As much as I can't stand Albert, I'm praying that Sean gets paired with him in a tag team or stable. Maybe then he'll be able to get off of goddamn Velocity.

I know nothing about the 4th Crow film, and I may not want to know. I can't imagine a film with Furlong as the Crow being any good. The original is one of my favorite films, for the story and atmosphere, and because I'm a Brandon Lee fan (it's a shame he died so young - had he lived, I totally believe he would have gone on to be a big action movie star). The sequels were pretty awful, although the short-lived Crow TV series was pretty entertaining.
