  1. Aw Christ, we have to deal with fucking Rogue pining for Gambit again (and vice versa). Only now it's creepier, as Gambit appears to be a grown man, and Rogue seems to be a 15 year old girl. You know what would make me tolerate Gambit in this show? If they have him aid Sinister in slaughtering the Morlocks. THAT made me like the Cajun for half a minute in the comics.
  2. In order of importance: 5. Transformers (Generation One): One of my favorite shows of all time, animated or not. It's ranked fifth simply because a good 80% of all Transformers series that followed were either shitty or mediocre (with perhaps Beast Wars and Beast Machines being the only decent followups). It tarnishes the legacy. 4. G.I. Joe - I loved this show dearly. Great voice acting, especially by the late great Chris Latta (who also did wonderfully as Starscream in TF). And I still collect the toys. They're action figures, not dolls, damnit!!! 3. The Real Ghostbusters - incredibly fun show that mixed a healthy dose of humor with horror. Superb writing, by men such as Joe Michael Straczynski and animation veteran Michael Reeves. Perfect voice acting by Maurice LaMarche, Frank Welker, Lorenzo Music, and hell, even Arsenio Hall. Wicked good show. 2. Gargoyles - If you haven't seen this show done by Disney in the early / mid 90s, get tapes of it now. Unbelievable work. A show with a surprising level of maturity, appealing to a much wider audience than children, with good drama and action and some humor thrown in. Hell, the show interwove SHAKESPEARE into the story, and made it WORK. 1. Batman: The Animated Series - this is, of course, the original Batman:TAS, before it left for the WB and decreased rapidly in quality. This represents, IMO, perfection in the artform of animated program. It created a style all by its own, and gave us episodes of amazing drama and beauty. Episodes like "It's Never Too Late" and "Perchance to Dream" still blow me away. And there's incredible voice acting, from a diverse group of performers such as David Warner, John Glover, Paul Williams, Melissa Gilbert, and of course - Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill, who perhaps have given us the finest performances of Batman & the Joker ever committed to the small (or big?) screen. Sheer perfection.
  3. I taped it, but haven't watched it yet. I saw the first five minutes or so, and frankly, I'm not sure what to think. The CGI's okay, but I don't know if I like the storyline (all five minutes I saw of it) or the voice acting. Maybe once I see the complete product I'll have a more positive view. One minor gripe - Beachhead is NOT an enthusiastic fun-loving guy. Beachhead is a tough-as-nails, could-be-the-son-of-R-Lee-Ermey drill sergeant who will gladly kick your teeth down your throat for the slightest hint of insubordination. Oh, and Samurai Jack rules all.
  4. The settlements were nothing more than a convenient excuse. Arafat only wants one thing - and it's not peace with Israel.
  5. Because Disney doesn't capitalize on shit. All they do is put reruns of these shows on Toon Disney. Gargoyles is probably one of the greatest animated programs of the past twenty years. Ducktales was beloved by many of our generation. Hell, I'm sure even the Gummi Bears (or whatever the fuck that show was called) had its fans. Disney could make a KILLING on this stuff but for whatever reason they don't.
  6. Yes, I found that amusing as well. Kind of sad that it's not a matter of if he'll win the title back but when. My thoughts exactly. BPS echos much the same sentiment, and I agree with both of you. I don't think anyone here is arguing that HHH isn't tough for working with / through injuries. Some of us are just unwilling to praise him for doing that simply because he's doing it for the most selfish of reasons.
  7. I would imagine it's "Horseman" because they're labeling themselves after the most popular stable of all time and "Extreme" because Corino, Anderson and Diamond were all ECW mainstays.
  8. Never post in this particular folder again and all will be forgiven.
  9. To be fair, I did really dig the Darkwing episode where Gizmo and a few others joined forces with Darkwing to take down the villanious combination of Negaduck, Megavolt, Bushroot, Quackerjack and Liquidator. Christ, I need that series on DVD.
  10. I'm a casual gamer. So let me ask you diehards a question - do you generally piss on games with a lot of cinema or CGI movies in them? Cause frankly, I'll buy a game - like MS2 - for those things. I WANT the pretty pictures.
  11. I agree with the earlier poster who suggested that the ending of FFVII is left up to the player. I share Yuna's view, but I can see how the other belief is valid. This is perhaps the best description of bisho that has ever been written, or ever will be.
  12. This going to be available on video?
  13. I don't know why I am or should be at this point, but I still remain shocked as to why creative team head honchos deliberately cripple or outright eliminate angles on the secondary shows which actually help to get mid and lower card workers over. I mean, really, did Stevie Night Heat threaten ANYONE in the upper card of RAW, i.e. you know who? I fail to see how. The McMahons need to pay as little attention to Heat / Velocity as possible. They seem to be much better shows before the Great Eye of Sau....er, McMahon falls upon them.
  14. That was a wonderfully non-bitter Bret article. Although we all know that Bret isn't ever coming back into the ring. Not after a stroke, my friends, it's not happening.
  15. There's a difference between Kotz and you. Kotz was merely saying that the thought that 9/11 was caused by our government may have (or even possibly should have) run through the minds of many / most people, just as pure speculation (nothing based on fact). You seem to actually believe that it WAS caused by our government - there doesn't seem to be any speculation on your part.
  16. I like Yang, but a) he's a cruiser and b) he's Asian, so he's FUCKED in the WWE.
  17. I never did. It's not as if I have any great trust in our government, mind you, but I do have enough trust and faith in it and our leaders that they would never perpetrate an act of such incredible evil against their own country. The moon landing being a hoax, though, yeah, now THAT I've thought about.
  18. Don't hurt my feelings. Is it really so bad to agree with my thought process on something?
  19. I've heard that too. Most people who worked with Clark in the military seem to think of him as the biggest asshole on the planet.
  20. Here's what I didn't understand about the Highlander spinoff - why the hell would you make it about HER?!? C'mon. I would have watched a series about Methos every week.

    Hannity

I have a serious question about that, and it transcends party lines. Let's assume that most Americans are, by and large, moderates. They may lean one way or the other, but ultimately, they're not hardcore one party or the other - they'll vote across party lines if they like the political message being presented by one candidate or the other. Now, there are a certain amount of people who are rather hardline, or at least, the vast majority of the time they follow one particular party and ideology. These are the types of people who are likely to agree with the Hannitys or Michael Moores of the world. Do you really think that the extremes do much to make the moderates look down on one party or the other? I honestly don't think it does. I think most people look at guys like Moore or Hannity and recognize them for who they are, and realize they represent the hardline fringe of either party.
  22. Um, what? Forgive me for being the hardass here, but Carlson pulled a rather nasty little joke - which was funny, I'll give him that - and it backfired on him. Personally, I think he got what he deserved. SHOCKING that Carville would use this as a venue to attack Fox News.
  23. Marney is absolutely right. A Cold War MAY work against a NATION - such as Iran or North Korea - but against separate terrorist groups / cells, it will make no difference. These are people bred to die for their "cause" anyway, do you honestly think the possibility of nuclear death raining down upon their heads is going to deter them? How so? I have no distinct figures, of course, but it's likely that the various law enforcement / intelligence agencies of the US stop hundreds (if not thousands) of different terrorist plots or activities aimed against the US every year. I would personally define that as living under the constant "threat" of terrorism, even if 99% of us are unlikely to be directly affected by it.
  24. Are they more "friendly" to individuals of Tyler's political persuasion? If so, this explains some things.
  25. Holy Christ, this may be the best news I've heard all year. I'm being totally and completely honest, too. I could weep tears of joy over this.
