  1. In a way, if this show gets canclled, it might be a mixed blessing... I'd hate to watch a show with this humor and writing eventually lose its luster and become bland. But I still don't want it cancelled, come on Fox, I'm sure the DVD sales warrent keeping it around.
  2. Wish it was Joel & the bots, but I'll take what I can get!
  3. About Damn Time! Please, Scorsese & Pillegi commentary...
  4. I've almost finished reading the book and should be done before the film comes out, what other "Hitchiker" cross-overs should I look into? I know there's a- Radio Broadcast Comedy Album BBC TV Mini-series Computer game Other books Who here knows their "Hitchiker" stuff and can give me the low down on all of it.
  5. Hey Bob just curious, because you never posted a review of Hillary Swank's SNL show, what'd you think of Finese's Morgan Freeman on WU? I thought it was funny and dead on myself.
  6. ah well, as much as I wanted to see Martin win, I can't be upset with MDB (too much) Hopefully "The Departed" is real good and Marty gets up there again...and promptly loses to Eastwood for "Flags of Our Fathers" :-(
  7. Either Aviator's getting shut out in the top 2, or it's gonna be a sweep (outside or Actor and probably Screenplay)
  8. Jay-Z's busting a cap in someone's ass!
  9. Now I gotta see this "Find Me Guilty"- Vin Diesel showing the promise he had shown in Saving Private Ryan and Boiler Room
  10. Joel Stein is an asshole- "Oooh 'Holtel Rwanda', I haven't heard of that film, who cares, see how smarmy I am"- hahaha shuthefuckup
  11. Look, I don't care really I don't, I loved Million Dollar Baby, it was great... But Scorsese must win, and it helps that The Aviator was a real good film, with a great performance from DiCaprio in the center, Just my humble opinion
  12. *Bump* Finally saw the film tonight, beautiful, funny and touching. I can think of no more heartbreaking scene than when Miles screws up Maya's advances towards him when they're talking about wine (and really themselves), goes to the bathroom and comes out and tries to recapture the moment, but it's passed for Maya, at least he got it a couple nights later. This film reminded me a lot of Billy Wilder's work and I could've seen Wilder doing this film in the 70's with Jack Lemmon as Miles and Walter Matthau as Jack. Having seen all Best Picture nominees, for me, it'd go Aviator Sideways & Million Dollar Baby (tie) Ray Finding Neverland all are good films as far as I'm concerned.
  13. I picked up this collection at Sam's Club tonight for 43.53 (46.80 after tax). For those who maybe unaware, this collection features 6 gangster pictures from the 30's (and one from 1949). Back during the 30's Warner Bros. was known for its gangster pictures (much like MGM was identified for musicals, Universal for horror films and Columbia for comedies). The stars highlighted in this collection include Edward G. Robinson, James Cagney and Humphrey Bogart (who share billing in 2 of the films. The collection includes: Little Ceaser The Public Enemy The Petrified Forrest Angels With Dirty Faces The Roaring Twenties White Heat This equals, after tax, to 7.90 a film. And each one has historian commentaries, featurettes totalling nearly 2hrs, cartoons, newsreels, shorts, trailers and a couple of radio adaptations. Being a film geek this was a steal. If you have any interest in these films (especially if you're a Sam's Club member) do not hesitate to pick these up.
  14. Bout Fuckin' Time! Seriously it took HHH forever to finish

    Shocker

Disney didn't actually make the film. It was produced by the Quaker Oats company as a way of promoting a line of "Wonka" bars. Paramount initially distributed the film and now Warner Bros. owns the rights and it's producing the new adaptation. And I never read HST and only saw Fear and Loathing once, that's a strange movie. But I love Doonesbury and the Duke character, wonder if this will be brought up via Duke in the strip.
  16. HHH vs Randy Savage I'm convinced that a 85-89 Savage vs 2000 HHH would've been an all out classic.
  17. I wish I could post some stuff for you guys, I've got so many tapes with so much stuff, just no way of transfering video (VHS) to my computer.
  18. God Bless Booker T
